00:00My name is Brian Graham. I'm a fourth year electrical apprentice working on the Snowy 2.0 project.
00:07And I love it.
00:09Before joining Snowy 2.0, I was working as a pattern maker.
00:14A pattern maker is a trade that I learned back in Scotland after I left school.
00:22Being 60 and having the opportunity to do an apprenticeship is just absolutely amazing.
00:28At my age, for to be able to do an apprenticeship like this, it's a fantastic opportunity and a real blessing.
00:37When I was in Edinburgh, I met an elderly gentleman. He was in his 80s.
00:41And when he found out that I had been living in Australia, he started to tell me about when he had been in Australia.
00:47And he had worked on the original Snowy Hydro project as an electrical engineer.
00:52And he was so proud of it. You know, it's something that he really held on to.
00:57But working with WeBuild and this project, I now know how he feels, you know, because I've got that same pride.
01:04It's an iconic project and it's a legacy that will leave for generations to come.
01:10Snowy 2.0 is a brilliant opportunity.
01:13I was lucky enough to talk to a couple of our tunnellers in one of our tunnels, TBM1.
01:18And so they've been on the project for more than five years and we're quizzing them about why.
01:23Why here? They're from overseas and lived in Australia for quite a few years now.
01:28And they said, well, we've worked on many projects that do bits and pieces, but this is the only one that does everything and brings everything in together.
01:36They said, we're not leaving anytime soon.
01:38It's too good, too big and you learn so much.
01:43And hopefully that applies to most people on the project.
01:47I know I've loved it.
01:48I've been here for eight years and I'm not leaving in a hurry either.
