00:00Are you the only one who's not buying this whole Nick and Cassie relationship on TikTok?
00:05Look, we've all been on social media long enough to know that a large portion of what we see is a
00:09fake or at the very least polished version of real life. But when it comes to relationships
00:14or couples on TikTok, people still want to believe in, well, in love. There are so many
00:20couples on TikTok who use their love for attention and views. And yeah, it becomes almost impossible
00:25to know if what we see is real or not. But something about the blossoming relationship
00:29between the creators Nick and Cassie just rubs me the wrong way. Their relationship only started
00:35because people online deems them compatible. And their potential pairing became so popular that
00:40the two had to take advantage of it. So they each made dozens of videos addressing the idea of them
00:46becoming a couple. And then even more videos documenting their meet-cute, going on dates
00:50together, acting all couple-y and in love. Yes, I just find it so obviously fake. It's just so clear
00:56that they're milking this fleeting moment of fame for as much online attention as they can get. And
01:02yeah, taking advantage of their young and easily influenced audience in the process. Even though
01:07I don't pretend to know what is happening while the cameras are off, and I don't think I should know,
01:12maybe we should all take a moment and ask ourselves if this is what love really looks like.
01:16Or you know what? At the very least, take off the rose-colored glasses while you're watching the
01:20next video together and let me know what you think.
