00:00You've been told dinosaurs ruled the earth for millions of years,

00:03gigantic lizards roaming prehistoric jungles, but what if?

00:07They never existed at all.

00:09What if the bones in museums are fakes?

00:12What if the entire dinosaur narrative was invented in the 1800s for a purpose?

00:17It starts with a man named Gideon Mantel.

00:20In 1822, he discovered what would later be called the first dinosaur fossil.

00:25But here's the catch.

00:26He was mocked for decades, until suddenly, a wave of similar discoveries appeared.

00:32Between 1850 and 1900, dozens of skeletons were unearthed,

00:36all by a handful of elite-funded paleontologists,

00:40always in remote areas, always with exclusive access.
