00:00Joe Burrow, in the first half of the game
00:02against the Jacksonville Jaguars, is sacked
00:04and ends up with a very severe case of turf toe.
00:09This feels like we now, as a nation,
00:13will fully understand that while turf toe sounds
00:15like it's a nick, get out there with your toe.
00:19It seemingly immobilizes anybody that this hits.
00:25And Burrow is now going to miss
00:26a minimum of three months.
00:30We've even seen from the pro football doc, Dr. David Chow,
00:34he thinks this could be season ending
00:37for the Cincinnati Bengals star quarterback.
00:40So as I compose myself, as I say that,
00:43because I picked the Bengals to win the Super Bowl,
00:45I'll throw it over to a former Joe Burrow believer
00:49in Joe Lisi to give me your outlook on this situation.
00:53Let's not forget, I jumped off him.
00:54Yeah, yeah, you did.
00:57I said it to you last week.
00:59I said, I don't know if I, I got to stop, you know,
01:01picking up the things you leave behind.
01:03And so here we go.
01:04So he cost me a bet yesterday because I had two and a quarter.
01:08Okay, that's not, come on.
01:09But what I don't like, obviously,
01:11is he can't stay on the football field.
01:13I mean, it's numerous years now where Joe Burrow's
01:15had an injury, whether it be the knee, the calf,
01:18now the turf toe with torn ligaments,
01:21where it affects his team.
01:22Does it affect the Super Bowl odds
01:24and their aspirations to potentially win a title?
01:28Absolutely.
01:29Would I feel confident with Jake Browning
01:31at least trying to win me nine or 10 games this year?
01:35I mean, here's the thing.
01:38I don't think, and I've heard the reports,
01:41Kirk Cousins isn't going to elevate this team
01:43to a Super Bowl or an AFC championship.
01:45Okay.
01:46All right.
01:46I think you'll get the most, and productivity-wise,
01:49there's probably more out of Jake Browning
01:51that at least knows the offense has worked.
01:53I mean, Jamar Chase got his on 65 yards.
01:57It's not like Jake Browning didn't toss it around.
01:59I understand two touchdowns, three interceptions,
02:01but isn't that what Kirk Cousins does?
02:03So, I mean, what are we missing here?
02:06If the defense could take the next level
02:08and the next step and shut down opposing offenses
02:11to the point of 20 points per game,
02:14there's as good of a shot with Jake Browning
02:17trying to win a championship
02:18than with Kirk Cousins or anybody
02:20they're going to scrape off the street.
02:21So, let's just go back a second.
02:25I'll get to the Cousins stuff.
02:26Let's go back a second.
02:27Sure.
02:28For Cincinnati, why I think this is devastating.
02:32Oh, of course.
02:32It's devastating.
02:33But here's the thing.
02:35If they were 0-2, which they could easily be, right?
02:38Yeah.
02:39The game against Cleveland was, you know, nip and tuck,
02:41and they had a big comeback against Jacksonville.
02:43If you lose, Burrow, you know what it is?
02:46Four to same.
02:47We start the season slow.
02:48Joey B's down.
02:50What are we going to do?
02:51Instead, instead, oh my gosh, we're actually 2-0.
02:56We're never 2-0.
02:57We're never 2-0.
02:58And we're not even playing that well.
03:00There's a lot of season in front of us.
03:02Chiefs are 0-2 who have owned this conference now
03:05for, you know, more than half a decade.
03:08There's runway here for Cincinnati, right?
03:12And now Burrow's gone.
03:13And that is devastating.
03:15And the timeline that we're being given of a minimum of three months
03:20seems to be this ultra, ultra optimistic timeline.
03:25Now, if Burrow misses three months, I'm going to assume it's not like to the day,
03:30that would leave three remaining regular season games when Burrow gets back.
03:35I assume 10 wins will get you into the playoffs, right?
03:38Their final three games are at Miami, home against Arizona, and home against Cleveland.
03:44Burrow would be favored in every single one of those games by quite a bit.
03:47Let's say he needs to go 2-1.
03:49That means over the next 12 games, this team would need to go 6-6 to give Burrow a chance
03:55to, you know, go 2-1 and make the playoffs.
04:00And if that happens, Cincinnati at 80-1 is an incredible ticket.
04:06It really is.
04:06It is.
04:07Because if they make the playoffs, who cares what the seat is?
04:10Just give me a chance with Joe Burrow.
04:12The problem, though, is I'm not sure he's actually going to be back in week 16-17,
04:18the wild card round, the divisional round.
04:21And that's the struggle of this situation.
