00:00President of Venezuela, Nicolas Maduro, reiterated morning in his weekly TV program con MaduroMás
00:05the quick role of the civic-military-police fusion as one of the main pillars of the Venezuelan state
00:10and that the narrative of the U.S. imperialism against the country had failed.
00:16The head of the state assured that Venezuela has achieved peace and maintained sovereignty by its own efforts
00:22regardless of the international scenario and the initiative of the U.S. imperialism
00:28to fabricate a false narrative to justify a military intervention in the country.
00:33He also emphasized that a powerful constitutional and legal popular movement has been established
00:39in the nation which has contributed to the unity of all Venezuelans.
00:44Maduro also pointed out that the United States government has tried to stifle the Bolivarian nation's economy
00:51with blockades and trade aggressions, but Venezuela has reinvented itself
00:56and has become self-sufficient in the production of a wide range of goods.
01:04We have taken the situation with a lot of strength, serenity,
01:10and we have convoked the whole country to answer.
01:14And they have three things, the narrative, the escalade, and an incident.
01:23From the narrative, it is totally exaggerated and extravagant.
01:30The narrative that they have on Venezuela and the president Maduro and the Bolivarian revolution is extravagant.
01:38The foreign ministers of the community of Latin American and Caribbean states, SALAC,
01:44expressed Monday their concern about the presence of U.S. military forces in the Caribbean.
01:48The regional bloc top diplomats met in New York City hours before the United Nations General Assembly meeting,
01:55which was convened to discuss the increased intentions due to Washington's actions
01:59under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking in the Caribbean.
02:02Venezuelan foreign minister Ivan Hill condemned the presence of U.S. troops in the area
02:07and warned that they threatened peace in the region.
02:10He also expressed his concern about the economic impact of the U.S. maneuver
02:14since fishing and tourist boats are afraid of sailing in the area.
02:19In recent weeks we have seen how the military deployment promoted by certain sectors within the United States
02:34has become the greatest threat against the peace zone of Latin America and the Caribbean.
02:40A situation which is widely considered we hadn't seen since the missile crisis of the 1960s.
02:50Even with the deployment of a nuclear submarine in the area, which doesn't threat only the peace,
02:58tranquility and stability of Venezuela, but has become a threat to the peace and stability of the entire region.
03:05A situation who could believe that an attack against any of our countries would not affect one of its neighbors
03:10or has an impact on the regional economy, this is already happening with fishing boats and tourists' ships
03:23who are afraid to sail on the Caribbean Sea due to this threat looming over them.
03:28Also, the Minister of Foreign Affairs of Venezuela, Ivan here, recalled that his country is a territory free of drug trafficking
03:37according to reports from international organizations
03:40and therefore questioned the presence of U.S. military in the Caribbean.
03:44Using the pretext of fighting illegal drug trafficking in Latin America, specifically South America,
03:57Venezuela has been falsely accused of being a facilitator of these routes,
04:02and therefore it should be militarily threatened.
04:04Well, I want to remind in this United Nations venue that the United Nations Office on Drugs and Crime
04:15in its 25 reports prior to this year, since 1999, has declared Venezuela, a territory free of illicit crops,
04:25a territory free of narcotic substance production, and a territory that does not play an important role
04:32in money laundering related to narcotrafficking, that is to say,
04:36the main crimes associated with narcotrafficking, and the main organizations that monitor this situation,
04:47have certified Venezuela as a country completely free of these crimes.
04:52Venezuela's commitments are absolutely associated to the commitments we have made
04:57as an international community to combat drug trafficking.
