00:28creative in the beverage game. And they certainly have no shortage of options, either.
00:33Get the drink that gets you at Sonic. When it comes to Y2K-era vibes in particular,
00:39Ocean Water is the drink that steals the show. While it has technically been around since the
00:4480s, it was trademarked in 1996 and only picked up steam from there. It's very good. Ocean Water
00:52is the best because it's from natural ocean water. It's great.

01:03Obviously, Sonic's Ocean Water is not literally ocean water. It's a sweet and refreshing combination

02:41A phony Santa giving away mystery meat nuggets? Not today. Now, taste the holiday cheer of all-white
02:46meat KFC popcorn chicken. KFC was the franchise that introduced popcorn chicken to mainstream
02:52food culture in the 90s. It launched in 1992, but not as a permanent menu item. The Colonel
02:58then brought it back in 1998 for a limited time, and then again in 2001.
03:03Gene originally pitched KFC a product he called Hot Thigh, made from the thigh bone meat. That idea
03:12eventually became finger-pickin' chicken, and from there evolved into popcorn chicken.
03:17People didn't just find out they loved KFC's popcorn chicken around the Y2K era. They found out they
03:23loved popcorn chicken in general because of KFC. That sort of fast food pioneering has to be worth
03:29bonus points. And that's why KFC popcorn chicken lands a spot on our list.

03:49Number 7. Sourdough Jack. Jack in the Box. While it's become a mainstay token on the Jack in the Box
03:55menu, the Sourdough Jack is rooted in Y2K history. Can I help you? We'll have two Jumbo Jacks, please.
04:03A Sourdough Jack, three fries, and three medium Pepsis. It's essentially a patty melt spin on a
04:10traditional burger, with the beef placed on toasted sourdough bread, along with Swiss-style
04:15cheese, bacon, tomato, mayo, and ketchup. The Sourdough Jack hit the menu in 1997.
04:22Listen, if you like sourdough, I know this place that makes an excellent cheeseburger,

04:55Number 6. Spicy Chicken Sandwich. Wendy's. Chicken sandwiches have become a force in American food
05:02culture. Wendy's had an important place in the early stages of the rise.
05:06Looking for something with some zip? Well, Wendy's Spicy Chicken Sandwich with its fiery blend of
05:11pepper and spices satisfies that craze. Their Spicy Chicken Sandwich was introduced nationwide in the
05:17mid-90s, before other chains started to catch on to the allure. It comes with lettuce, tomato,
05:22mayo, and of course a blend of peppers and spices to provide the heat.

07:38Scheibmeyer told Food Beast that her bosses originally thought she was absolutely crazy when
07:44first began talking about the new product. And it took three whole years for Stuffed Crust
07:48to come to fruition because of their skepticism.
07:52There were multiple now-nostalgic commercials around the turn of the century, bringing this
07:57menu item to light for countless people. And sure enough, it did not take long at all for
08:02the Stuffed Crust Pizza, to become one of the chain's most popular items.
