Mohsin Naqvi is set to attend the Women’s T20 Asia Cup 2026 final in Dubai as the chief guest, and his presence could bring back memories of last year’s controversial Asia Cup trophy presentation. According to reports, the ACC President and PCB Chairman is expected to present the trophy to the winning team after the September 13 final. The development has drawn attention because India could be one of the finalists. Harmanpreet Kaur-led Team India have made a strong start to the tournament, remaining unbeaten in the group stage and securing a place in the semi-finals. India also defeated Pakistan by seven wickets in their group-stage clash.

The big question is what happens if India win the title and Naqvi is on the presentation dais. During last year’s Men’s Asia Cup final, India defeated Pakistan but did not accept the trophy from Naqvi, leading to a major presentation controversy. The trophy reportedly remains with the ACC. With no official word yet from the BCCI or the Indian women’s team on the possible presentation, all eyes are now on the final and whether last year trophy drama is could return.
