00:00I want to start with Scooble.
00:02Scooble started in Miami.
00:04I had the radio call of that one for the Marlins.
00:06And it was Scooble and Sandy.
00:08And in no world could I have told you that on Friday night in Miami,
00:1310 runs were going to be scored in a Scooble-Sandy game.
00:15The way Sandy has been shoving, the way Scooble is just Tarek Scooble.
00:19Scooble got clipped a little bit.
00:21Augustine Ramirez hitting a 111-mile-an-hour homer against him in the first inning.
00:25Tarek Scooble, the line on him was three-and-a-third of four-run baseball.
00:28But he did, after allowing a fly ball out, lift his left arm up and start digging in his rib cage.
00:35Like you could clearly tell something was up.
00:37So he called the trainers out.
00:39He called manager A.J. Hinch out.
00:41They did a quick look at him.
00:43They massaged the left side.
00:45And Scooble immediately walked off the mound and walked down into the clubhouse.
00:48And the baseball world as a collective just held their breath for about 15 hours, 20 hours.
00:56Because he had no idea if the possible back-to-back Cy Young Award winner in the American League was going to have his season cut short.
01:04And you wonder, okay, what does that mean for Detroit, obviously?
01:08What does that mean for Tarek Scooble, who is throwing as well as anybody in the American League since Pedro Martinez?
01:13He's aiming to become the first back-to-back Cy Young Award winner in the American League since Pedro Martinez in 99 and 2000.
01:22That's a long, long time ago.
01:24That's two-and-a-half decades.
01:26Thankfully, Scooble's imaging came back clean.
01:29And A.J. Hinch said he is expected to make his next start.
01:32That comes at home against the Cleveland Guardians this week.
01:36Short throwing on Monday.
01:37And then we'll see what happens after that.
01:41But they avoided disaster with Tarek Scooble.
01:44What were your emotions when you saw Scooble was lifted from the game in the fourth inning on Friday?
01:50Heart drop.
01:51Yeah.
01:51Because all I can think about is Tigers fans, all of them gasping.
01:57Like, I feel like you could hear the collective gasp from the city of Detroit, a few towns over in Michigan.
02:04But luckily, he's totally fine.
02:09And if you look at the betting odds, we talked about this yesterday, for the Cy Young, BetMGM has not made really any changes.
02:18It is still Scooble's award to lose.
02:20They're giving him about a 95% chance of winning the Cy Young.
02:24So it's basically all wrapped up.
02:26The Tigers are in a good position to be able to handle this.
02:29They're six-and-a-half games up in the division.
02:31They can be extra, extra careful.
02:32They can put kid gloves on him until the rest of the season.
02:36He's thrown already plenty of innings this year.
02:39Tarek Scooble is the most important player, I think, in the entire playoffs.
02:45I mean, look at the Tigers.
02:46They are led by this guy.
02:49Their rotation is suspect.
02:51And if Scooble's firing on all cylinders, which I think he will come postseason,
02:54they're going to be totally fine because he is the best pitcher in the postseason.
02:59And it's good to hear all of the good news.
