00:00I'm really pleased with the trial for what I've seen so far on this stretch of road alone there
00:03are five areas that would have met our pothole safety criteria defects which we filled in but
00:08we've also filled in 10 more areas of carriageway that wouldn't have met criteria but have passed
00:13the reasonable test what a reasonable person would expect us to do while we're here working
00:17it's running for the next six to seven weeks till the end of October in Hatherley and Chagford
00:22division and also in one of the divisions up in Barnstable people should expect to see a lot of
00:27carriageway improvements there's a common sense argument that says we've driven all the way out
00:31to in this case North Taughton and while we're here we might just as well fix those bits of the
00:36carriageway on either side of the safety defects to make sure we're not coming back to this road in
00:40North Taughton anytime soon I think it's really important that we do something different the
00:45public are aware that we don't get enough money to fix the carriageways to the state they'd like to
00:50see them this is my way of trying to support and empower the team to be able to use their own
00:55decision-making on the ground but also to try and spread the money that we do spend a little further
