00:09Today, I'll be reacting to the Donkey Kong Bonanza Direct Nintendo release yesterday.

00:14So, let's get to it.

00:16Okay, so, I have to use a different screen recorder for this one.

00:21Because, in a previous recording of this video, the audio was all echoey, and that's not something I want.

00:28Like, not at all.

00:31Because apparently, the screen recorder I was using captured audio both from this phone's speakers and internally.

00:42And it created this echo effect, and that's not what I want in my recordings at all.

00:49So, you just have to deal with this circle from now on.

00:54Because that previous screen recorder was a piece of s***.

00:58Like, ah, goddammit.

01:12When the world felt so cruel and bleak.

01:25When the whole looked so dark and empty.

01:30Hard as rock, cold as stone, I was scared alone.

02:21Golden Bananas! The discovery of the century. Made right here on Ingot Isle.

02:26This is excellent news for number one banana fan, Donkey Kong.

02:31However, just as he's about to enjoy the notable nanas, a sudden tempest sends him deep down underground.

02:42As his adventure begins, DK teams up with Odd Rock, but it's no rock at all.

02:51It's actually a talented young singer named Pauline!

02:58Now, Donkey Kong just wants bananas.

03:00And Pauline wants to find a way back home to the surface.

03:04It's said that one's wish will be granted by reaching the planet core.

03:08So the unlikely duo set off on a strange subterranean adventure.

03:13The story takes place in the underground world, where the scenery changes the deeper you go.

03:21Some layers are so spectacular that it's hard to believe you're underground.

03:27DK can run, jump, and climb through each environment.

03:37Using his incredible physical prowess, you can freely move in any direction.

03:42But that's not all.

03:44Almost anything in your path.

03:46You can smash, crash, and bash.

03:54You can even do this to a massive rock formation.

04:00You know, if you want.

04:02As you barrel through obstacles in your path, you'll also collect golden bananas, known as Banandium Gems.

04:13Let's take a look at some of the things this Kong can do.

04:20Punch, smash enemies, walls, the ground, and most things you can get your hands on with incredible force.

05:04Make some noise to collect scattered items.

05:07Or detect hidden objects using sonar.

05:11You can even use your feet when your hands are occupied.

05:15Tear off.

05:17Grab a chunk of terrain and tear it off.

05:21Or tear up turnips to find items.

05:24And even tear chunks off your foes.

05:30Swing.

05:31Grab a chunk and swing it to attack.

05:34One more!

05:35Harder chunks can be used to break stone with ease.

05:39Or smash spiky thorns.

05:41Yep, that's great.

05:43Chunk jump.

05:44Use a chunk to double jump.

05:47This will help you reach new heights.

05:49Throw.

05:50Throw a chunk.

05:54Or aim at a target like this.

05:58Throwing a boom rock or gold can have explosive effects.

06:04If you throw chunks made of softer material, you can stick them to a surface and pile them up.

06:15This lets you ride on chunks.

06:20Speed up and aim for smaller enemies to knock them away.

06:25The power of Pauline's singing will help show you the way.

09:29Poppy Kong is responsible for subterranean info gathering.

09:36While Void Kong is in charge of the whole company.

09:42This nefarious crew is responsible for the banana-stealing maelstrom on Inget Island.

09:48And they're heading straight down to the planet core.

09:57I'm going with DK, so you just stay away!

10:01Void Co. blocked off all the routes to the lower layers, so no one could reach them.

10:09I don't think so.

10:10DK and his pals will come face to face with the enemies guarding these routes.

10:15So use all the power at your disposal to take on a host of powerful foes.

10:19By defeating them...

10:25Giant sinkholes will open, clearing a path to the lower layers of the underground world.

10:41Found throughout the underground world are golden bananas called Banandium Gems.

10:49They're not always visible though.

10:51Sometimes they're buried in the walls, the ground, and other places.

10:57There are a whole bunch to find.

11:00You can also obtain these gems by completing challenges in the ruins, found throughout your adventure.

11:17Courses where you'll need clever solutions.

11:23Side-scrolling stages.

11:25And more!

11:30Keep your eyes peeled to find the Banandium Gems.

12:51You can exchange gold for useful items at the stuff shop.

12:57There are fossils, too.

13:00You can trade these for different fashions at local style shops.

13:04Just open the closet and customize the perfect fits for Donkey Kong and Pauline.

13:15Or even change up your fur color.

13:17No look is too much for Donkey Kong, or too little.

13:21Almost every article of clothing comes with its own benefits.

13:25So, mix and match your look to suit the situation.

13:35If you find a treasure chest buried in the ground, crack it open,

13:38and you might receive a treasure map showing the location of Banandium gems or fossils.

13:44Their locations will be marked on your map.

13:47Pretty helpful for finding collectibles.

13:49Yeah, like I said.

13:50You can also see which fossils and Banandium gems you've collected,

13:54making it easy to see how close you are to completion.

13:59There's plenty more to do in the underground world when not adventuring.

14:03Need a rest?

14:05Carve out a space and enjoy a getaway where you can recover in bed.

14:09And enjoy listening to tunes with the music player.

14:12You might even find new discs when defeating enemies.

14:23When it comes to moving between layers, subterranean eels have your back.

14:28These eelevators will help you easily move between layers you visited at any time.

15:22You can also copy the material of nearby terrain to give your vocals even more texture.

15:30But working together, even tough enemies don't stand a chance.

15:39This game also supports Game Share.

15:42Even if only one player has the game, they can quickly share it to another player so they can join on their own system.

15:47It can also be shared locally to a Nintendo Switch system.

15:52Plus, you can play online between Nintendo Switch 2 systems using Game Share via Game Chat.

15:58If you need a little help with all the platforming action, Assist Mode is the way to play.

18:57Well, it sure is a nice change of pace from the Wii and Wii U ports.

19:23I mean, I've been getting into the Donkey Kong franchise lately, so...
