00:14However, just as he's about to enjoy the notable bananas, a sudden tempest sends him deep down underground.
00:23That's when DK meets a talented young singer named Colleen.
00:29Now, Donkey Kong just wants bananas.
00:34And Pauline wants to find a way back home to the surface.
00:38It's said that one's wish will be granted by reaching the planet core.
00:43So the unlikely duo set off on a strange subterranean adventure.

00:52The story takes place in the underground world, where the scenery changes the deeper you go.
00:58Some layers are so spectacular that it's hard to believe you're underground.
01:04DK can run, jump, and climb through each environment.
01:14Using his incredible physical prowess, you can freely move in any direction.

04:12These hold challenges where you can earn Banandium Gyms.
04:18Challenges include time-limited battles, side-scrolling stages, and more.
04:29Keep your eyes peeled to find the Banandium Gyms.
04:38As you collect Banandium Gyms, you'll gain skill points.
04:42Use them to power up Donkey Kong to match your play style.
04:46Or use skill points to learn new skills.
04:53Plus, by gathering fossils, you can trade them for fashionable attire.
05:01And customize the perfect fits for Donkey Kong and Pauline.
05:07Almost every article of clothing comes with its own benefits.
05:11So mix and match your look to suit the situation.
05:16By sharing a Joy-Con 2 controller or using a second set, you and a pal can control Donkey Kong and Pauline separately to buddy up in local co-op play.
05:27As Pauline, you can unleash vocal blasts using Joy-Con 2 mouse controls.
05:31You can also copy the material of nearby terrain to give your vocals even more texture.
05:38By working together, even tough enemies don't stand a chance.
05:42This game also supports Game Share.
05:43Even if only one player has the game, they can quickly share it to another player so they can join on their own system.
05:58It can also be shared locally to a Nintendo Switch system.
