More flights in, out of Cebu as international airport announces new routes, airline partners

There will be more flights in and out of Cebu as Mactan-Cebu International Airport (MCIA) expands its network with new routes and airline partners starting late October. Christine Vilanueva, strategy and communications head of Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation, said Jetstar Airways and Firefly Airlines would join partners Philippine Airlines and AirAsia in opening new services. Jetstar will launch Cebu–Brisbane flights on Dec. 3, 2025. Firefly will begin five weekly flights to Kuala Lumpur on Dec. 2, while AirAsia and Philippine Airlines will add routes to Macau, Kuala Lumpur, Davao, Caticlan, Iloilo, and Calbayog. MCIA operator Aboitiz InfraCapital Cebu Airport Corporation CEO Athanasios Titonis said the expansion reflects the airport’s commitment to greater connectivity under the “CebConnects” campaign.

00:002025 is shaping up to be a very remarkable year for Mactan Cebu International Airport.
00:08So earlier this year, we already announced additional routes and improved frequencies.
00:16And some of the new routes that we have introduced are Cebu to Katarman through Philippine Airlines,
00:25Cebu to Ho Chi Minh via Cebu Pacific, and Philippine Airlines.
00:31Now what we will be announcing are additional new routes that are expected to start in the coming weeks or months.
00:44Starting with Cebu to Kalpayog, Kerong Pal, starting October 26th, four times weekly.
00:55Next, we also have Kuala Lumpur.
00:58We're very fresh from the Air Asia media event wherein they launched that Cebu or Mactan Cebu International Airport.
01:07It's actually their 16th hub in the world.
01:11So one of the exciting routes that they have announced is the KL route.
01:17Starting November 15th this year, and they will be flying two times daily.
01:21Now aside from Air Asia, we also have another KL flight, care of Firefly.
01:32If you guys are not so familiar with Firefly, they are a subsidiary or partner also of Malaysian Airlines.
01:41So they will be starting operations December 2, and they will be flying five times weekly.
01:47Now what else do we have on the list?
01:52Oh, okay.
01:52So some ideas on what you guys can do.
01:58First, mayroon na bang nakapunta in Ho Chi Minh?
02:02When we started that additional route.
02:06Ho Chi Minh?
02:08For those who haven't been there, I think now is the sign for you to start booking your flights.
02:13Now, once we start the November flight of Air Asia and the December flight of Firefly for Kuala Lumpur, there are a lot of things that you can do in KL.
02:28I think you guys are very familiar already with the Petronas Tower, Batu Caves.
02:33Some people are asking, why you put Legoland there?
02:35Well, like what our Air Asia friends told us the other day, even if Legoland is closer to Singapore, which is in Johor Bahru, you can even get to Singapore, Johor Bahru, at a cheaper rate by a KL sometimes, rather than booking it to Singapore.
02:53So that's also another option for you.
02:56But aside from KL, what we also have in store is Brisbane.
03:02So this is something that we are all excited about.
03:06And this is the first time we'll have the reconnectivity to the land down under Australia.
03:13And starting December 3, actually you can book now.
03:15But starting December 3, they will be operating three times weekly.
03:19And you know, some facts, some trivia.
03:22The first 24 hours that they opened this to Australians for booking, sold out.
03:30That's how powerful this route is.
03:34And that's how excited Australians are also to visit Cebu.
03:39Next slide.
03:41Things to do in Brisbane if you haven't been there.
03:44So they have lots of botanic gardens.
03:47Of course, get to see the cute koalas and river crews.
03:52So some ideas if you're planning to go to Brisbane anytime soon.
03:56And that will be operated by Jetstar.
03:58Next.
04:01So, to date, if we include all those new destinations and connectivities.
04:08Peace.
04:11I'll see you next time.
04:41I'll see you next time.
