00:00i love your school feature is at saint john the baptist primary school and nursery and we're here

00:05with the bosses introduce yourselves ladies i'm kate gregory and i'm katie farmer so well tell

00:12me about your school we've met a few of your pupils it's in a lovely settings here is it

00:17right right towns right out right and towns how do i say it right and 11 towns right and 11 towns

00:23that's the one and it's a black country boy talking that is so yeah it's a lovely setting

00:28here you've got some lovely grounds and fields around haven't you tell us about your school

00:31ladies do you want to go there um so our school is as you can see it's in it is a lovely setting

00:39and we're very proud of the um environment that we've got we've got children that come to us from

00:44as far away as osmosry haven't we yeah we have um and so we've got a really supportive nurturing

00:51staff here um and we've recently redeveloped some of our areas in school into um areas specifically

01:00for nurture for children that just require that um a little bit extra around their emotional

01:06regulation around mental health anxiety and so that's a really nice area for them to use and we've

01:12got staff that are trained in um techniques to support them with that as well yeah um we've got a

01:19lovely outdoor area uh we're very fortunate to have a lot of um space outside um beautiful fields our

01:26reflective area which was developed a few years ago um it just gives the children a safe space to go to

01:32or a quiet space to go to during lunch times if they need that we've got our lovely trim trail um out

01:39on the playground which was hugely funded by um the friends of our school which um are a fantastic

01:44group of parents and we really appreciate everything they do um without their support um it would be

01:50really difficult it was um and they provide lots of opportunities for the children so the funds pay

01:55for all of our children to go to the pantomime in shrewsbury that doesn't cost our parents anything

01:59fantastic um we've also got a wonderful forest school space um off-site it is literally a woodland

02:06um which we've been granted permission to use by um the gittins family who are a family that have

02:13lived in writing levantines um for a really long time um so we're really grateful to them for that

02:18opportunity as well well thank you and well um thank you for letting us having a little look around

02:23amongst your your wonderful schools thank you thank you very much for coming thanks are you ready guys

02:28so i'm gonna give you a minute now mrs morne i'm gonna put in the

02:58how are you okay cool so we're in a room that's called the nest the nest i like that what is the

03:07nest all about then what happens in here i would bring children in here who might find normal classes

03:12a little bit tricky and so we'll do small intervention groups to help with mental health

03:19anxiety and sometimes if they need an extra bit of support with their maths and english we'll bring

03:25them in here in small groups and work through the work together so it's that kind of safe welcoming

03:30space yeah yeah great so well we'll let you crack on you're doing a bit of maths aren't you is that

03:35right so we're here in the nest with a few pupils and we're here with just give you give your first

03:42names out guys my name is amelia my name is my name is sam cool and guys well tell me a few things

03:49about what you like at your school perhaps amelia what anything particularly you like here i love

03:54about the p and the sports range how you can do lots of different sports clubs and that we all have

03:59a chance to go out and compete against different schools and that's what i love about this school

04:05so what any particular sports that you're good at yourself um i like to do some dodgeball tournaments

04:12dodgeball oh wow great stuff and um what about you in the middle there boss what do you like

04:17oh that's good so there's some good staff here looking after you yeah and on the end there buddy

04:32what about you uh my favorite thing about this school is how safe and supportive it is yeah so

04:39when you need like a break or a rest from the work it can happen but you still got to do the work
