00:00Good morning. A bit of a chilly start for some of us and a few mist and fog patches
00:05to kick the day off, but there's a good deal of dry and fine weather in the mix. It's courtesy
00:10of this area of high pressure to the east, but the east is slowly sliding away over the
00:15next 24 hours and it's all eyes then to the west as this weather front starts to actually
00:19show its hand across parts of Northern Ireland later tonight.
00:23But back to the here and now. So a fine start this morning across many parts of England
00:28and Wales and Scotland. We are seeing a little bit more of a increasing cloud across the
00:33south and east, and during the course of the afternoon, this cloud will make some steady
00:37progress westwards and it will be thick enough for a few outbreaks of light rain and drizzle
00:42here and there. But that cloud is going to have a bit of an impact on the afternoon temperatures
00:48with highs of 16 or 17 for anyone stuck under this cloud, but across the sunnier and brighter
00:53west highs of 18, perhaps even 19 possible. So feeling quite pleasant in the sunshine
00:58But we do have a strengthening southerly wind in that west, courtesy of this weather front,
01:04and that weather front will make steady progress as we move our way through into Saturday morning,
01:10that cloud and rain arriving across Northern Ireland by dawn. But many parts of England and
01:15Wales were mainly largely dry with some clear spells. And under those clear spells those temperatures
01:20will fall away, certainly in some rural spots through some central areas, but many towns and cities
01:26staying comfortably in high singles. So that dry but cloudy start to Saturday morning,
01:33those brighter conditions really, really holding on across the far east. But all eyes to the west
01:39as this band of cloud and rain and strengthening wind makes steady progress eastwards during the course
01:45of the afternoon. It's really taking its time though for many parts of England remaining dry right the way
01:51through to the late afternoon. And in terms of temperatures, pretty academic, close to average for the time of year,
01:59with highs of 17 or 18 across the south, 14 or 15 across the north, and all that cloud and rain across Scotland.
02:07And that weather front will make steady progress eastwards as we move our way into Sunday.
02:13There is some uncertainty of how quickly actually clears the east coast Sunday afternoon. But after it's cleared,
02:19high pressure starts to build in from the south and west. And at any time of that year, that means
02:25any return to some dry and potentially some bright conditions as we move our way into Monday, especially
02:31across parts of England and Wales. And that is your forecast. Bye for now.
