00:05declaring himself the most qualified candidate to unseat President William Ruto in 2027.
00:12Speaking in Moranga in Central Kenya, Gashagwa asserted that Kenyans have decided to end Ruto's tenure
00:18after one term and he alone possesses the courage and capability to defeat the head of state.
00:24He officially declared, I have agreed to run for the presidency.
00:30To fuel his ambition, Gashagwa has launched the Democracy for the Citizens Party
00:35and is courting support from his Mount Kenya base and opposition heavyweights like Kalonzo Musioka and Martha Karua.
00:43He also accused President Ruto of a scheme to fragment the Mount Kenya vote by sponsoring rival parties.
00:51But Gashagwa faces monumental constitutional hurdle.
00:56His recent impeachment as Deputy President remains a legal barrier unless overturned by the courts.
