In a significant move, the Indian cricket team has reportedly decided it will not share the presentation stage with Asian Cricket Council (ACC) president Mohsin Naqvi if they reach and win the Asia Cup final on September 28. Although Naqvi, as ACC president, is expected to present the trophy, the Indian side is unlikely to accept the silverware from him.

00:00We have some news just coming in this morning and that's how we're going to kickstart this
00:03edition with Team India's big stand against Pakistan and Asia Cup. India will not share
00:08the eyes with Pakistani chief essentially. Pakistan Mantri Mohsin Nakhvi, head of the
00:16Asian cricket body. Sources indicate that India will not take the trophy from the ACC chief,
00:23registering a protest once again. This is the chief of the ACC that India is now snubbing
00:29or deciding to snub. India will not take the trophy from the ACC chief who is from Pakistan.
00:37Nitin has more. The BCCI, I understand, Nitin, is also looking at the situation very, very
00:42closely, of course, doing what we can in a way to, you know, send out a statement or send
00:49out a message in that sense that it can't be business as usual, isn't it, with this country?
00:55Well, of course, Asneha, BCCI is actually monitoring the situation, whatever has happened during
00:59India and Pakistan game, be it handshake or be it, you know, Surkumar Yadu's statement where,
01:04you know, he dedicated a pin to armed forces and shows his solidity towards the, you know,
01:11family of the victims. But, you know, a lot, you know, have been told and have been, you know,
01:17covered right after that game that, you know, there was a complaint raised by Pakistan cricket
01:23both to ACC and there was one more complaint about the match referee, Andy Bacroft to ICC
01:29to remove him. But India today understands that it is very unlikely that Andy Bacroft will
01:34be removed or will be, you know, exchanged with any other match referee. But as far as
01:38the final and the trophy share is concerned, sources are telling that, you know, there is
01:44a thought process which is not absolutely confirmed, but there is a thought process that
01:47India may not be sharing the dice, you know, right after the finals. If India qualifies
01:52for that final, if India wins that final, there is, you know, likely chances that India may
01:57not take the trophy from Mohsin Nakhvi, who is ACC chairman. And as of now, it's just, you
02:03know, thought process. We may get some information in very recent time, but as of now, there is
02:08no official confirmation from BCCI. But yes, there is a thought process that India may not
02:13share the dice with Pakistan and also the chairman of ACC.
02:16The likelihood, isn't it, Nitin, given how India has done what it can to send out that
02:21message over the last couple of days, ever since that victory, also on Sunday evening.
02:26Leaving it at that, Nitin Srivastav getting us up to speed with those details.
02:31And after India snuffed Pakistan on and off the field, the Asia Cup, Rao, rages on.
02:37ICC likely to reject PCB's demand for the removal of match referee Andy Puff.
02:43By front, PCB has threatened to boycott their next fixture, which is against the UAE on the 17th
02:50of September, that is tomorrow. If the referee is not removed, Pakistan says, from the Asia Cup
02:57with immediate effect. Meanwhile, Team India is playing is their duty, but not shaking hands.
03:03Is there right in solidarity with the victims of the Pahlgam terror attack? Well, Pakistan is demanding
03:09that the referee for the match be removed here. India's cold shoulder continues on the field.
03:16Sources indicate Indian skipper Suri Kumar Yadav is unlikely to shake hands with the Pakistan side,
03:22even during their next clash on the 22nd of September.
03:26In Pakistan, though, the fallout is already showing. The PCV has suspended its director of
03:31international cricket operations, Usman Bhala, for failing to act on the handshake Rao before it spiraled
03:36into a big diplomatic embarrassment here.
03:39I'm going straight across now to my colleague Nikhil Naas, getting in more on that story. Nikhil,
03:46Pakistan are treating to, threatening rather, to boycott. You know, give us a sense of how
03:53you look at this situation. Mere smoke screen, you know, because they lost the match or is it
03:58really coming out of a genuine embarrassment that they feel right now? Nikhil?
04:02Well, at the moment, it does seem like a genuine threat because they've sent a written communication
04:11to the ICC saying that remove the match referee in Andy Pycroft. Otherwise, we will boycott that
04:17game versus the UAE. Now, remember why I say it is going to be a serious threat because if the ICC
04:26then does not intervene and does not remove the match referee, then there's only one option left with
04:31Pakistan that is to boycott the game versus the UAE, which has graver repercussions. What that will result in
04:37is Pakistan being eliminated from this tournament in the first stage itself. Everyone was expecting
04:43Pakistan in India to qualify for the Super 4 stage and it looked like that will be the case. But remember,
04:49UAE have won one game, Pakistan have won one game. The game between UAE and Pakistan will decide
04:55which is the other team alongside India that goes to the Super 4. And if Pakistan were to forfeit
05:00that encounter because the match referee is not removed, then that would mean Pakistan would be
05:05eliminated from the tournament and UAE go through. So, that would then be a big risk that Pakistan is
05:11taking. And I could, I mean, the way I look at it, I think the threat is genuine. Maybe after what
05:17happened between the two teams, Pakistan feels aggrieved. They're upset about the fact that the match
05:23referee in Andy Pycroft informed the Pakistani captain at the toss that the Indian captain will not be
05:28shaking hand. And they feel the match referee should have stepped in and ensured that the
05:32handshake took place. And because of that, they've issued a threat, which I think is serious in nature.
05:38More news coming in. Let's get in more details on what is happening as far as Uttarakhand here is
05:51concerned. Rescue operations underway here. Chief Minister Dhami is reviewing the rescue operations
05:58in the city of Dehradun. Pushkar Singh Dhami visits cloud bus hit Dehradun. Remember, it's battling
06:04again, again, the weather conditions and also not just that, but even floods that is now being seen
06:12in Dehradun at this point in time. These are pictures coming in with the NDRF, essentially involved

06:26city, the capital. The Chief Minister is there as we speak.
06:56Tamsar river is swelling up completely and pictures off from Dehradun city. At this point in time,
07:10the Chief Minister is there. Heavy rainfall causing the Tamsar river to overflow in Dehradun. Uttarakhand
07:16inundating the Tapkeshwar Mahadev temple. Relief operations by the NDRF on your screens at this point
07:22in time. They're underway as the river's water level rose significantly, entering the temple cave,
07:29reaching above the Shivaling. Authorities are monitoring the situation. The Chief Minister is overseeing
07:34the rescue efforts in affected areas, is what we know. Two people are missing in the cloud bus
07:40that has now hit the Dehradun. Cloudbursts triggering flash floods in Uttarakhand, Himachal
07:48leaving behind a trail of destruction. Dehradun in Uttarakhand, Mandi in Himachal are worst hit.
07:53A massive cloudburst occurred in the outskirts of Dehradun, following which the city witnessed
07:58landslides heavy roundpour in the Sahastradara area. The heavy water current destroyed houses,
08:05roads, washing away cars and shops. The recent cloudburst in Dehradun region has
08:10worsened the situation. Heavy rainfall has been causing havoc in various parts of Uttarakhand.
08:15NDRF, SDRF teams are carrying out relief rescue work in affected areas. In Himachal,
08:22heavy rains lashed the Dharampur town in Mandi, sweeping away vehicles, causing widespread destruction.
08:29Debrichokey areas adding to the chaos. Due to the rains, traffic has been disrupted
08:33in at least 493 roads across the state.

09:31Due to incessant rainfall in many parts of Uttarakhand, the Sastadara area has been
09:51infected heavily after the rainfall continued to lash in various regions of not only Uttarakhand
09:59capital but other areas as well. Right now we are reporting live from Deradun Sastadara area and you can see the Gushing water has not only splashed this bridge which connects the rest of the Sastadara area but it has also weakened the foundations of the bridge and it has caused tremendous damage to the bridge and you can see the water logging over here.
10:24There is no other way the water can be drained and you can see that people are facing hardship while crossing the river.
10:33The Sastadara river is also flowing in spate right now and you can see the raging rivers downstream.
10:40It has caused tremendous damage to the people who are living nearby the banks of this river and not only Sastadara area but also Maldev's area has also come under the ambit.
10:56The Sastadara river is also known as the river and also the river, the river which is the river but also the river which is the river which is the water which is the river which is the river.
11:03Thank you very much.
11:33Thank you very much.
12:03I'm going to go straight across to my colleague Ankit, getting in those details from the capital city of Dehradun at this point in time.
12:08Dehradun has been badly hit.
12:10Some parts of it, Ankit, just do give us an overview of the current situation.
12:14Which are the worst affected areas?
12:16What's the advisory for the people living there?
12:18Well, Sneha, we are reporting from Setsudara area and you can see behind me the visuals are redorous and you can see that the river, sign of river and the river drains are still flowing through the roads of Setsudara.
12:34While the main Setsudara river is still gushing in spade to the lower areas and it has caused tremendous devastation in Setsudara areas.
12:43Many shops have been collapsed, the vehicles were swept away, people are praying for relief and more than 10 to 15 persons are still missing.
12:55However, the authorities are claiming that they have been located and will soon be shifted to the safer areas.
13:02However, the main impact area is where we are reporting from.
13:07And there were many shops that came in the impact of Setsudara river and were collapsed last night when, after heavy rainfall, calamity struck from the Kaligarh hill area.
13:20And according to the locals, there were two instances of cloudburst which has wrecked havoc in Setsudara.
13:27While in other areas of Deradun like Maldevta, ITPAR and the outskirts of Deradun like Sehaspur, Vikas Nagar area are also facing the devastation, the calamity has struck Deradun badly.
13:41And it was the time when people were expecting that the monsoon will come to its withdrawal as IMD had forecasted that on 30th September, the monsoon will withdraw completely from Uttarakhand.
13:53And coming from Uttarakhand to Chamuli, now it has shifted to Deradun today.
13:58Some kind of reprise that the sun beam is visible, the sun has popped out of the clouds and the kind of relief before people were expecting that the rain should stop so that the relief and rescue work can be carried on is now going to continue without any hindrance.
14:18However, the muck lying over in the area, let me show you some visuals.
14:22You can see that the whole area has turned into a drain right now and you can see the car is completely buried under the rubbles and muck.
14:33You can see these horrendous visuals over here and the shops are closed.
14:38This was the area where people used to flock in large numbers and took leisure at Sehsidara.
14:45Sehsidara river is also known for its scenic view and one of the major picnic spots of Deradun.
14:53And it is now facing the brunt of nature today.
14:56Ankit, getting in those details at this point in time, those pictures speaking volumes of how difficult the situation is.
15:05Right now as we speak in Deradun, what about the other areas in this region, in the state essentially in Uttarakhand?
15:12Apart from Deradun, which are the worst affected areas, Ankit?
15:15Well, Rishikej has also been facing the brunt of nature's fury and the Chandra Baga river is flowing in spate.
15:23And we have some people over here as well.
15:27They are saying that their friends were washed away and they are looking for his friends.
15:33My name is Ankit, I have come from Malci area of Deradun.
15:38My friends have come with me to celebrate the birthday and we are having dinner.
15:41And my seven friends have been washed away with the flood and tree logs and mud and stones have come over the area.
15:48And we have run from there.
15:49I have requested them to run with me, but they have, they thought that I have been kidding.
15:55So they haven't run with me.
15:56Where were you staying?
15:57From and for a resort.
15:59Okay, so when did this happen?
16:01This happened at 3 a.m.
16:03About 3 a.m.
16:03Okay.
16:04So, Sia, you can...
16:06Ankit, getting in these details at this point in time, I am going to leave it at that.
16:14A report that has been sent in by India Today's Kunal.
16:18Let's take a look.
16:19Let's talk.
16:49side of the road and the hotels are not left here.
16:56There is no need to be there.
16:59There is no need to be there.
17:04Relentless heavy rains battering the hill state of Dehradun and Uttarakhand in the city
17:09of Dehradun causing widespread destruction, displacing vehicles, residents and shops.
17:14Look at these terrifying images coming in at this point in time.
17:18Strong water currents from a cloud burst in Sahastradhara, Dehradun have triggered landslides,
17:25heavy downpours, destroying houses and roads, washing away cars and shops.
17:30Images of water currents from the Haley region is what we can see.
17:38Massive rainfall on the outskirts of Dehradun, triggering severe flooding,
17:42submerging a temple under the swollen Tamsa River.
17:45Two people are missing. District authorities continue rescue work.
17:54Dehradun's rugged terrain, lashed by relentless rain, has left the Song River in full state.
18:00A bridge near Maldevata was swept away holiday has been announced for all schools.
18:08Late night cloudbursts triggered by incessant rainfall in Uttarakhand, Dehradun severely damaging a bridge near the Haridwar National Highway.
18:15The district administration is on high alert in view of the disaster with all government departments on high alert.
18:22The devastating cloudbursts in Uttarakhand has triggered deadly flash floods across Dehradun.
18:30across Dehradun that has inundated several residential areas.
18:33100 people have been rescued, prompting large-scale operations involving SDRF and DRF and PWD teams with specialized equipment.
18:42Let's tell you a little about the Trump administration's chief negotiator Brendan Lynch is in India for a crucial round of trade discussions.
19:04The India-U.S. trade talks come against the backdrop of Washington's decision to impose 50% import tariffs on Indian goods.
19:13A move that New Delhi is slammed as unfair, unjustified and unreasonable.
19:17This visit by Lynch is being seen as an attempt to ease the tensions.
19:21Officials are careful to stress that these are not the sixth round of formal negotiations but rather a precursor meeting that could be deciding the future course of action.
19:32India and the U.S. have so far held five rounds of talks with the sixth postponed last month after the tariffs were announced.
19:39India's exports have been affected following the imposition of 50% tariffs on shipments to the U.S.
19:45Last week, Prime Minister Modi reacted warmly to U.S. President Donald Trump's positive assessment of trade talks between the two countries,
19:54expressing confidence that the ongoing negotiations will pave the way for unlocking the limitless potential of the partnership between them.
20:03India'sσα, Sir, this recent trading points,
20:06India did not believe your life so far.
20:13India and the U.S.
20:20India, India, India, India, India, India and India, India
20:24Allah, India and India, India, India and India, India, India, India
22:15I don't think we have, you know, I've been very disappointed that India would be buying so much oil, as you know, from Russia
22:24and I let them know that we put a very big tariff on India, 50% tariff, very high tariff
22:32I get along very well with Modi, as you know, he's great, he was here a couple of months ago
22:39in fact, we went to the Rose Garden and it was, the grass was so soaking wet
22:44it was so, such a terrible place to have a news conference
22:48I said, well, let's use a beautiful white stone, emblematic of the White House, okay
22:53and it's been very well received, but we had a news conference in the, on the grass
22:59it was my last news conference I had on the grass, because everybody sunk in, you probably sunk in
23:04every reporter out there, they ruined their shoes, we made that change, it's been a really well received change
23:09for many years, it was a one-sided relationship, only now since I came along
23:14and because of the power that we have with tariffs, India was charging us tremendous tariffs
23:19about the highest in the world, they were about the highest in the world, number one
23:22and we therefore weren't doing much business with India, but they were doing business with us
23:28because we weren't charging them, foolishly, we weren't charging them
23:32so they would send in massive, you know, everything they made
23:35they'd send it in, pour it into our country
23:37therefore it wouldn't be made here, you know, which is a negative
23:40but we would not send in anything
23:43because they were charging us 100% tariffs
23:46and, you know, I'll give you an example, Harley-Davidson
23:49Harley-Davidson couldn't sell into India, there was a 200% tariff on a motorcycle
23:53so what happens, Harley-Davidson went to India and built a motorcycle plant
23:59and now they don't have to pay tariffs, same thing as us
24:03so what we're doing is, literally thousands of companies are coming into the US
24:09car companies, AI, but, you know, more traditionally car companies
24:13we have so many car company factories under construction or being designed right now
24:19and they're coming from China, they're coming from Mexico, I must tell you
24:23and they're coming from Canada, a lot of them coming from Canada
24:26but they're coming into our country because they want to build here
24:29and they want to build here for two reasons
24:31number one, they'd like to be here
24:32and number two, the tariffs are protecting them
24:35and number three, they want to avoid paying tariffs
24:38when they build their cars here, they don't have any tariffs to pay
24:41you know, when you build here, you don't have any tariffs
24:44I always will, I'll always be friends with Modi, he's great
24:49Prime Minister, he's great
24:51I'll always be friends, but I just don't like what he's doing at this particular moment
24:56but India and the United States have a special relationship
24:59there's nothing to worry about
25:01what is clamping down on Vladimir Putin's
25:05well, it'll be hitting very hard on with sanctions to banks
25:09and having to do with oil and tariffs also
25:12but I've already done it, I've done a lot
25:14look, India was their biggest customer
25:17I put a 50% tariff on India because they're buying oil from Russia
25:22that's not an easy thing to do, that's a big deal
25:25I'm going to go straight across, in fact, to Karishma
25:38for more details in the story
25:39joining us at this point in time
25:41my colleague there from Business Today Television
25:44there, all indications, Karishma
25:46that things seem to be going at least
25:49you know, at this point in time in the right direction
25:51but it's been pretty unpredictable
25:53over these last few months or so
25:55however, India is finally now also coming to the table
25:58and that's a good sign, isn't it?
26:02Well, Sneha, absolutely
26:03and what we're picking up from our sources
26:05and let's try and just do a quick revisit of the fact
26:08that this is going to be the first meeting
26:11after the tariffs were imposed on India
26:14and after there were punitive tariffs
26:17of another 25% that were imposed on us
26:20so between India and the US
26:22this is going to be first such formal face-to-face meeting
26:25that is coming in the backdrop
26:27of resumption of trade talks
26:29as you had already very clearly mentioned
26:32and the government of India has also clarified
26:34that this is not resumption of the negotiations
26:37but this is more like a testing ground
26:39of the fact that how will the future course of action be?
26:43But the sticking points remain
26:45two key sticking points here
26:46one, of course, that India is still not okay
26:49with the fact that they'd like to budge
26:52on their sensitive sectors like agri and dairy
26:55and second, should India's relationship with Russia
26:58be concerned and questioned
26:59when the trade deal has to be between US and India
27:04and should US utilize this
27:07to actually put additional tariffs on India
27:10or as a matter of fact nudge any other nation
27:13to put on us is the big question
27:14So today's meeting is important
27:16because it's going to set the ground of discussions
27:18for the future course
27:19and it's likely that it's going to be optimistic
27:21because if we see how last week went
27:23and like our viewers must have watched
27:25various snippets of Donald Trump
27:28talking about the fact that India and US
27:30are coming, have a stronger relationship
27:33and they'd want to be on the talking table
27:35I'm going to leave that for the moment
27:37Karishma Asudhani getting in those details
27:39as far as this conversation
27:41really with the US is concerned here
27:44The talks are going to resume
27:46and that clearly is a great sign
27:48Union Minister Piush Gul, though
27:50in an exclusive conversation with India today
27:52had said
27:53India is hopeful of a deal by November
27:55stressed that while geopolitics
27:57has overshadowed trade issues
27:59India-US ties are far stronger
28:01than temporary blips
28:03Sir, the India-US relationship
28:07has been carefully crafted
28:09and it's been a relationship of 25 years
28:13There has been, you know
28:16a measured, cautious, careful response
28:19from India
28:19every time belligerence has been displayed
28:22by the White House
28:24Do you see the trade talks
28:27moving in the right direction?
28:29Well, I think we've had
28:30very good relations
28:31for far beyond 25 years
28:33the US and India
28:34have been friends and allies
28:36for decades and decades
28:38so far
28:39but it has had its moments
28:41for example, if you recall
28:43when we did the nuclear tests
28:45in 1998
28:46the United States
28:47had put sanctions on India
28:49we were able to
28:50weather that's true
28:51there will be occasions
28:53when there may be
28:55certain blips
28:57in the relationship
28:57but I think
28:59it's a very, very consequential
29:00very strong relationship
29:02it can weather
29:03many storms
29:04and will continue
29:06to be
29:06a very
29:07strategic
29:08friendship
29:09a very important
29:11relationship
29:12we'll continue
29:13to grow together
29:14we'll continue
29:15to have
29:16a lot of
29:17business to do together
29:19all right
29:23so you heard there
29:24from the minister
29:24on what
29:25to expect
29:26in the sense
29:27that
29:27this is a conversation
29:29which is ongoing
29:29and of course
29:30that
29:31there would be
29:32some sort of a
29:33finalization
29:33in the trade talk
29:35sometime around
29:35the month of November
29:36meanwhile
29:38Donald Trump
29:38is aiming at
29:39NATO-EU
29:40and the G7
29:41demanding that
29:42they stop buying
