00:00A 2-0 Eagles against a 2-0 L.A. Rams,
00:02and it looked like it was going to be the first loss for Philly
00:05that happened in a game that Jalen Hurts finished since
00:10before the bye of last year.
00:13And it is incredible the way the Eagles have been able to win,
00:16but sometimes you get God.
00:17And for the Rams, this was a Super Bowl-level effort.
00:23You saw it. You saw it in their emotions.
00:25They were dying to beat the Eagles
00:28because for the Rams, for their last 13 games
00:33or 12 games removed week 18,
00:35if they're not playing the Eagles, they win.
00:39They beat everybody who is not the Eagles.
00:42Their last nine games, Donnie,
00:44against teams removing week 18 that are not the Eagles,
00:48they're 9-0, allowing 15.4 points per game.
00:52But now, against the Philadelphia Eagles,
00:55in that same exact stretch, 0-3,
00:59allowing 32.7 points per game.
01:04And yet it seemed as if they were going to have
01:06the best defensive performance for this young defense
01:09that they could hang their hat on.
01:11The Eagles couldn't move the ball
01:13after a short-field touchdown
01:15following a Zach Bond interception.
01:18In fact, the Eagles not being able to move the ball
01:19continued into the second half
01:21when Jalen Hurts was fumbled the ball on a sack.
01:24And then it was touchdown, touchdown,
01:27a turnover on downs,
01:29and another touchdown.
01:31The blocked field goal return,
01:33devastating, devastating, devastating
01:35if you took the Rams.
01:36But the Eagles took this game away from L.A.
01:39Yeah, exactly.
01:40And looking at that game as a whole,
01:42I thought the Eagles would win.
01:43I thought the line was perfect at 3.5,
01:44and boy, was it perfect.
01:46And coming down to the end of the game,
01:47depending on which way you had it,
01:48that's a tough beat specifically
01:50if you were on the Rams at that point.
01:51But I always thought the Rams, Kevin,
01:52would be able to move the football.
01:53Loved that 19.5,
01:54a little bit juice total at a minus 135.
01:56They had 19 points at the half,
01:58scored that touchdown quick in the second half,
02:00put that one away.
02:01But I was starting to think,
02:02like, watching the Eagles game optimistically,
02:05saying, man,
02:05are we really going to go back to two years ago
02:07where the season started well or decent?
02:09And again, that was a 10-1 football team
02:11that collapsed at the end of the year.
02:12But now we're saying, like,
02:13oh, look at this,
02:13Kevin Petulo can't structure anything.
02:15He goes, how can you have this many weapons
02:16and be healthy on offense
02:17and have, like, 30, 20,
02:19whatever it was,
02:20yards at the half.
02:21But something clicked in the second half,
02:22which you understand this.
02:23Get A.J. Brown the football.
02:25Really good things happened.
02:26And they did.
02:27Get Devontae Smith the football.
02:28Really good things happened.
02:29When you open up the passing game,
02:31then you can start to run the football
02:32a little bit better.
02:33But it was nice to see
02:34the Eagles opening up in the second half.
02:35But let's get back to the Rams
02:37and how you have to actually
02:38knock out a Super Bowl championship.
02:39You look at the kicker.
02:42He attempted six field goals, Kevin.
02:44You can't do that.
02:44You have to have your foot on the gas pedal
02:46the entire way
02:47and be aggressive
02:48and convert those red zone opportunities
02:50into touchdowns
02:51as opposed to field goals.
02:52But having said that,
02:54in what world do we live in
02:55where, like,
02:56a blocked field goal
02:57feels like, Kevin,
02:58it happens, like,
02:58once every month in the NFL.
03:00And they went crazy yesterday
03:02across the league,
03:02but in the Eagles game
03:03to have two blocked kicks
03:05that understand this.
03:06Momentum is key.
03:07They go up eight points
03:08at the end of that football game.
03:09Yeah, the Eagles actually scored a touchdown,
03:11but missed a two-point conversion.
03:12They'd be taking knees
03:13at the end of the game
03:13instead of needing to score
03:15at that point.
03:15But also at the end of the game,
03:16it wasn't like it was,
03:18hey, he's lining up a 65-yarder,
03:19Kevin,
03:20we're going to have to hit a line drive
03:21and crush it,
03:21and you can block it.
03:22I've never seen two defensive tackles
03:24in back-to-back field goal blocks
03:26that looked like
03:27it was a high school game,
03:28like,
03:28nobody's blocking me,
03:29I will run everybody over,
03:31and I will stand in front of your kicker,
03:32and he can't make the kick here.
03:34Tremendous gut punch there
03:36for the Rams
03:36and an unbelievable victory
03:38for the Eagles.
03:38But my takeaway from this game
03:40is not that the Rams are bad.
03:41They're a good football team.
03:42They'll be in the playoffs
03:43as long as they stay healthy.
03:44But now I look and say,
03:46give some flowers to Jalen Hurts.
03:48Nothing was going right.
03:49They're down 26-10,
03:51excuse me,
03:5126-7.
03:52You can just tuck tail
03:53and go home.
03:54He's like,
03:54you know what?
03:54Put this offense on me.
03:56Boom, boom, boom.
03:57They're in the end zone momentum,
03:58and away they went.
03:59He was phenomenal
04:00in the second half,
04:01but most people are like,
04:02well,
04:02he has a great offensive line,
04:04Saquon Barkley,
04:04two wideouts.
04:05He should have did it
04:05the whole game.
04:06There's never going to be
04:07too much credit
04:07not given to Jalen Hurts.
04:09He was spectacular,
04:10and Kevin,
04:10maybe his best half of football
04:12he ever played
04:13in the second half.
04:14Yeah, I think that that is possible.
04:15I thought A.J. Brown
04:16was fantastic as well.
04:19Great.
04:19Look, the Eagles
04:20are going to need
04:21to blow some teams out
04:22to show that this isn't
04:23how they're trying to live
04:24and die by close victories.
04:26You know,
04:26there's some early season
04:27comparisons to last year's Chiefs,
04:29and you don't want
04:30those comparisons.
04:31You know,
04:32that is a through line there,
04:34but we've been wondering
04:35when is Philly's pass offense
04:36going to look like
04:37the talent it has,
04:39and it finally did.
04:40There are still questions
04:41for Philadelphia, right,
04:42to play a full 60-minute game,
04:45but they are sitting right now
04:473-0
04:48and probably deserve right now
04:50to sit atop the market.
04:52For the Rams,
04:54let's be very clear here.
04:56Should they have won this game?
04:57Probably, again,
04:58should they have covered?
04:59Definitely.
05:00This is an awful loss.
05:02You now have to,
05:04in your building,
05:04ask yourself,
05:06can someone else
05:06please beat Philly for us?
05:08If you're trying to make
05:08a run through the NFC,
05:10can someone else
05:11please beat Philly for us?
05:12Here's the other problem.
05:14The NFC West
05:15might be fantastic.
05:17They're tied for last,
05:18the Rams,
05:19at 2-1.
05:20And it is just
05:21one of these divisions
05:22that looks like
05:23it's going to be tight
05:24the whole way.
05:25Every single result
05:27is going to matter.
05:29can someone else
05:31here today.
05:32They're tied for as well,
05:32but they're tied into
05:45quarter.
05:45They're tied for
05:4715 years.
05:47So they're just
05:48cuatro,
05:49we're tied for
05:50that year.
05:51Go ahead.
05:51Hope you got them
05:56here.
