JESS, 28, from Australia, has spent $40,000 AUD on her tattoos which currently cover roughly 95% of her body - and she's not finished yet! The self-proclaimed 'Gothic Barbie Doll' says that her unique style originated from her father, a tattoo artist who encouraged her to find her own style. Jess told Transformed: "From a young age, I definitely wanted to be tattooed. When I was only 14 years old, my dad actually did my first tattoo for me. My dad influenced me in the direction I've gone. He really encouraged me to look the way I wanted to look... He was a bit of a hero in my eyes." Despite Jess's incredibly supportive family, her look has not always been accepted by the outside world, with her receiving comments and judgment because of her ink. Jess said: "I've definitely had comments on my look like; do old ladies grab their handbags when you walk past them? One time, I was out with friends, and I wasn't allowed into a bar because of my neck tattoo. If I get denied access to a venue, it is a judgmental thing, and it is frustrating." Today, Jess has a plan to combat these judgments... With the help of makeup artist Rachel, Jess is covering up her tattoos and stepping into a new glam style to surprise her two best friends. Will Jess be able to get into the bars and nightclubs with her new clean aesthetic? Or will she be turned away at the door yet again?

00:00I've spent $40,000 on tattoos so far and I'm not finished yet.
00:05I have comments of people like,
00:07oh do old ladies grab their bags when you walk past them?
00:11Me and my friends, we went out in town.
00:13They wouldn't let me in because I had my neck tattoo.
00:17So today I'm making all my tattoos disappear
00:19and I cannot wait to see what I look like.
00:22I am nervous.
00:23I don't know if I can't decide if I'm going to love or hate it.
00:26My friends are going to spin out.
00:27Luke and Dinegra are going to spin out.
00:30No way!
00:40Hey!
00:41Hi, my name's Rachel.
00:42I'm Jess, nice to meet you.
00:44Nice to meet you.
00:46So excited.
00:47I'm so excited.
00:48My name is Jess.
00:49I'm a tattooist from Newcastle.
00:51About 95% of my body is tattooed.
00:55I've been getting tattooed since I was 14.
00:57I think I've spent around $40,000 on my tattoos.
01:00I would say my look is a bit like girly goth lad sort of streetwear vibe.
01:06I like to switch it up.
01:07I like to look different.
01:08So today we are covering all of my tattoos to make me look more like my best friend Danica.
01:15I will not be denied access anywhere from a bar or anything like that.
01:19So they'll be super excited to see how I look.
01:22So yeah, we're going to go out for some drinks this afternoon.
01:25Looking fabulous.
01:26See where the night takes us.
01:27Today we're going for a super bronze natural look.
01:31We'll be covering Jess's leg tattoos and her hands.
01:35And then we'll be doing quite a soft glam look on her face and covering her neck.
01:39And we'll be glamming doing some bronzed colours on the eyes and a natural lip.
01:44How do you feel?
01:45We're going to hide your tattoos.
01:46I'm nervous.
01:47I'm nervous.
01:48But let's go.
01:49Let's go.
01:50I'm using the Mel Pax coral adjuster.
01:53So this will basically give us a clean waterproof coating for the tattoo.
01:59And then we'll be neutralising it with some skin tone.
02:02We're starting with a light coat of the orange.
02:06It's all about building it up.
02:08From a young age, like I definitely wanted to be tattooed.
02:12When I was 14 years old, my dad actually did my first tattoo for me.
02:16I think in his eyes, it was better that it was a professionally done tattoo than me.
02:19Going out and seeking a home job.
02:21My dad has influenced me a lot to do with like the direction I've gone.
02:26So he was a tattooist for 25 years.
02:29And he really encouraged me to look the way I wanted to look.
02:32And that I didn't have to sort of fit in with everyone else.
02:35And he gave me all the tools to become who I wanted to be really.
02:39He's a bit of a legend in my eyes.
02:41My dad opened the studio that I work at in Walls End in the suburbs 16 years ago.
02:46Sadly, he passed 10 years ago.
02:48So me and my mum, we work as a team and we've got the family business pumping, busy.
02:54I've been tattooing for nearly 12 years now, slinging tats.
02:59It's crazy to cover all these tattoos up.
03:02Has there ever been a time when you've been faced any issues with your neck tattoos?
03:06Definitely had comments of people like, oh, do old ladies grab their bags when you walk past them?
03:12And I'm like, no.
03:14If anything, I'm going to help them with their trolleys or, you know what I mean?
03:18One time, me and my friends, we went out in town and they wouldn't let me in because I had my neck tattoo.
03:26If I get denied access to a venue, it is a judgmental thing that you can't get into a club to be tattooed.
03:33It is a little bit frustrating, yeah.
03:35If you're going to look so loud and you're going to look a certain type of way,
03:38you've got to kind of be unbothered by other people's opinions.
03:41This is the serum from Fenty.
03:46It's a serum and toner, so it's all about hydrating the skin.
03:50So now we're just using the Dior Backstage Foundation and it covers tattoos and it's waterproof.
03:57How do you think your friends are going to react to your big reveal?
04:01I think they're going to be pretty surprised because I'm obviously quite heavily tattooed,
04:06so it's going to be a big difference.
04:08My mate Luke, he definitely judges some tattoos that I get.
04:13So Danica, she's never really gotten into the whole tattoo thing.
04:16It's pretty cool, we're kind of like opposites.
04:18So we're going to be using very glamorous lashes.
04:21They're quite natural, fluffy.
04:23They're from Worldwide Lashes and I'm using Style Romance.
04:27Lashes are the cherry on top of the cake.
04:30It's essential.
04:31It's essential.
04:38Alright, we're all done.
04:40Are you ready to see your reveal?
04:42Yes!
04:43I'm so excited.
04:44Yeah?
04:45Yes.
04:46Come on in.
04:47I'm so nervous.
04:48Oh my God.
04:50Alright.
04:51Three, two, one.
04:55Oh my God.
04:58What?
04:59I don't even look like me.
05:01What do we call this look?
05:02The Housewives of Newcastle.
05:04The Housewives?
05:05Yes.
05:06Oh my God.
05:08What the hell?
05:10How do you feel?
05:11I feel pretty fabulous actually.
05:14Good job.
05:16I love the makeup.
05:17It makes my eyes pop.
05:19Super glam.
05:21Oh, look at my hands.
05:22I didn't know what to expect but I'm not mad.
05:25No.
05:26I'm not mad.
05:27It's wild.
05:28Why do my eyes look so blue?
05:32I'm definitely going to be taking some selfies.
05:34Oh yeah.
05:35And make a Tinder profile.
05:37See who swipes me.
05:40My friends are going to spin out.
05:41Luke and Janika are going to spin out.
05:42Yeah.
05:43How do you honestly feel about Jess's tattoos?
05:46I'm fine with them.
05:48It's more her face.
05:49One of her face tattoos, when she first ever got it, it's like a big one.
05:54I was sort of a bit like, that's a bit much.
05:57That's what makes Jess Jess.
05:59So, if she didn't have them, I don't know.
06:03I mean I love them.
06:04Yeah.
06:05I've always liked them.
06:06I think they suit her.
06:07I think she's very colourful as a person and all her tattoos are very colourful.
06:09Yeah, they represent who she is.
06:12Like her personality, like her quirkiness, like what she's in.
06:16It's just her.
06:17Yeah.
06:18She just big everything.
06:19Yeah, big.
06:20Big or go home, yeah.
06:21Yeah.
06:22It's gothic.
06:23Gothic Barbie pretty much.
06:24Sorry.
06:25Okay.
06:26And here we go.
06:28Oh my god!
06:29No way!
06:31What?
06:32Look at me!
06:33What do you see?
06:35What do you see?
06:36You look like you work in an office.
06:38You look like a lawyer.
06:39I kind of look like a mob wife.
06:41You look like a mob wife.
06:42You're giving mob wife out here.
06:43Mob wife wife?
06:44What?
06:45I actually didn't expect this.
06:47No!
06:48It looks really nice.
06:50Crazy, right?
06:51Like you can see my neck and my face.
06:53I completely forgot that you had your neck tattooed.
06:55You literally look like me.
06:56No, she looks like me.
06:57Yeah!
06:58Okay!
06:59Give us a spin.
07:00Yeah, it's for us.
07:01Even better!
07:02You look so good!
07:03I'm baffled.
07:04I'm baffled.
07:05I feel like I'm sitting as a stranger.
07:06Yeah!
07:07I feel like I'm cosying up to someone to give photos.
07:08Nice to meet you!
07:09Nice to meet you!
07:10Nice to meet you!
07:11Nice to meet you!
07:12Nice to meet you!
07:13Oh my god!
07:14We're stoked and baffled and speechless and over the moon and blown away by the way she looks
07:23now.
07:24I think she looks really good as well the other way.
07:26I feel like her style suits her a little bit more.
07:29Even though you look good here, I think goth Barbie suits you.
07:32Yeah, goth Barbie all the way, baby.
07:34Yeah.
07:35What did you think of everyone's reaction?
07:38I think they really liked it.
07:39I mean, I really like it.
07:41It's so different.
07:42So yeah, I think everyone was shocked.
07:44Alright, you ready guys?
07:45You ready to hit the town?
07:47Cheers!
07:49Cheers!
07:50This experience has taught me that I can still look slay even without my tattoos.
07:56I actually like it, which is not good.
07:59I mean, my look is quite irreversible.
08:02So, I mean, I'll be taking plenty of photos to keep this on record for sure because it's
08:08a big job.
