00:00Social media giants must take responsibility for protecting our children.
00:10Because across the globe, they're suffering, they're dying.
00:18The Australian Government heard the call from passionate advocates and has stood up and said no more.
00:24This is unacceptable. Australian children will no longer be monetised in this way.
00:31And we're the first country to do this.
00:36And Australia only has 1.2 plus million kids aged between 13 and 15.
00:44But what about the 226 million children of that age around the rest of the world?
00:53Don't they also need protecting?
00:57The only way to stop this harm is to hit these corporations in their big pocket.
01:02Because they've known about it and they've done nothing.
01:06Much like the tobacco companies of old.
01:10I implore leaders and nations of our great world to act, but act now.
01:17Making it illegal for children to access social media under 16 will improve lives.
01:24It will save lives.
01:28It was once said that all it takes for evil to flourish is for good people to do nothing.
01:35So it's time to do something.
01:41For parents of the lost children, our lives are measured in days, weeks and months from our loss.
01:53Our birthdays, anniversaries, Christmases and events that serve to remind us that life is moving on for everyone else except us.
02:06We watch as other parents' children get licences and graduate all the things that our babies want to achieve.
02:18And it's brutal.
02:22And since Tilly died, I've had the privilege of meeting so many parents like me.
02:27Because there are so many Tilly's in the community.
02:30There are Macs, Ollie's, Liv's, Charlotte's, Sienna's, Alan's.
02:41These are real Australian children who have died by suicide and social media was to blame.
02:50So now I ask you to hold my Tilly and all the lost children in your hearts and do what you can to change the narrative across our world.
03:02For Tilly's sake, because how many more Tilly's must die?
