Sudan is currently in the midst of a senseless war that has led to the death of tens of thousands of civilians and created the largest hunger and displacement crisis in the world. The people of Sudan have suffered from various conflicts as well as severe poverty, dictatorships, tribal and ethnic divisions and a host of other political, economic and social problems for decades under successive leaderships, regimes and systems.     This discussion addresses how only the Khilafah state, ruled by a purely Islamic system and leadership offers clear solutions to these problems. It will highlight how the Khilafah state embodies the principles, laws, institutions and mechanisms to practically build a politically stable, just, united, secure and prosperous future for Sudan and the rest of the Muslim world.  It is part of a global campaign launched by the Women’s Section in the Central Media Office of Hizb ut Tahrir entitled, "Sudan's War: A Story of Colonialism, Betrayal & Deception" that aims to bring an international spotlight on the deteriorating humanitarian catastrophe afflicting the Muslims of Sudan as a result of the current conflict plaguing the country which has been labelled the "Forgotten War". 00:00:34our last discussion explored

00:00:36the tragic situation of Sudan

00:00:38we touched upon its rich Islamic history

00:00:40how it entered and shaped the region

00:00:43and we spoke about Sudan's

00:00:44unique geographical importance

00:00:46once the largest country in Africa

00:00:48before its split in 2011

00:00:50Sudan connects North Africa

00:00:51the Sahel and the Sub-Saharan Africa

00:00:54and has a large swathe of coastline

00:00:57along the Red Sea

00:00:57it's a natural economic and political

00:01:00and cultural bridge

00:01:01between Africa

00:01:02the African and Arab regions

00:01:04Sudan's vast amounts of arable land

00:01:07has labelled it as the possible bread basket

00:01:09for the African and Arab world

00:01:10and not only attracts Middle Eastern countries

00:01:13for leasing contracts

00:01:14but also China and Turkey

00:01:16add huge reserves of valuable minerals

00:01:19such as gold and oil

00:01:21and it's easy to see why Sudan

00:01:22has attracted attention

00:01:24from regional and international powers

00:01:25and that interest is not exactly wholesome

00:01:28or innocent

00:01:29it has fuelled division exploitation

00:01:32and caused one of the most brutal

00:01:34and devastating wars of recent times

00:01:36today we want to take the discussion

00:01:39a step further

00:01:40and ask the question

00:01:41what will solve the many political, economic

00:01:44and military and social problems

00:01:46that Sudan has faced for decades

00:01:47we will look at the solutions being presented

00:01:50is it democracy and the framework agreement

00:01:52that has been described by some

00:01:54as the means to solve the political crisis

00:01:56and conflict in the country

00:01:58or is it the comprehensive implementation

00:02:00of Islam

00:02:01through the establishment of the Khilafah

00:02:04to address this topic

00:02:35just to bring up the framework agreement

00:02:39after the removal of the dictator

00:02:43Omar al-Bashir

00:02:44the military factions

00:02:45and certain civilian parties

00:02:47in Sudan

00:02:47signed a pact

00:02:49called the framework agreement

00:02:50in December 2022

00:02:52the agreement was a precursor

00:02:54to elections

00:02:55and a civilian democratic government

00:02:57after two years

00:02:59after a two year transition period

00:03:03about what this agreement includes

00:03:05and whether it can really build

00:03:07a brighter future

00:03:08for the Sudanese people

00:03:09yeah sure

00:03:22what is the framework agreement

00:03:24in December 2022

00:03:27the military

00:03:28represented by

00:03:29Burhan and Hamedi

00:03:31and civilian forces

00:03:33and civilian forces led

00:03:33by the forces of freedom and change

00:03:36signed the draft framework agreement

00:03:38which laid the groundwork

00:03:40for a two year transition

00:03:42to a civilian government

00:03:43followed by a national election

00:03:46so essentially

00:03:53was to form a democratic

00:03:55civilian

00:03:57parliamentary

00:04:33the principles

00:04:33of freedom

00:04:41and access

00:04:42to information

00:04:43the internet

00:04:44and the media

00:04:46that probably

00:04:48sounds

00:05:14in just a minute

00:05:15so

00:05:16while I know

00:05:17to some people

00:05:18there does not

00:05:19seem to be

00:05:20anything wrong

00:05:21with this

00:05:21on a surface level

00:05:22and some people

00:05:23may even say

00:05:24that anything

00:05:24is better

00:05:25than what

00:05:26is happening

00:05:26currently

00:05:27however

00:05:28we have to

00:05:29kind of

00:05:29take a look

00:05:30at who wrote

00:05:31the agreement

00:05:31and exactly

00:05:32what they want

00:05:33from it

00:05:34so the framework

00:05:35agreement

00:05:36was drafted

00:05:37by the UN

00:05:38envoy

00:05:38Volker Parthos

00:05:40under direct

00:05:41supervision

00:05:42of the Americans

00:05:43and the British

00:05:44and going back

00:06:25they are trying

00:06:26to

00:06:28the public

00:06:29and the framework

00:06:31agreement

00:06:32and their plan

00:06:33for Sudan

00:06:33is no different

00:06:35for example

00:06:39Sudanese government

00:06:42human rights

00:07:06putting forth

00:07:10must ensure

00:07:11gender equality

00:07:12and to

00:07:13liberate

00:07:14women from

00:07:15marriage and

00:07:16motherhood

00:07:16astagfirullah

00:07:17however

00:07:18we can see

00:07:20from the failure

00:07:20to protect

00:07:21and grant

00:07:23women in the

00:08:30culture has

00:08:32because here
