Nirranda coach Reece Holwell speaks after his side won its fourth straight Warrnambool and District league senior football premiership.

00:00Reece, four in a row for the club, but you're first as coach. How good's that, mate?

00:04Oh, mate, look, it's, yeah, unbelievable. We were nervous the last ten minutes there, for sure.

00:10Yeah, the ball was just held up really well by the older guys.

00:14Look, mate, the effort was there this year. It was a big effort, and as I sort of said at the end of the game too,

00:20after five rounds, we were two and three.

00:24Sides and other people around the area, they were saying we were done, we were too old.

00:28You know, it took us a long time to get, like, Danny Craven and your James Wilshere and those guys back.

00:33You know, they didn't come back until probably round 12 and onwards as well.

00:37So, look, we peaked at the right time of the year.

00:40You know, we, even against Collegians, I reckon that, you know, there was,

00:45we weren't probably playing our best footy in that elimination final.

00:48But, you know, halfway through the Creek game, you know, the second half, we started to click,

00:54and that's when people started believing.

00:55And so, massive effort to the, massive effort to the group.

00:59You know, they're a special group.

01:01Obviously, we've got that good nucleus of the guys, you know, that have been there and, you know, won them before.

01:06So, if it was ever going to be tied on a day like today, we felt like we had the advantage, you know,

01:10with those guys still playing.

01:11And four in a row, that's not an easy feat.

01:13Not many clubs can say they've won four in a row.

01:15Oh, absolutely.

01:16And the other one is, you know, there's been three different coaches for that as well.

01:19So, you know, they have turned over a little bit, but to keep that nucleus group, that is what keeps us going.

01:25We just keep topping up on top of that.

01:28You know, and these guys, they get dragged along by that.

01:31You know, if they're not, if they're, you know, the guys or the new guys that are coming in,

01:34if their standards aren't there or if there's, you know, something off field they're not doing right,

01:39they, you know, they, you know, the guys that have been there long,

01:42they rally them in and say, no, that's not good enough.

01:44You know, we need to do it this way because this is an around away and this is what it does.

01:48You know, this is how we win them.

01:49So, you know, that core group, you know, you're always going to be hard to beat if you've got those guys.

01:55And look, even though we probably didn't have the best home and away season,

01:58you know, by finishing fourth, you know, we made the most of it in the final series.
