00:00What's up guys.
00:01Welcome back to the channel.
00:03Today we are talking about a movie that's been on my radar for a while.
00:07A new thriller based on a classic Stephen King book, The Long Walk.
00:13If you are a fan of cyberbull stories, dystopian worlds or just movies that make you think,
00:20you are in the right place.
00:22So what's the deal with The Long Walk?
00:25The promise is deceitably simple.
00:28It's set in a future America and every year 100 tennis boys are chosen by lottery for
00:34a brutal competition.
00:36The rules.
00:37They have to work.
00:39And they cannot stop.
00:41If you slow down you get a warning.
00:43Three warnings and you are eliminated permanently.
00:47The last one standing wins whatever they want for the rest of their lives.
00:53Pretty intense, right?
00:56The movie follows our main character, Ray Garrity, and his journey through this impossible walk.
01:02It's a story about survival, but it's really about the human spirit.
01:08The friendships, the betrayals, and the sheer desperation that immerse when you are paused
01:14to your absolute limit.
01:16Let's get into what makes this movie so good.
01:20First off, the acting is top notch.
01:23Popper Hoffman, who plays Ray, does an incredible job of showing us the physical and mental tool
01:30this work takes.
01:32And the friendship he forms with another character, Peter, is really heart of the movie.
01:39You find yourself genuinely rooting for these two.
01:41Even though you know only one of them can possibly win.
01:45The chemistry between them is just fantastic.
01:49Second, the director, Francis Lorians, who, by the way, also directed most of the Hunger Games
01:56movies, proves he is the master of this genre.
02:00He makes a simple concept feel so tense and grieving.
02:04The stakes are clear from the very beginning.
02:07And it's nonstop thrill ride.
02:11And finally, the movie isn't afraid to get real.
02:14It doesn't shy away from the brutality of the promise.
02:18When a character is eliminated, it's unsettling.
02:22And it's supposed to be.
02:24It makes the world feel grounded and the danger feel genuine.
02:29Now is it perfect?
02:31Not quite.
02:33One small thing is that while the journey is incredible, the ending might feel a bit unfulfilling
02:40for some viewers.
02:42It's very true to the book.
02:44But if you're looking for a net, steady ending with a big, erotic moment, you might be a little
02:50surprised.
02:52Also, it deals with some heavy themes.
02:55Like suicidal pressure and the idea of choose when there's really no choice at all.
03:02This is great of deep thinker.
03:04But maybe not the best movie for a light-hearted movie night.
03:09So here's my final take.
03:11The Long Walk is a fantastic adaptation of the classic Stephen King novel.
03:17It's not just a thriller.
03:19It's a character study that explores how far people will go to survive.
03:26It's got a great cast, a simple but effective premise.
03:30And it keeps you on the edge of your set from start to finish.
03:36If you are a fan of psychological thrillers, dystopian stories, or just want to see a movie that will
03:43stick with you long after the credits roll, then you should definitely check it out.
