00:00This is me collecting money from a vending machine, and again, and again, all to answer one question.
00:05How much money can you actually make with a vending machine?
00:08So I'm doing it. I've got two weeks to see how much money I can make, starting now.
00:13So here's the plan. Step one, get the machines. Step two, make them pop.
00:18Step three, find a location. Step four, load them up. Step five, collect the cash.
00:23I want to make as much as possible, so I bought three to figure out which one makes the most.
00:32Hi, man. By the way, I'm Cody. Good to meet you. Larry. Nice to meet you, too.
00:35How do you decide what to put in it? Best sellers would probably be like peanut M&Ms. I mean, Doritos.
00:39What sells terribly? Raisinets. That tracks. Those are gross.
00:43Who's eating a raisinet? So how much did these cost me?
00:46$2,200, $2,200, and finally, wild card, $850.
00:52So I'm all in for about $5,250. Let's hope we make some money.
00:57The two most important things, if you want to make money with a vending machine, are one, location.
01:01You need a lot of foot traffic. Two, product. What you put in here.
01:06Right product, right place. Strategy one, we are going to have a healthy vending machine.
01:11Now, this is not that normal, but we're going to fill this bad boy up with actually really expensive product,
01:15kind of premium stuff for like the fitness bros and people who are in the gym and want to have really healthy stuff,
01:21maybe a bunch of cool energy drinks from my buddies.
01:24Strategy two, we're going to go standard. This is an unhealthy vending machine.
01:28We're going to put in here everything that we know normal vending machines have and see if we make more money with that.
01:32And then we got kids toys, which I don't think we have to explain because this thing is like Vegas for small toddlers.
01:39And I think they're going to be into it.
01:40This one looks great. No need to do anything. Kids are going to be super attracted.
01:44This one, boring, dull, ugly. We're not going to make any money.
01:47So I got to do something to make it pop.
01:49I'm thinking murals, motivational quotes, and a lot of color.
01:53But hold on a second. First, we got to change.
01:56Like my onesie? Okay.
01:58I'm going to paint these bad boys, but I'm not very good at painting.
02:00So I called my friend Bridget, artist, muralist, and we are going to take these things and make them pop.
02:05Let's talk about this one first.
02:07I'm thinking like jujitsu gym, dudes, sweaty, some kind of cool slogan.
02:12Masculine vibes.
02:13Like it. Okay.
02:14Second one, I'm thinking healthy gym, something kind of funny, little quote on it.
02:19Love it.
02:20Amazing. Should we get to painting?
02:21Let's do it.
02:22All right. Let's see if I can do this.
02:29That's perfect.
02:30Really?
02:30Yeah.
02:31All right, Bridget, I'm going to let you finish the rest of this.
02:33I got to go buy the product to actually fill this bad boy.
02:36So I need to go buy some product.
02:37But before I can buy product to put in the vending machines,
02:39I got to figure out how much I can pay for each individual item or each unit,
02:43which is called unit economics.
02:45What do I want to do?
02:45I want to be able to buy things for less and sell them for more in order to have a profit margin,
02:50aka money in my pocket at the end of the day.
02:52I know that on average, the industry in vending machines,
02:55they have a 15 to 30% profit margin, net profit margin,
02:58which means at the end of the day, if they make $100 in total revenue,
03:02they only take home 15 to 30 bucks per hundred bucks made.
03:05So in order to hit this, I got to at least have a 50% gross margin
03:10or how much I make on every single product that I sell
03:13because there are these other costs associated.
03:15We'll get more to those later.
03:16What am I going to do?
03:17Well, in my healthy vending machine, I think I can charge a little bit more per unit.
03:21So my price per unit is going to be $2 plus,
03:25which means that my cost can be a dollar or below in order for me to make a dollar.
03:30Now, my unhealthy vending machine,
03:32I don't think I'm going to be able to sell things for as much in there.
03:34So I think each unit, I might be able to get like $1.50 for them,
03:37maybe a little bit more, which means that I can only spend 75 cents on them,
03:41which means if I do that, I'm going to have 75 cents that I get to take home instead.
03:47Now, I have to charge 2x the price that I pay in order for me to have a profit margin
03:53that I think makes me industry average.
03:55If any of this seems too oversimplified or you're confused, click this link.
03:58There is a profit and loss statement,
04:00which break this all down in a little spreadsheet exactly for you guys.
04:03so you can go deeper.
04:04Now I know my budget.
04:05Let's go shopping.
04:12Two for four.
04:13Great.
04:14That's what we need.
04:14We are going to make so much money with these.
04:29Talk to me.
04:29Why'd we do this?
04:30What's with the color?
04:31Color is so important because it stands out.
04:34I feel like a lot of people like to play it safe and keep it basic,
04:36and that's just not what we do around here.
04:38Something you do with all your designs is basically like,
04:40how do we make this super targeted to the user so that I see myself in this.
04:44This is our plan with the vending machine.
04:45Yeah.
04:46You killed it.
04:47Dude, I can't wait to see if we make a ton of money.
04:49I know.
04:49You better.
04:49Or report back.
04:50You better.
04:50I think these are going to crush,
04:51but I need these to go start making money for us right now.
04:54So let's see if we can find some locations for my new babies.
04:56Let's see if these guys let us play something.
04:59I thank you.
05:01It's a no.
05:01Time is running out.
05:02I need to find somewhere.
05:04Absolutely not.
05:05That was an opt-out.
05:09They said yes.
05:11All right, we got one down.
05:12That took forever.
05:13Now we're ready.
05:14Calling the head of my gym.
05:16Cody.
05:16Hi.
05:17Thanks for taking my call, Jeremy.
05:18I have kind of a weird request as a member.
05:21I am getting these vending machines.
05:23I was wondering if we could try a little experiment for like two weeks.
05:27You say two weeks?
05:29Yeah, let's try it for two weeks,
05:30and then we'll see how it goes.
05:32Let's do it.
05:32Let's try it out.
05:33Let's do it.
05:34You're the man.
05:34This will be amazing.
05:35All right, thanks, Jeremy.
05:38I kind of thought I'd say no,
05:40that it'd be embarrassing that I'd have to see him at the gym,
05:41but we're fine.
05:42On our way to a gym to drop this bad boy off,
05:44they haven't seen the vending machine yet.
05:46This place is like super classy,
05:48and we're about to put a giant smiley face in it.
05:51We'll see how this goes.
05:54Hello.
05:55Okay, I'm stoked about this.
05:56We're going to place a vending machine.
05:57You want to kind of think about it?
05:58Yeah, let's look at some places.
05:59We definitely don't want to do it here.
06:01Probably too much going on.
06:02Yeah.
06:02Right?
06:03So, we're thinking we're going to put it over here in this location.
06:05Yeah, I think this would be a great spot.
06:07Okay, sick.
06:07So, this would be a cool vibe.
06:09Amazing.
06:09Larry, we ready?
06:11I was born ready.
06:12This is where my gym membership pays for itself.
06:14Down the middle, Larry.
06:15We're going to put it right in the middle,
06:18so it's centered.
06:19Yeah, great.
06:21You ready for this?
06:22Okay, well, now we're just showing off, actually.
06:25Ready?
06:27Ta-da.
06:27All right, so now I need to get some help to fill these bad boys,
06:34because it takes about 15, 20 minutes to load the whole thing.
06:36Here's what I'm a little worried about.
06:37This stuff is expensive.
06:39We're putting high-quality, premium, healthy stuff in here.
06:41The way that we figured out pricing, though,
06:43is we just made everything 30% more expensive.
06:46We're like, we need to have 30% margin in order for us to make some real profit here.
06:49We got New Tonic, which sells for $33.
06:52We're selling it for $50.
06:53We've got Quest Protein Chips.
06:55Those retail at $2.47 each.
06:57We're selling them for $5.
06:58Legendary Pop-Tarts, $2.50 for $5.
07:00We're going to check these.
07:01We're going to let these sit for a few days.
07:02We're going to see how many sell, and if nobody's buying them because they're too expensive,
07:05we're going to sub them out.
07:07We also only bought about one-third of the inventory,
07:10because we were like, we don't want to have to buy the whole amount
07:12and have all this excess inventory.
07:13I've tried to find products that were hard to get.
07:16You can't just easily order them on Amazon.
07:18You have to go to their website.
07:19So maybe the idea is that some of these products are unique,
07:23and they're going to be like, I want to try that.
07:25This bad boy is live.
07:26You want to see it?
07:27Yeah.
07:27Okay, look what we got here.
07:29We got, so we have to set it up so the LED will be lit,
07:31and they'll see how it's done.
07:32We'll see what happens.
07:33Yeah, I like it.
07:34We'll see what sells.
07:34It all sounds great.
07:35Do you want something?
07:36Yeah, I'll give it a try.
07:36For our first dollars, no big deal.
07:38Thanks, dude.
07:39Appreciate it.
07:40Yeah, excited.
07:40Fun.
07:41Okay, so we put it in a vending machine.
07:43We got our first customer.
07:45We put our camera up so that we can see people using it again and again,
07:48and we filled it with the best healthy products we could find.
07:51Now we're on to the next vending machine.
07:55Hey.
07:55Hi, how's it going?
07:56I'm Cody.
07:57Hi, I'm Danny.
07:57What's up, man?
07:58Nice to meet you.
07:58You're running this joint, right?
07:59I am.
08:00Okay.
08:00So there's some options this way.
08:02So everybody who comes into the gym walks through here.
08:04Yep, absolutely.
08:04Come in the front, straight through here, into our mat space.
08:07So our mat space over here, we have really big kids' classes.
08:11Parents are all lined up against the walls.
08:12So another option is right here.
08:14This is sick.
08:15We got a plug up there.
08:16We'll put it right here.
08:18Everybody's got to walk by.
08:19We'll have our cool signage on the side.
08:21They'll be like, ah, look at that.
08:22Then they'll walk in and put their kids' stuff away.
08:24They'll kind of have to look at this.
08:25I think that's awesome.
08:27Yeah, excellent.
08:28All right.
08:28We found a location.
08:29Let's do this.
08:30Heavy foot traffic, number one spot, tons of parents.
08:32Absolutely.
08:33So basically in this one, we've got the unhealthy vending machine, which is the natural vending
08:37machine.
08:37These are way cheaper.
08:39So the most expensive thing we have in here is three bucks.
08:41That's jerky, feastables, pocky sticks.
08:44Our cheapest thing in here is a buck.
08:46So we have like Teddy Graham crackers.
08:47The idea is this is a volume game.
08:50If we're having four to five classes a day, 30 kids or 30 people on the mats, then another
08:5530 people watching.
08:57We're talking about hundreds of people coming into this place every day and sitting and hanging
09:01out, watching their kids for an hour.
09:03That's perfect.
09:04The idea is we can make up for the amount of cash that we need to make by having a lot
09:08of people buy.
09:09Larry, is it working?
09:10Looks that way.
09:12What a business, baby.
09:13So we found the gym.
09:14We put it in the right spot.
09:16The machine actually works.
09:17Thank God.
09:18And so now we are going to see how much money we can make.
09:21And I ordered my first piece.
09:22And I got to say, pretty damn good.
09:24I think this is going to work.
09:25Now for the plush bus.
09:27Hello.
09:27Hey, how's it going?
09:28Good.
09:28How are you?
09:29I'm Cody.
09:29Josh, nice to meet you.
09:30Welcome to Jugga Moon Academy.
09:31This is your spot, I'm guessing.
09:32This is it.
09:33Let's hammer through where we're thinking.
09:34Okay.
09:35So this is the front entryway.
09:37Yeah.
09:37How many people you got coming through a day, you think?
09:39Probably like 200, 300 at least.
09:40Wow.
09:41Yeah.
09:41Okay.
09:41So we have a ton of people coming through.
09:42Lots of kids.
09:43Yeah.
09:43So we got spot one here.
09:46Kind of like it, don't love it.
09:47Because I bet they don't hang out here, right?
09:49Right.
09:49They're definitely going to be in the gym more.
09:50After you.
09:51Holy shit, this is cool.
09:52This is crazier than I thought it was going to be.
09:54Yeah.
09:54There's a lot going on for sure.
09:56Okay.
09:56No wonder you have 200 kids coming through here.
09:58This is madness.
10:00There.
10:00I think this would be a perfect spot right here.
10:01Yeah.
10:02Parents hang out.
10:03Hi, parents.
10:03Hi.
10:05She's like, I want to be on YouTube.
10:07I want to be on YouTube.
10:09You are now.
10:10As long as it's okay with mom.
10:11Can I ask you a question?
10:12Yeah.
10:12Do you like toys?
10:13Do you like stuffed animals?
10:18Yeah.
10:19Okay, we got a game for you later.
10:20I'm going to hook you up.
10:23Larry, this thing looks ready.
10:25Should we rip it open and show it to him?
10:27Got a knife.
10:28Oh, finally.
10:28Ain't ripping nothing open.
10:29I'm kind of into this.
10:30There's a little violence for our YouTube channel.
10:32All right, let's open this bad boy.
10:34Dun-da-da-da.
10:35This is called the plush bus.
10:37Nice.
10:38And we need to plug it in.
10:38We need to make sure it works.
10:40We need to get to work.
10:41Let's do it, huh?
10:42Let's do it.
10:43I can see these little kids' eyeballs.
10:45Are you watching them watch this right now?
10:47Because I am.
10:47Are these ones with scam machines?
10:49Scam machines?
10:50Wow.
10:52It's like too hard to get.
10:53Yeah, they're like too hard to get.
10:55Okay, so we have to see if it actually worked.
10:58Hey.
10:59Oh, yeah.
11:00Nice.
11:00I think you go first.
11:02And then I saw your hand second, huh?
11:04Okay, now you stir it around.
11:04You got it, bro.
11:05Okay, now you stir it around.
11:05Which one are you going for?
11:09Ooh, ooh.
11:10Oh.
11:10Yeah.
11:11Ah.
11:14Go for the chicken.
11:15What do you mean go for the chicken?
11:17Go for the chicken's butt.
11:18Oh.
11:20Oh, so close.
11:20All right, what are we doing with these horde of kids?
11:23We're hoping that they buy a bunch of plushies.
11:25Or at least they try.
11:26So we put this plush bus in.
11:28It appears to be working.
11:29My money might be on this one actually winning.
11:32Or us driving the parents absolutely crazy.
11:36Let's see.
11:37So placing vending machines isn't just about convenience.
11:40It's about smart asset placement.
11:41A lot like real estate actually.
11:43But successful operators, kind of like savvy real estate investors,
11:47they understand that calculated risks can lead to big rewards.
11:51There is a way to dip your toes into real estate investing
11:54that's as easy as starting with a single vending machine.
11:57It's called the Fundrise Flagship Fund.
11:59So with the Fundrise Flagship Fund,
12:02you don't need to put up your life savings.
12:04You can start small, like $10 small,
12:07and still get access to the kind of real estate deals
12:10that, you know, used to be off limits to regular people.
12:13This isn't about swinging for the fences
12:15and hoping you don't strike out.
12:18It's about making moves towards smart and steady growth.
12:21So check out the flagship fund
12:22so that you can be a player in this game.
12:24If that's interesting to you, link below.
12:26Bad news.
12:26I was excited to see the sales coming in,
12:28but literally not a dollar has come through.
12:32At first I was like,
12:33oh wow, these are going to make all the money.
12:35But after looking at the cameras we set up,
12:37look at what I found.
12:38The card reader's broken and the cash doesn't work.
12:41Multiple times people come up and attempt to pay,
12:44but they walk away with nothing.
12:45The entire machine not functioning.
12:48We've got to call Larry and get him to go there and fix this.
12:52I don't know about you,
12:53but I never carry cash with me anymore,
12:54particularly at the gym.
12:55So we are missing out on nearly all customers right now.
12:58All right, we've had zero buyers
13:01at the one at the jujitsu gym.
13:03So let's see what's happening here.
13:06Oh, she likes my design.
13:07They're pointing it out.
13:09He likes it too.
13:10I told you this is going to be Instagrammable.
13:12Oh, they're talking about how they don't have any cash.
13:16All right.
13:16So basically we're having a lot of problems
13:18and the card readers aren't working
13:20and one of them can't even take change or cash.
13:23The truth of the matter is,
13:24it always takes longer than you think to start a business
13:27and you're crazy to think that you're not going to have some issue
13:29when you first open up.
13:31You're going to have issues.
13:32We're having them.
13:32I kind of expect them.
13:34It's just going to be,
13:35can we handle them and fix it?
13:37Yes, mother.
13:38We both want to know.
13:40Hey-o, look what we got here.
13:42Larry just replaced the motherboard,
13:45which means that we have,
13:47let's verify this.
13:48Is he putting in cash?
13:50Does it work?
13:51The answer is yes.
13:53We're in business, baby.
13:55All right.
13:55So we got all three machines, semi-operable.
13:58We've got the gym machine now available to take cash
14:01and the jujitsu machine available to take cash.
14:04But the credit cards,
14:05that's when the money's going to start to flow.
14:07Okay.
14:07I had to show you guys this because this is ridiculous.
14:09The plush bus is a totally different story.
14:11Look at this right now.
14:13We have no plushies in there
14:15and she looks upset about it.
14:17There's one lonely Spider-Man
14:19that these kids are frantically trying to get.
14:21This is actually hysterical
14:23because this little rascal,
14:25she told me that this was a scam machine.
14:27Are these ones in the scam machine?
14:29Listen, lady,
14:30it looks like I was the one getting scammed.
14:32This is the state of the machine right now.
14:36Not good.
14:37We can't have the machine sat there empty,
14:39wasting valuable hours.
14:40Turns out the quickest I can get any plushies there online
14:42is 24 hours.
14:43I also do have a couple of teddies at home for being a kid.
14:47No, Albert is way too important.
14:48We got to go fix a few things.
14:50We got a bunch of no-name toys
14:51and then we also got stuff that kids love.
14:54Sonic, Minecraft, Pokemon.
14:56I think these are going to be hot.
14:57So basically,
14:58we're trying to hide the really, really good ones
15:00because they might be way too easy to win.
15:03We're going to put some of the littles on top,
15:05make it not hard, but reasonable.
15:08Now, let's see if these kids are winning
15:09and check if we're actually making any money here.
15:13Looks like we're making money,
15:14so that's good.
15:15But they're winning a bit too much for my liking still,
15:18so it is time to be the bad guy.
15:20We got to break some kids' hearts
15:21and change the claw.
15:23The manual is in here somewhere.
15:25This is a way to determine
15:27how much money you're going to make.
15:29Ah, okay, we got it.
15:30So, to lower the winning percentage,
15:32you have to change it
15:33so the claw is appropriate
15:34for the size of animals that you have.
15:36Right now, it's on 60.
15:38It goes all the way to 100,
15:40100 being the hardest,
15:41or 99 being the hardest,
15:4260 being kind of right in the middle,
15:44and then all the way down to the easiest.
15:45You get one every single time.
15:47And you change the claw
15:48so that you make sure you understand
15:49what your profit percentage could be.
15:51All right, this is more like it.
15:53Okay, I'm going to leave the plush bus now
15:55to do its thing.
15:56We're a few days in
15:57and have made not enough cash.
15:59Let's see what we can do here.
16:01So first up,
16:01I've convinced the owner of the gym
16:02to send an email to the members
16:03to let them know about the vending machine
16:05and what's in it.
16:06I'm not sure it will do much,
16:07but we'll see.
16:08Next idea.
16:09Crazy idea.
16:10The thing to understand about this audience
16:11is they are all about exclusivity and scarcity.
16:13So I think we might sell more
16:15if we make it clear these are cool products
16:16and this is the only place in Austin to buy them.
16:19So we printed this.
16:20I'm hoping this year will help get some interest.
16:23Okay, here's the thought.
16:25It's ridiculous.
16:26One, people might take pictures of it.
16:28Two, they're going to be like,
16:29why would something in there
16:30make me look like Chris?
16:32Three, anything to get attention.
16:34Remember,
16:36most of advertising is called awareness advertising,
16:39which means top of funnel.
16:40It's just to let us know that something is there.
16:42So when we have a desire,
16:43the first thing we think about
16:44is the thing that we just saw,
16:46recency bias.
16:47I've also decided to drop the price slightly
16:49to try and push those interested
16:50over the edge into buying.
16:51See, that's a great ad.
16:53We're going to make so much money.
16:54I mean,
16:54who wouldn't want to look like this guy, huh?
16:56Let's see if I can get some excitement going myself.
16:58Hey,
16:59you look like you just did a super hard workout.
17:01I did.
17:01I'm exhausted.
17:02Can I interest you in a snack?
17:04Absolutely.
17:05I'm starving, actually.
17:06Amazing.
17:06Well, actually,
17:07do you want an energy drink first?
17:08I would love that.
17:12Oh, yeah.
17:13Pretty good.
17:14That's delicious.
17:14This is our vending machine.
17:15So if you need protein
17:16or any healthy snacks.
17:19So it's like a legit vending machine,
17:20not full of artificial junk.
17:22It's like the Ferrari of vending machines.
17:24Right.
17:24Exactly.
17:25Did I nail that?
17:26I think I did.
17:26I think it's working.
17:28So now we've got to go and see
17:29how much we've sold,
17:31what our inventory is,
17:32and what we need to replace.
17:34So we've sold 44 things so far in here,
17:37which is pretty good.
17:38You can see we've sold a few legendary.
17:40They like these blueberry ones.
17:41I'm shocked not more cookies.
17:42I love those cookies.
17:44Oh, wow.
17:44Check this out.
17:45These are selling well.
17:47The RX bars, no dice.
17:49These guys look like they're selling pretty good, actually.
17:52I do love the cookie ones,
17:53so maybe that's why.
17:55And we've sold nothing from this bottom one.
17:58We really need to sell one of these $50 products at least once a month.
18:01That would really make our month each time.
18:03So we'll see if we can set ourselves up for success there.
18:05Now let's go to the jujitsu gym.
18:07Okay, this one is doing worse.
18:08I've got a similar game plan to the collective.
18:10It's important to remember,
18:11this stuff isn't going on my social media,
18:13and I'm not doing anything you guys couldn't.
18:15I want to make it as clear as possible
18:16how much you can really make with these machines,
18:19and there's only so much you can do.
18:20So we're coming to our vending machine at the jujitsu gym
18:22because the unhealthy snacks, they're not selling very well.
18:26We're going to replace with healthy snacks
18:28and see if that helps us.
18:29Also, better for everybody.
18:31Let's first check out if we got any quarters.
18:35Nice.
18:37We got a few.
18:38I like that.
18:39We think the dollar machine's been broken.
18:41Oh, no, we got, dang.
18:44We got some cash in there.
18:46Nice.
18:47It's only been a few days actually working,
18:49so this should be good.
18:51We're going to fill with these.
18:53This is a healthy gummy.
18:55Snacks you won't feel guilty about.
18:57Before, we had a lot of unhealthy snacks.
18:59Now, we've substituted with protein snacks,
19:02with natural snacks,
19:04with things that don't have Red 40 in it,
19:06and we're going to see if that's what they really want.
19:08All right, one more thing.
19:10We've got to let the parents know we heard them,
19:12and we say, parents, we hear you.
19:16New and improved.
19:18Now with healthy snacks.
19:19All right, hooligans, time is nearly up.
19:21I have one hour to see how much money we made
19:23with these vending machines,
19:24and I've got to be honest,
19:25I'm obsessed with these things,
19:26and it turns out everybody else is too.
19:28Look at these people.
19:29They're on them like white on rice.
19:32So today's the day we get the questions
19:33that we've been waiting for answered.
19:35How much money do we make?
19:37Which machine made the most?
19:38Actually, I'm looking at it right here.
19:40Will this be the business that we dreamed it's going to be?
19:43I think we should reset the bar first, though.
19:45The average vending machine makes $75 to $300 in a month.
19:52So that's the bar we have to beat.
19:54Okay, moment of truth.
19:56Did my shenanigans increase sales at all?
19:59Do we have one of the best performing vending machines around?
20:01How many of these do you need to make 100K a year?
20:03That's what we're going to figure out right now.
20:05Machine one, the jujitsu gym.
20:07Where the guys are tough, but is the business tougher?
20:10Let's see how this shakes out.
20:11So it looks like we made $87 in two weeks.
20:16Let's extrapolate that out to the month.
20:18That means $174.
20:21So with my 30% margin, I'm making $52 a month profit.
20:26A couple ways to think about this.
20:28I need 47 machines to make 100K a year.
20:32That's not nothing.
20:33That's a lot of machines.
20:34But the way too to think about it is, I think one machine takes you about two hours a month
20:39to manage.
20:39So I make $26 an hour salary or $54,080 a year based on my hourly salary or rate, which
20:49is actually like a really cool way to think about it.
20:51Okay, machine two, the fancy gym with the people who are hot.
20:55Although I wouldn't notice because I'm a saint, obviously.
20:59So it shakes out at $313 we made in two weeks.
21:03So that's $626 a month.
21:06So with my 30% margin, I'm making $187.80 a month in profit.
21:11A couple ways to think about this.
21:12Way one, I need 13 machines to make 100K a year.
21:16That's not that many.
21:17That's actually kind of cool.
21:18Way two, one machine takes you two hours a month, remember?
21:21So I make $93.90 an hour or a salary, if I was to extrapolate that out to $195,000 a
21:30year, which is cool.
21:32Machine three, our wild card.
21:34I'm so curious on this one.
21:35This is the plush bus.
21:36We made $295 in the first two weeks, 590 bucks a month then.
21:42So with my 30% margins, I'm making $177 a month profit.
21:46There are two ways to think about it.
21:48I need 14 machines still to make 100K a year.
21:52And then way two, since it takes me two hours a month to manage, I make about $88 an hour
21:57or a salary, if I'm getting crazy with my extrapolations, of $183,000 a year.
22:04So total, $695 in two weeks, which is actually kind of crazy because that is $1,391 a month
22:12with three machines, which means I earn $16,680 per year with these things.
22:19If I replicate even just this amount with these three, I need about 16 of these to make
22:23$100,000 a year.
22:25And that would have me working like 32 hours a month if we're kind of being loosey-goosey
22:30here.
22:30You could just call me Tim Ferriss with my four-hour work week.
22:33Okay, our upfront costs were about $6,000.
22:36It's going to take us five months for us to make that back.
22:39By the end of the year, though, we think we could recoup our investment and we're profitable
22:44starting month one or two, which is pretty sweet.
22:48But I am actually really thrilled about our little money-making robots.
22:52However, we're not lazy pieces of shit here.
22:55So I think we should build a real business off of this.
22:58We're officially at a place where we could consider making six figures a year off of vending
23:03machines and certainly where we could be making mid-five figures a year off of it.
23:08But the point of this video isn't for us to be lazy, passive-income entrepreneurs.
23:12The point of this video is that we took a boring business, we made it a little bit more
23:16beautiful, and because of that, we get rewarded with more cash than the average vending machine.
23:21How much more cash?
23:23Well, we're making somewhere between two to five times the best-performing vending machines
23:28out there.
23:29You see what happens when you do good?
23:31You do well.
23:32You do well.
