REI AMI Shares When She Heard EJAE Recording "Golden"
Transcript
00:00So did you find, like, the process of working on this movie to be healing in any sort of way, right?
00:04Oh, 100%. Not just healing, it was so challenging that it made me grow as a songwriter and as a singer.
00:11Like, I literally found my range while singing, making how it's done in Bolden.
00:17Yeah, I didn't know I could. No, literally, it was crazy.
00:21Well, first of all, the directors were like, Rumi needs to sing high notes, so let's get those really high notes in there.
00:26So I had to do that, so.
00:27And you did it. Oh, first time I met EJ was the recording session for Golden.
00:33It was, like, the tail end of her session, and I got there early, and I'm walking to the studio, and I don't see EJ in the booth, right?
00:41I just see Ian, executive producer, just, you know, in the actual, in front of the board, and I hear the A5, the weep, weep, that really high note.
00:50And I thought, I thought it was just, they were mixing her vocals.
00:55No, that was raw, that was live.
00:58And I literally stopped in my tracks, and I look at Ian, I'm like, you're kidding me.
01:04And he's like, no, I'm not.
01:07And then I'm just, like, in awe, because, like, how?
01:09And that's when I knew I was in the presence of greatness, truly.
01:12I appreciate you.
01:14Thank you for the words you wrote, so we could sing them.
01:17No, you guys killed it, by the way, seriously.
01:20Because.
01:21Such a good job.
01:23Love it.
