Hello everyone and welcome to my little channel. In today's movie from 1943 called Dead Men Walk, we have an interesting tale. A tale of two brothers, twins in fact. One brother is Doctor Lloyd Clayton, kind and understanding, the other is Dr. Elwyn Clayton, dark, ominous. Let's just say they are like oil and water. It seems that Elwyn is a practitioner of the dark arts. Much to the chagrin of his brother Lloyd. So Lloyd decides to take matters in his own hands, which doesn't to well with Elwyn's assistant Zolarr. Zolarr, sounds like a depression med and believe me with Zolarr comes many side effects. Living with these two brothers we also have their young niece Gayle. Gayle is engage to a doctor herself, a Dr. Bentley. Staring in this...didn't I buried you? film we have the great George Zucco as Lloyd and Elwyn Clayton, Mary Carlisle as Gayle, Nedrick Young as Dr. David Bentley, the one and only Dwight Frye as Zolarr, Fern Emmett as Kate, Robert Strange as Wilkins, the man we have all seen in classic movies but can't remember his name, Hal Price as Sheriff Losen and Sam Flint as Minister. So let's make some Twin Six cocktails and enjoy. Also thanks so much for watching.

00:00:00You creatures of the light, how can you say with absolute certainty what does or does not dwell within the limitless ocean of the night?
00:00:30Are the dark and shrouded regions of evil not but figments of the imagination because you and your puny conceit say they cannot exist?
00:00:43Whence came the story told in frightened whispers down through the ages of witch and warlock, werewolf and vampire, and all the spawn of hell,
00:00:57born on the sable wings of night to the unholy communion of the witch's sabbath.

00:01:44The angel of death has stretched forth his hand, and we consign this soul to infinite
00:02:05mercy. If there are any who care to look upon the face of the departed before he is carried
00:02:17to his final resting place, you may do so now.
00:02:35How can you defile this sacred house for the body of that evil man?
00:02:56How can you defile this sacred house for the body of that evil man?
00:03:03That servant of the devil? His hands are stained with the blood of the innocent, and his unspeakable
00:03:12sorcery... Please, please, you can't create a disturbance here.
00:03:18Dr. Clayton, I'm terribly sorry. Poor old Kate hasn't been quite right since the shocking murder of her little granddaughter last year.
00:03:27But I never dreamed... I understand. Why don't you please go on with the service?
00:03:33Dust to dust, and may his soul find mercy.
00:03:36Isn't it all for the best, Uncle Lloyd? After all, he caused you nothing but unhappiness.
00:03:46He was my brother. Yet he always seemed an alien soul, even in childhood. I believe he hated me all his life.
00:04:01After he returned from India, Edwin was like a man obsessed by a demon. Nothing was sacred to him. He had nothing but contempt for all that decent men hold dear.
00:04:20His mind became a black and evil thing, probing into the perverted knowledge of ancient sorcery and demonology.
00:04:29Must have been insane.
00:04:31We're all quick to call insane any mentality that deviates from the conventional.
00:04:38There have been many things in heaven and earth undreamed of in our philosophy.
00:04:49Now, David, you take Gail home. I'm going to Edwin's house.
00:04:52Well, you're sure you won't leave me, Dr. Clayton?
00:04:54Yes, quite sure. Now, run along, dear. I'll be home very soon.
00:04:59All right, Uncle Lloyd. Come on, David.
00:05:08I'll be home very soon.
00:05:38Horrible blasphemy.
00:06:08Stop. You don't know what you're doing.
00:06:26You'll burn yourself.
00:06:28Your brother searched the earth to find those books, and you dare destroy them.
00:06:34The earth will be a cleaner place without them.
00:06:38The fools who enforce the law believe his death was an accident.
00:06:41But I know you murdered him. You threw him from the top of the cliff.
00:06:45I fought only to save my own life. He brought his death upon himself.
00:06:51You lie. You followed him there to murder him.
00:06:55You couldn't get anyone to believe that.
00:06:58What do I care what they believe?
00:07:01You'll pray for death long before you die.
00:07:31It's not the only thing that he does.
00:07:34You tell me.
00:07:36Whatever that you don't know.
00:07:37If the entire family doesn't know, it's all the trouble.
00:07:39It will go.
00:07:41That's all the trouble.
00:07:42He's got all the trouble.
00:07:43I'm very happy.
00:07:45I'm happy.
00:07:46I'm happy.
00:07:47I'm happy.
00:07:48I'm happy.
00:07:50I'm happy.
00:07:51Let's go.
00:07:52I'm happy.
00:07:53And now, you had to tell Uncle Lloyd.
00:07:54After all, he's got all my guardian.
00:07:55Of course.
00:07:56Although, I won't be so surprised.
00:07:57He is my guardian.
00:07:58Of course, although I don't think you'll be very much surprised.
00:08:27Are you back already?
00:08:29Has the moon lost its appeal?
00:08:31Why, not at all, sir.
00:08:33I...
00:08:35Well, that is, we, uh...
00:08:37What I'm trying to say is that...
00:08:39Could you possibly be trying to tell me that you and Gail are in love?
00:08:42That's it, exactly, sir.
00:08:44I hope we have your approval.
00:08:46Yes, David.
00:08:48I know.
00:08:50Her happiness will be.
00:08:52I know.
00:08:54I'll do my best, sir.
00:08:56I believe you.
00:08:58I can face the future with a lighter heart.
00:09:00You speak as if you're in danger.
00:09:02No, not at all, dear.
00:09:03It just makes me feel happy to know that your future is assured, that's all.
00:09:07Hm?
00:09:09Hm?
00:09:24Not at all.
00:09:25Thank you, sir.
00:09:27You won't be happy.
00:09:28You have no?
00:09:29I'll give away some help.
00:09:30Yes, sir.
00:09:31No.
00:09:33I'll give away some other stories.
00:09:34Oh, my God.
00:09:36Well, there, I know.
00:09:37Have a good night.
00:09:38Come back.
00:09:39I'll give away some other stories.
00:09:40Let's see.
00:09:41Do you see them.
00:09:42We'll give away some more signs.
00:09:43I'll give for you.
00:09:44I'll give away some more signs.
00:09:45Oh, my God.
00:09:46I'll give a good night.
00:09:47I'll give away some of it.
00:09:48I'll give you some good things.
00:09:49There's a good night.
00:09:51Sorry, I'll give away some more signs.
00:09:53THE END
00:10:23I'll do it.
00:10:53I am not yet strong.
00:11:23But the power has been given me to draw everlasting life, from the veins of the living.
00:11:32They will give me the blood from their hearts, while I destroy them.
00:11:41I hide my coffin in the vault, and guard it.
00:11:50The power is with me only during the hours of darkness.
00:11:57From dawn to dusk, I lie helpless in the grave.
00:12:05In this case I fall into the face, and I lieosely down my forehead.
00:12:09Under the bald anal mirror on the light, I became conscious.
00:12:11As I understand my mouth, I have low 88 knots.
00:12:14I why not to be paralyzed so I even known.
00:12:18In this case I can take my chest.
00:12:20I lay a little bit exposed, than that.
00:12:54What do you make of it, Dr. Clayton?
00:13:22I don't know.
00:13:24She was in perfect health a week ago.
00:13:25Now she's dead.
00:13:34Do you think it was murder?
00:13:36I don't know what to say.
00:13:38There's not a wound on the body except the two tiny puncture marks in the throat.
00:13:42If the appearance of the body would indicate that she'd lived to death.
00:13:45I could tell you why she died, but you wouldn't believe me.
00:13:51Kate, if you go snooping around, I'll have to send you away.
00:13:55Oh, please, don't do that.
00:13:56I don't mean any harm.
00:14:00You're a good man, Dr. Clayton.
00:14:01Everyone knows the goodness of your heart.
00:14:05But your brother Elwin brought terrible evil upon us.
00:14:09He's dead, Kate.
00:14:11And all evil died with him.
00:14:13But it didn't die.
00:14:15It's growing stronger every day.
00:14:16That's enough.
00:14:17I suppose by rights I should send her to an institution.
00:14:32Oh, that would be needless cruelty.
00:14:34She's perfectly harmless.
00:14:37I'll take your word for it.
00:14:38I think I should order an autopsy.
00:14:45This may be murder.
00:14:47I doubt if you'd learn much of an autopsy.
00:14:50The bloodless condition of the body wasn't caused by any known poison.
00:15:08You burned the book that would have given you the information you want.
00:15:27Elwin.
00:15:29Did I startle you?
00:15:31I'm so sorry.
00:15:33But you can't be standing there.
00:15:36You're dead.
00:15:37No, I'm not dead.
00:15:41I have life far beyond anything you can understand.
00:15:50But that doesn't make you any of the less guilty of murder.
00:15:54You took it upon yourself to sit in judgment of me and destroy my mortal span of life.
00:16:02Am I losing my mind?
00:16:04There was no sign of life in Elwin's body when it was placed in the vault.
00:16:11You'll know that I'm no intangible figment of your imagination when you feel the weight of my hatred.
00:16:19Your life will be a torment.
00:16:20I'll strip you of everything you hold dear, before I drag you down to a sordid death.
00:16:28You never find me.
00:16:33You never find me.
00:16:34You never find me.
00:16:39You never find your soul, one other whitesix.
00:16:40Look at her.
00:16:42You never find your evil, God.
00:16:42You never find my or to växtหน.
00:16:43You panicked your mother.
00:16:45I'm sarcastic.
00:16:46I've changed my master.
00:16:46I think I've changed my master.
00:16:47Your life where youpara to go.
00:16:49I'm sorry bornego.
00:16:49I need whatever I have.
00:16:51You never find you.
00:16:52You never find me.
00:16:52Hey.
00:16:53I've passed me.
00:16:54Young love in the moonlight, the theme of so many poetic rhapsodies.
00:17:02Gail was an easy hypnotic subject, and I would have made her my disciple.
00:17:09To save her from being initiated into the dark mysteries,
00:17:14the eminently respectable Dr. Clayton stooped to murder.
00:17:20Yes.
00:17:22Your life, a menace to all this clean and decent, had no right to exist.
00:17:28That you failed.
00:17:33By the power of those I serve, my life is indestructible.
00:17:37Eternally sustained by the life I take from others.
00:17:46I'll take life from Gail.
00:17:48Slowly.
00:17:50You'll see her life every day by day and be powerless to save her.
00:17:54Man, old devil, I don't know what you are, but...
00:17:58What happened?
00:17:59Are you all right, Uncle Lloyd?
00:18:04Yes, there's nothing to worry about, dear.
00:18:10I thought I saw a burglar, that's all.
00:18:11Oh, you nearly frightened me to death.
00:18:16I'm sorry I frightened you.
00:18:17It was nothing but a shadow.
00:18:18It's very late, but you better go to bed.
00:18:19All right.
00:18:20Good night, dear.
00:18:21Good night, Uncle Lloyd.
00:18:29Yes, there's nothing to worry about, dear.
00:18:31I...
00:18:32I thought I saw a burglar, that's all.
00:18:34Oh, you nearly frightened me to death.
00:18:36I'm sorry I frightened you.
00:18:38It was nothing but a shadow.
00:18:40It's very late, haven't you?
00:18:41Better go to bed.
00:18:42All right.
00:18:44Good night, dear.
00:18:45Good night, Uncle Lloyd.
00:18:52Good night, David.
00:18:56It's a long time to wait.
00:18:58But I'll see you in the morning.
00:19:00An ambitious young doctor shouldn't waste his valuable time picking up pretty speeches.
00:19:04Good night.
00:19:05Good night.
00:19:18Forgive me, Dr. Clayton, if I seem to be impertinent.
00:19:21But have you told all the truth about that shooting?
00:19:25No.
00:19:26I have reason to doubt my own sanity.
00:19:29Why do you say that?
00:19:31I saw my brother, Elwin, here as plainly as I see you and talked to him.
00:19:36If it was no insane hallucination, it's too terrible to think about.
00:19:43Oh, don't worry about it.
00:19:47You've been under a great strain lately and you know what kind of tricks our nerves play on us sometimes.
00:19:52Yes, that's my only hope.
00:19:54If you'd let me take over most of the burden of your practice for a while, I'm sure you'd be all right in no time.
00:20:00No time.
00:20:01Thank you, David.
00:20:02Thank you, David.
00:20:07About $1,000.
00:20:09About $1,000.
00:20:10About $1,000.
00:20:11About $1,000.
00:20:12Oh, no.
00:20:14ais.
00:20:15$5,000.
00:20:16About $1,000.
00:20:17Hello?
00:20:18I'm good.
00:21:19Let them be the flickering frame of your life and borrowed vitality.
00:21:24The final outcome will be the same.
00:21:31In a short time now, they will call you dead.
00:21:35Then you will awaken and be as I am now.
00:21:38You will set in to pay me for it.
00:21:45Good morning, David.
00:22:06Good morning, Dr. Clayton.
00:22:07How is Gail?
00:22:12Is she any better today?
00:22:13I am desperately worried about her.
00:22:15In spite of everything I can do, she grows fairly weaker.
00:22:18Haven't you discovered the cause yet?
00:22:24As you can see, she has all the symptoms of acute anemia.
00:22:27And I am treating her for that.
00:22:29But I can't find a single case in medical history.
00:22:32But it develops so quickly.
00:22:34There must be something that can be done.
00:22:36I can't, I can't just let her die.
00:22:38Hello, dear.
00:22:57Hello, darling.
00:22:58I'm sorry to cause you and Uncle Lloyd so much worry.
00:23:02Now, don't you fret about it.
00:23:03We're going to have you up and about in just no time at all.
00:23:06I know you will.
00:23:08Isn't it lovely out here in the sunshine?
00:23:12But it's so different at night.
00:23:15I have such awful nightmares, I dread falling asleep.
00:23:18Why?
00:23:19What do you dream about?
00:23:21I dream of a horrible bat-like creature hovering over me.
00:23:24I try to struggle, but I can't move a muscle.
00:23:28Then it seems to swoop down and suffocate me.
00:23:37Where did you get those marks on your neck?
00:23:40An insect bite, I guess.
00:23:43I was rather unsightly, so I've been wearing the scar.
00:23:47When did that happen?
00:23:48I don't know.
00:23:50I just happened to discover the marks the other morning
00:23:52when I was looking in the mirror.
00:23:54Was it painful?
00:23:56No.
00:23:57In fact, there's no sensation in that particular spot at all.
00:24:03That's not.
00:24:06Dr. Clayton,
00:24:07don't you think Gail should have a blood transfusion immediately?
00:24:11Yes, I've been thinking about that.
00:24:14I'll advertise for a donor.
00:24:16I'd like to do it, if my blood's the right type.
00:24:19Good, I'll make a test.
00:24:24There's more color in her face already.
00:24:38How do you feel, darling?
00:24:40Ever so much better.
00:24:41I don't think we have any more to worry about.
00:24:45What's the matter?
00:24:51I was just clumps at that.
00:24:59What's the matter?
00:25:05I was just clumps, if that was all.
00:25:09Now, my dear, the best thing for you is sleep.
00:25:12Good night, dear.
00:25:14You're by far the nicest uncle anyone ever had.
00:25:20Hurry and get well, darling.
00:25:22Remember you've got a date for a wedding.
00:25:24I won't forget.
00:25:29Let's go.
00:25:50Dr. Clayton, is anything troubling you?
00:25:53Yes.
00:25:55I saw a face outside Gail's window.
00:25:57Well, that's absurd.
00:25:59Gail's window's on the second...
00:26:01I know it sounds fantastic.
00:26:03But I'm convinced that Elwin is responsible in some way for some intangible menace threatening us all.
00:26:09Well, that's impossible. Elwin's dead.
00:26:11I know it's impossible according to all normal laws of nature, but can we be sure there are no supernatural laws beyond our understanding?
00:26:18We've been watching Gail grow steadily weaker and weaker, sinking every day, and medical science could offer no explanation.
00:26:29Dr. Clayton, even though some things may be unknown to medical science, I'd hardly look to superstition for the explanation.
00:26:36Don't ask me to believe that Elwin's threatening Gail's life. The dead have no power over the living.
00:26:46I don't know what I believe myself. One reads of so many things for which there seems to be no natural explanation.
00:26:51Will you come with me to the vault where Elwin is buried?
00:26:58Why go there?
00:27:00Because if there is such a thing as a vampire existence after death, the state of the body will show the proof and it can be destroyed.
00:27:08Well, that's ridiculous. I'd feel like a fool, or worse, prowling around dead bodies of such an errand.
00:27:15Can you afford to be squeamish? Why Gail's life may be in danger.
00:27:21All right, I'll go with you.
00:27:24If what I fear is true, there's no time to lose.
00:27:45The coffin's been taken away.
00:27:54Perhaps it's been stolen by medical students.
00:27:57I'm afraid that's not the answer.
00:28:00Elwin dedicated his entire life to the dark powers of evil.
00:28:05What unholy forces he set in motion.
00:28:08Dr. Clayton, ignorant people believe that sort of thing in medieval times, but not anymore.
00:28:15I know there's a natural cause for every effect.
00:28:19And I don't believe Gail's life is being threatened by any supernatural power from beyond the grave.
00:28:24Perhaps you're right, I don't know.
00:28:26Dr. Clayton, I'd like to marry Gail immediately and take her away.
00:28:30I think a change of climate might be beneficial.
00:28:33I don't know whether that would be advisable or not.
00:28:36And I'll think it over.
00:28:50I hate to come to you with this, Sheriff.
00:28:52I just can't wait any longer.
00:28:54Well, what's the trouble?
00:28:56Unless you do something right away, I'm afraid Gail's going to be murdered.
00:28:59Well, who do you suspect of trying to murder her?
00:29:01Dr. Clayton.
00:29:02Oh, that's impossible.
00:29:03Why, Dr. Clayton's one of the finest men I ever knew.
00:29:06That's what I used to believe.
00:29:08But I've been forced to change my opinion.
00:29:10He's either losing his mind or is attempting to divert suspicion from himself with some fantastic story of supernatural vengeance from beyond the grave.
00:29:18Well, why should he want to kill her?
00:29:21She has considerable money, which he would inherit if she died unmarried.
00:29:26Well, Dr. Clayton wouldn't want her money.
00:29:27He has plenty of his own.
00:29:29Besides, that's a very serious charge to make, merely on suspicion.
00:29:33What if it is?
00:29:35I'm watching her die and something's got to be done.
00:29:38The other night I insisted that he give her a blood transfusion and immediately her condition improved.
00:29:44I myself could see how she became stronger.
00:29:47The next morning she was weaker than ever.
00:29:49Well, there isn't a thing I can do unless you give me some definite proof of criminal intent.
00:29:59After Gale is dead, you may be able to charge him with murder.
00:30:06That will be a great comfort to me.
00:30:19You might get her footsteps or something else.
00:30:20It's going to be a great comfort to me.
00:30:22So that's all you have for in your mind.
00:30:23You've got to be cut out for self-saving you.
00:30:28You've got to be a good time, you're in my house, you're sitting down and he's going to hold back.
00:30:30I hope you'repping yourself up for your house every day.
00:30:31I have to be, I hope you're enjoying yourself.
00:30:32Are we寂しい?
00:30:33Are we sleeping?
00:30:34No, just resting.
00:30:36I heard about what was happening to you and I had to come here.
00:30:38I'm the only one who can save you.
00:30:39I appreciate your interest but Uncle Lord's doing everything possible.
00:30:44I know you don't believe me.
00:30:45I know you don't believe me.
00:30:47You think I'm crazy.
00:30:49Everyone does.
00:30:51But I know more about some things
00:30:53than you'll find in all the doctor books in this room.
00:30:57You wear that scarf to hide the marks on your throat.
00:30:59I know what made them.
00:31:01I know what steals the life from you at night.
00:31:03And I also know what'll save you.
00:31:07There's no use for me to talk to Dr. Clayton,
00:31:09or no one else.
00:31:11They wouldn't believe me.
00:31:13The sheriff said he'd send me away
00:31:15if I made a nuisance of myself.
00:31:17Don't worry about that.
00:31:21I can help you if you'll let me.
00:31:23Here.
00:31:25Wear this.
00:31:27Wear it around your neck always.
00:31:29Never take it off.
00:31:31I naturally hold the cross in reverence.
00:31:35But how can wearing it be of any greater help?
00:31:37Because they haven't the power
00:31:39to touch a secret.
00:31:41They?
00:31:43Who do you mean?
00:31:45Vampires.
00:31:46Creatures of the devil
00:31:47who are neither alive nor dead.
00:31:49During the day they sleep in their graves
00:31:51and death like sleep.
00:31:53But at night,
00:31:54they have the power to roam the earth.
00:31:57Oh.
00:31:59I didn't mean no harm, Dr. Clayton.
00:32:01Don't be afraid.
00:32:03I know you didn't mean any harm.
00:32:05Exciting isn't good for our patient.
00:32:07I didn't mean to get her excited.
00:32:09I was just anxious to help her, that's all.
00:32:11I understand that, but I...
00:32:13I think you'd better go.
00:32:15The vampire is your brother Elwyn.
00:32:17Take his body from the vault and destroy it with fire.
00:32:19That's the only way you can put an end
00:32:21to his evil power.
00:32:23The body isn't there.
00:32:25Someone has removed it.
00:32:27You must find where it is.
00:32:29You must find where it is.
00:32:31That's the only way you can put an end
00:32:33to his evil power.
00:32:35The body isn't there.
00:32:37Someone has removed it.
00:32:39You must find where it is.
00:32:41Nothing can destroy his power at night,
00:32:43but his sorcery cannot protect him during the day.
00:32:45I'll do all I can to help you find him.
00:32:51Do you believe what she said?
00:32:53Isn't that why I have those horrible nightmares?
00:32:55I don't know, dear.
00:32:57It seems utterly impossible,
00:32:59and you don't know what to do.
00:33:01You don't know what to do.
00:33:03You don't know what to do.
00:33:05You don't know what to do.
00:33:07You don't know what to do.
00:33:08It's utterly impossible,
00:33:10and yet it's the only answer to an impossible condition.
00:33:14I've been convinced of some malignant powers at work,
00:33:16but I didn't want to frighten you with that,
00:33:18and I couldn't even believe the evidence of my own eyes.
00:33:24Do as she said.
00:33:28Wear this, my dear.
00:33:30It's the symbol of a power that delivers from all evil,
00:33:34and we need divine help.
00:33:36I need divine help.
00:34:06love,
00:34:08ain't this thing,
00:34:08so it's thé,
00:34:10to take no doubt,
00:34:12and if you want to master,
00:34:13comment,
00:34:18andо sighing your mind.
00:34:20Find this to be somebody who was dying,
00:34:22as an因为
00:34:24then diggined as a husband.
00:34:26And when the ability goes away,
00:34:27you need to partner with a man.
00:34:29ha's friend and maybe
00:34:30save him
00:34:31on the cost.
00:34:32Please,
00:34:33let's go.
00:34:34I can't stand this any longer.
00:34:51We've got to have a showdown.
00:34:53I think you're killing Gail.
00:34:56How can I be doing that?
00:34:58I don't know what devilish means you're using.
00:35:00But if she dies, I'll kill you.
00:35:05I've done everything in my power to save her.
00:35:08Don't expect me to believe that.
00:35:11Anyone with the slightest medical knowledge
00:35:12can see that she's not suffering from any normal disease.
00:35:15Her vitality is being systematically destroyed.
00:35:19That's true.
00:35:21I don't know how I can make you believe
00:35:23what my own common sense calls impossible.
00:35:27Her life is threatened by some abnormal creature
00:35:30that has no right to exist.
00:35:32That abnormal creature is human,
00:35:34not a ghost returning from the grave.
00:35:37If I could possibly do so, I'd take her away from here.
00:35:40But the law protects you.
00:35:43All I can do is hold you responsible for her life.
00:35:47If she dies,
00:35:49so will you.
00:35:53I don't blame you for suspecting me.
00:35:55I don't blame you for thinking possibly
00:35:57that I'm a homicidal maniac.
00:36:00But the truth is even more unbelievable.
00:36:04I honestly believe that she's better off here
00:36:06than if you took her away.
00:36:08But why don't you stay and watch over her?
00:36:12I'd be glad to have your help.
00:36:14I'm sorry if I've done you an injustice.
00:36:29But I've been so worried about Gail,
00:36:31I've nearly lost my mind.
00:36:32I understand.
00:36:34And I sympathize with you with all my heart.
00:36:37Let's go up and see how she is.
00:36:38How do you feel, dear?
00:36:59A little better.
00:37:01And I was in trouble with any nightmares.
00:37:03Good. Go back to sleep.
00:37:04I'm going to sit here beside you for a while.
00:37:06It'll be nice to know that you're near me,
00:37:09even when I'm asleep.
00:37:11I believe you won't be troubled with any more nightmares.
00:37:14Good night, dear.
00:37:16Good night, Uncle Lord.
00:37:23When they're all asleep,
00:37:24break into the house
00:37:25and get the chain from around her neck, Zola.
00:37:29You can do it, I can't.
00:37:31I will do as you say, Master.
00:37:36I can't believe you.
00:37:38I'll do things then.
00:37:39I'll do it tonight.
00:37:39I'll do it.
00:37:43I'll do it.
00:37:43I'll do it.
00:37:43Let's go.
00:37:45I'll do it.
00:37:46Let's move.
00:37:47Give some space to my mind.
00:37:47Only five minutes.
00:37:49It's going to these two deadlines.
00:37:52Within the house,
00:37:53I'll do it with the chance of hanging out.
00:37:55I'll do it.
00:38:03I'll tell you what I can do.
00:39:35What do you want with me?
00:39:36I didn't do anything.
00:39:37Quiet, or I'll break your neck.
00:39:38What do you know about this?
00:39:40That's Elwyn's servant.
00:39:42What's he doing here?
00:39:43It looked as if he were trying to strangle Gale.
00:39:45I wasn't going to hurt him.
00:39:46What were you doing in the room?
00:39:48Elwyn sent him for some purpose.
00:39:50You're the one who removed Elwyn's body from the vault.
00:39:54Where did you hide it?
00:39:55I don't know what you're talking about.
00:39:57Elwyn is dead.
00:39:58What's all?
00:39:58He's neither dead nor alive.
00:40:00He's a vampire.
00:40:02And Gale will never be out of danger until his body is in ashes.
00:40:05What is this talk about, Brad?
00:40:06I know you don't believe him, but I can't let that sound in my way now.
00:40:10I'll hesitate at nothing to make you talk.
00:40:13Where does he lie hidden during the day?
00:40:16You'll never know.
00:40:18No, you don't.
00:40:18And I want to know what you're doing in this house.
00:40:23There he goes.
00:40:26What chance have you against me?
00:40:31I have powers at my command far beyond your wildest dream.
00:40:36Your life is forfeit any time I care to take it.
00:40:48It's not possible.
00:40:57It is possible.
00:40:59Now you know what we're up against.
00:41:02What can we do against a creature like that?
00:41:05Despite what he said, he can be destroyed.
00:41:08In the meantime, you guard Gale.
00:41:09Don't leave it alone for a minute.
00:41:11Yes, sir.
00:41:18You've failed.
00:41:22I couldn't help it.
00:41:24He woke up.
00:41:25I'll try again.
00:41:26That opportunity is gone.
00:41:28I'll be on their guard now.
00:41:31You must try something else.
00:41:48Good evening, Sheriff.
00:42:05Good evening, Doctor.
00:42:07Young Bentley made some wild talk before church this morning.
00:42:11Yes, he was half out of his mind with worry.
00:42:14He came here to accuse me of trying to murder Gale.
00:42:17Yes, that was it.
00:42:20But you don't believe that.
00:42:21No.
00:42:23But others heard.
00:42:24Gossip has gone all around.
00:42:29Inconsiderable feeling has been stirred up.
00:42:30And there's no telling what some irresponsible hothead might do.
00:42:34I'm sorry to have people feel that way about me.
00:42:36But I don't see what I can do about it.
00:42:39Well, I suggest that you go away for a while.
00:42:42They'll soon cool down and come to their senses.
00:42:45But I can't leave.
00:42:46I have work here that must be done.
00:43:16I can't leave.
00:43:17Well, I'll stay.
00:43:18Oh, my gosh.
00:43:19Let's go.
00:43:20My gosh.
00:43:21No, that's it.
00:43:22Okay.
00:43:23Go.
00:43:23I've heard.
00:43:24Go.
00:43:27Go.
00:43:28Go.
00:44:28So this is where you lie hidden during the day, the color in your face proving you're a vampire, and not one of the honest dead who rests in peace.
00:44:46Dr. Clayton will believe me when he sees you, and fire will destroy your evil powers.
00:45:44Thank you, sir.
00:45:45When people are dying and no one knows the reason why it looks like murder to me, then we'd
00:45:47better do something about it.
00:45:48We will.
00:45:49I don't like that kind of talk, Wilkins.
00:45:50Maybe we don't like the way you're not doing anything.
00:45:52I'm doing everything possible.
00:45:54There's not the slightest proof of murder against anyone.
00:45:57And I'll throw you in jail for inciting mob violence if you don't keep crying.
00:46:04Oh, Kate's been murdered.
00:46:06Murdered?
00:46:07Where did this happen?
00:46:08In that old abandoned cemetery.
00:46:10I heard her scream, but by the time I got there, she's dead.
00:46:13Her neck was broken.
00:46:14Did you see anyone?
00:46:16No, and I didn't hang around looking for anyone.
00:46:19I ain't lost no crazy murderers.
00:46:21Oh, Kate never harmed a soul in her life.
00:46:22Her death is proof enough that there's a crazy killer roaming around.
00:46:25You may have to find him is my business.
00:46:28I'll not stand for any mob picking matters in their own hands.
00:46:31That's final.
00:46:33Take me to where the body is.
00:46:35Hm?
00:46:37Yeah.
00:46:42We'd better do something pretty quick.
00:46:55Oh.
00:46:56Okay.
00:46:58I'm just saying I'd try you under.
00:47:00Too bad.
00:47:01See?
00:47:02Bye, already?
00:47:03I'm going to stop the clock.
00:47:05That's bad than I yet to stop.
00:47:07Right, now.
00:47:08We'll get um, okay.
00:47:10Maybe if you're a man.
00:47:15Not really to stop and stop?
00:47:16Get up with me.
00:47:18Just please.
00:47:49Why am I here?
00:48:04Old Kate found you and I had to kill her.
00:48:07I knew they'd searched the cemetery, so I brought you here.
00:48:12You will be well rewarded for your faithful service.
00:48:15But make a secret crypt for me here, where I can remain undisturbed.
00:48:23Everything will be as you say.
00:48:29Oh, mighty Lord of the Abyss, your servant bows in eternal obedience to your will.
00:48:35Time has come when I must destroy all those who stand in our way.
00:52:49That you should be guarding Gail
00:52:51But she's all right
00:52:52I look in every few minutes
00:52:53Did you find the hiding place?
00:52:55Yes.
00:52:56When I was too late
00:52:57Coffin had been removed
00:53:01I don't know why I didn't think
00:53:03To search the old cemetery before
00:53:05Before Kate sacrificed her life
00:53:08We stood around long enough
00:53:09Waiting for the sheriff to do something
00:53:10I got a sheriff to do something.
00:53:11All right, all right, get out!
00:53:21Gail's all right, she's sleeping like a baby.
00:53:23Oh, yeah.
00:53:25What's her next move?
00:53:27I don't know, we must find that coffin.
00:53:30I don't know where to search.
00:53:32Why don't we just try and think of all the logical places?
00:53:36Evelyn's house.
00:53:38Might have been taken there.
00:53:48That's worth trying.
00:53:50Dr. Trayton, you stay here with Gail.
00:53:55Let me go.
00:53:57No.
00:53:59I told you before, I feel that I must be the one
00:54:01to destroy him.
00:54:03We were brothers, and there was a bond of hatred between us
00:54:06that lasted a lifetime.
00:54:08If I fail, then you must be the one to take up the fight.
00:54:15For Gail's sake and for the sake of mankind.
00:54:36some of you men surround the house, the rest come with me.
00:54:45Where's Dr. Clayton?
00:54:49He's not here.
00:54:50Where is he?
00:54:51What do you want with him?
00:54:52We're going to stop him from committing any more crazy murders.
00:54:56Dr. Clayton is innocent.
00:54:57Well, you said yourself he was trying to murder Gail.
00:54:59I was wrong.
00:55:00Please believe me, terribly wrong.
00:55:01No, you weren't.
00:55:02You were right.
00:55:03I saw the proof tonight with my own eyes, and I caught him red-handed.
00:55:06That couldn't have been Dr. Clayton.
00:55:07It was his brother, Elwin.
00:55:08Have you gone crazy?
00:55:09Elwin Clayton is dead.
00:55:10Everyone knows that.
00:55:11You don't understand.
00:55:12I don't understand why you're trying to protect him.
00:55:13All right, men.
00:55:14Go ahead and search the house.
00:55:15Go ahead and search the house.
00:55:16You're going to stop him from committing any more crazy murders.
00:55:18You're going to stop him from committing any more crazy murders.
00:55:20Dr. Clayton is innocent.
00:55:21Well, you said yourself he was trying to murder Gail.
00:55:23I was wrong.
00:55:24Please believe me.
00:55:25Terribly wrong.
00:55:26I don't know if anyone knows that.
00:55:28You don't understand.
00:55:29I don't understand why you're trying to protect him.
00:55:32All right, men.
00:55:32Go ahead and search the house.
00:55:34Come on, you.
00:55:38Wilkins, you stupid bull.
00:55:39There, you.
00:55:41Go ahead with the search, men.
00:55:56Operator operator now you don't believe me you're making a terrible mistake
00:56:25I'm telling you the truth when I say that Elwin's responsible for those murders
00:56:29I'm beginning to believe that you're just as crazy and dangerous as duck click
00:56:55You'll never leave here alive
00:57:16Well wait here he's got to come back sometime
00:57:45Would you look at this a book on witchcraft and vampires
00:58:07No one in his right mind would read this sort of trash
00:58:12It would soon be daylight
00:58:21I suppose he just went out for an evening stroll
00:58:25You wouldn't understand
00:58:26I understand about murder and I know what to do about it
00:58:31Master
00:58:44You don't wait for death
00:58:56You'll come to meet him
00:59:02Carry this thought with you to your death
00:59:12Gale will become a vampire
00:59:15A slave to my will forever
00:59:18The End
00:59:27The End
00:59:57I've got him.
01:00:02I got him.
01:00:04I got him.
01:00:09He got away.
01:00:10Come on.
01:00:16There he goes.
01:00:28Master!
01:00:37Master!
01:00:38Master!
01:00:48You're weakening, aren't you?
01:00:50Your time has almost come.
01:00:57Don, you'll be as helpless as one truly did.
01:01:18Master!
01:01:20Master!
01:01:27Master!
01:01:30Let me go!
01:01:31You must be burned alive!
01:01:33Hold you here even if it costs me my life!
01:01:36Master!
01:01:37Master!
01:01:48Look!
01:01:49Good heavens!
01:01:50There's two of them!
01:01:58Master!
01:01:59Master!
01:02:03Master!
01:02:19Greater love hath no man than that he lay down his life for his friends.
