5 Rich People's Habits That Will Change Your Life

00:00I used to think rich people had some secret formula that I didn't know about.
00:04Turns out, after studying their habits and implementing them myself,
00:08the secret isn't actually a secret at all.
00:10It's not about waking up at 4am or taking ice baths.
00:14It's about simple, consistent habits that compound over time.
00:18So in this video, I'm revealing five habits that wealthy people practice daily.
00:24Habits that I've personally adopted that have completely transformed
00:27my relationship with money and success.
00:29They aren't the typical save more, spend less advice you've heard a million times.
00:34These are the psychological and behavioral shifts that I truly believe
00:37separate rich people from everyone else.
00:40Number one, they act anyway.
00:42When I first started my YouTube channel, my inner voice was brutal.
00:46You're not qualified enough.
00:48There are people out there who have more years of experience than you.
00:50You're not a good talker.
00:52Who are you to give advice?
00:53That voice kept me from starting for months.
00:56And then the same thing happened very recently.
00:58I was invited to a big event to speak and the inner critic that comes back regularly came
01:04back again.
01:05You're probably going to embarrass yourself.
01:06You're going to mix up your words and make a fool out of yourself and go blank.
01:09Again, there are people who are in the world who can do it better than you.
01:13For every wealthy person I've seen, spoken to, studied,
01:17they all have this ability to act despite their inner critics screaming at them.
01:22They have this ability to go ahead and do the thing and tell themselves that they deserve it.
01:27The difference isn't that they don't have an inner critic.
01:30It's that they've learned to recognize it as just noise.
01:34And just knowing that, knowing that everyone has this inner critic, but the difference is
01:38how you respond to it has changed everything.
01:40Now, every time my inner critic starts talking, I literally think to myself,
01:45thanks for sharing.
01:46And then I do the thing anyway.
01:47Not because I feel confident, but because I've learned that confidence comes after doing the
01:52thing, not before.
01:53Your inner critic wants to keep you safe, but safe rarely builds wealth.
01:58The next time you have an idea for a side business, or you want to invest in something new,
02:03or you want to try a new idea, notice that voice inside you that's telling you all the
02:09reasons why it won't work and why you shouldn't start.
02:11And once it comes, thank it and move forward anyway.
02:15Number two, they realize the importance of obsession.
02:17In August, 2022, I'd been working on my channel for about seven months and I was getting some views,
02:23maybe a few hundred, some comments here and there, but nothing really life changing.
02:27And then it was around September, 2022, when I became utterly obsessed.
02:31And I mean, it was the only thing I thought about in the mornings before work, during my
02:37lunch breaks, when I got home in the evenings, on Friday nights, when there was a birthday
02:40or something else or a social plan, I'd always leave early so I could get a good night's sleep
02:45before waking up at 6am on Saturday to work on the channel all weekend.
02:49And those few months were probably the loneliest in my life, not in terms of physical proximity,
02:56but in terms of people knowing what I was going through and actually understanding it.
03:01Well-meaning people in my life who wanted the best for me told me I needed balance, that
03:05I was going to regret working so hard that I needed to remember to have fun and enjoy my
03:08life.
03:09And they meant it because they cared for me, but you can't have anything big or different
03:15by doing the same thing you've always done or without being completely obsessed with the
03:21thing that you want to do.
03:22To get from 0 to 1, there needs to be obsession.
03:26There's just no other way.
03:28To get from 1 to 10, yeah, sure, you can find the balance, you can bring in other parts of
03:32your life, but it's just not possible when you're going from 0 to 1.
03:35You have to take a lot of sacrifices that only a few people are willing to do.
03:40Every person I know who's done something extraordinary has had a period where they've become completely
03:45obsessed with one thing, not balanced, not well-rounded, just obsessed.
03:50So have seasons of your life where you go all in on building something meaningful.
03:55That's where true wealth lies.
03:57It's the intersection of something you actually enjoy, something that has the potential to
04:02generate significant income and aligns with your natural strengths.
04:06Once you find that sweet spot, go all in.
04:09Next, we have they question everything they've been taught about money.
04:12Why do we think it's normal to work for 40 years and then retire?
04:17Why do we accept that only certain people can build businesses?
04:20Why do we think that investing is risky, but having one income source isn't?
04:24Most people never question the money beliefs they grew up with.
04:28A lot of my beliefs included things like you shouldn't talk about your finances with other
04:32people.
04:33You have to work in a job that you don't enjoy if you want to make money and live a good
04:37life eventually.
04:38And things like money doesn't grow on trees and it's hard to make money.
04:43These beliefs keep you in a certain way of living, even if it's not the life that you
04:48want.
04:48And it's only when I started questioning everything that I knew that I was then able to attach
04:53a different definition of money.
04:55One that fitted the life that I wanted to create and what ultimately made me happy.
04:59And it was one that led to me quitting my investment banking job, starting this channel where I
05:04openly talk about money and my financial situation and found ways to make money online, which when
05:10I was working in a traditional job, thought making money online is just a lie and that anyone
05:14who was saying that they're making money online is just lying.
05:18Because I wasn't open-minded enough to realize that there are other ways to create wealth that
05:25didn't require you following the traditional path.
05:27The money rules you grew up with probably don't fit your current life and you have every
05:32right to question them.
05:33What if the opposite was true?
05:35What if there were different ways to think about money that you've never even considered?
05:39The start of a new life for yourself starts with a new mindset and they make money while
05:44they sleep.
05:45This one took me the longest time to understand, but it's probably the most important.
05:50There is a fundamental difference between how most people think about earning money and
05:55how people who have a lot of wealth and have a lot of money think about it.
06:00Most of us are taught that earning money requires our time and it requires our physical presence.
06:05You show up, you do the work, you get paid.
06:08But the people on the other side have figured out something completely different.
06:11They've learned how to decouple their time from their income.
06:16They find ways to make money even when they're not actively working, when they're sleeping,
06:22when they're on a holiday, when they're spending time with family.
06:25When I was working in banking, every dollar I earned required me to show up, to work for
06:30it, to ask for it, to negotiate it.
06:33And if I didn't work, I didn't get paid.
06:34That's a really limiting way to build wealth because you can never stop.
06:38You're essentially trapped in a cycle where your income has a ceiling.
06:41And there are only so many hours in a day you can work.
06:44There are only so many weeks in a year that you can work.
06:46There are only so many years you can work for.
06:48The richest people build systems, create products, or invest their money that generate income
06:53without their constant involvement.
06:55For me, this involved creating content that could be watched millions of times after I
06:59made it once.
07:00It meant building products that can be sold automatically online.
07:03You have to be finding ways to make money work for you, whether that's through starting
07:08a business or investing.
07:10They both have different levels of risk, but both of them supplement your income and ultimately
07:15can lead to a way of you making money without you trading your time for it.
07:19By the way, if you are interested in creating a path to reach financial freedom, I have a
07:23bootcamp coming up, which will take you through everything you need to know to create that path
07:28in six weeks.
07:29Even if you feel intimidated by jargon, if you have never invested before and you have
07:34no idea where to start, the wait list is currently open and you can join through the link
07:39in the description below.
07:40And they treat failure as data.
07:42I used to be terrified of failing at anything.
07:46If a presentation didn't go the way I wanted, I'd think about it and take it personally for
07:49weeks.
07:50When I found out different businesses that I tried, I thought, I'm just made for the
07:53corporate life through and through.
07:54I'm not an entrepreneur.
07:56Like most people, I wanted to avoid failure like it was going to kill me.
08:00But the richest people and the wealthiest people I know, they collect failures like they're
08:04collecting data points.
08:06Every wealthy person I've studied has failed at multiple things before they succeeded.
08:12The difference is how they processed those failures.
08:14Instead of saying, I'm just terrible at this, they think, what can I learn from this?
08:19What can I learn from this?
08:20And then take with me into the next thing that I'm going to try.
08:23Instead of thinking I should give up, they think, what would I do differently next time?
08:27And I'm starting to do this more and more now.
08:30But every time I want to create something and I'm scared about it not working, I just
08:34do it.
08:34I just like pluck up the courage and I just say, it's fine.
08:38I'm going to work it out.
08:39I'll figure out how to do it.
08:40And if it doesn't work, I'll learn the lessons for next time.
08:43This simple practice has completely changed just how I view setbacks.
08:47Failure isn't the opposite of success.
08:49It is part of the success.
08:51You want to understand this at a deep level.
08:53And this mindset of treating everything as learning data is exactly why I'm super excited
