The 2025 Emmys were full of surprises and a few snubs! As for surprise wins... 'Severance' star Britt Lower won best actress in a drama series, an honor that many experts predicted would go to 'Matlock's' Kathy Bates. And while stars from 'The White Lotus' dominated the best supporting actress in a drama series category, veteran actress Katherine LaNasa took the trophy home for her role in 'The Pitt.'

00:00The 2025 Emmys were full of surprises and a few snubs.

00:04As for surprise wins, Severance star Britt Lauer won Best Actress in a Drama Series,

00:09an honor that many experts predicted would go to Matlock's Kathy Bates.

00:13And while stars from The White Lotus dominated the Best Supporting Actress in a Drama Series category,

00:18veteran actress Catherine Lanasa took home the trophy for her role in The Pit.

00:22I am so proud and honored to receive this award from the Academy.

00:26The Pit went on to dominate with star Noah Wiley winning Best Actor in a Drama Series

00:30and the show taking home the coveted trophy for Best Drama Series, Over Severance,

00:35which went into the ceremony with a whopping 27 nods.

00:38Meanwhile, The Penguin star Colin Farrell surprisingly lost Best Actor in a Limited Series to adolescent star Stephen Graham.

00:45But perhaps no win Sunday night was more shocking than when Somebody Somewhere actor Jeff Hiller,

00:49a surprise nominee, won the Best Supporting Actor in a Comedy Series Emmy,

00:53beating out predicted winners like Harrison Ford and Ike Barinholtz.

00:57I feel like I'm going to cry because for the past 25 years I've been like,

01:02world, I want to be an actor and the world's like, maybe computers.

01:06As for shows completely shut out, The Bear didn't take home a single Emmy on Sunday night

01:10and neither did fan favorite series The White Lotus.

01:13While The Bear also failed to win any of the categories presented at the Creative Arts Emmys last weekend,

01:18The White Lotus did win there for its theme song.

01:20And some were surprised by the lack of politics brought up during the show,

01:24given the tumultuous week leading up to the ceremony.
