00:38Canadian International Trade Minister Maninda Sidhu said the agreement opens strategies for Canadian businesses in agriculture, energy, telecommunications, defence and aerospace.
00:48He said the deal is expected to be ratified within a year, with trade between the two nations potentially doubling in six years.
00:56Canada is also working on a trade agreement with the Philippines, part of a broader push into Southeast Asia.
