00:00United States Trade Representative Jameson Greer warns that Canada and Mexico must not become export hubs for China, Vietnam, Indonesia or other countries.
00:11He says evidence of this behaviour is already emerging in Mexico, raising fresh concerns about the integrity of the US-Mexico-Canada Agreement.
00:22Greer, who helped negotiate the deal during Donald Trump's first term, explained that several challenges remain.
00:29However, he noted that steps such as tariffs on foreign cars are beginning to tackle long-standing trade imbalances.
00:36When asked about the agreement's future, Greer said it remains in effect because Congress has enacted it into law.
00:42He also pointed out that Canada and Mexico continue to be the United States' largest export markets.
