00:00We've got another great one to dive on into.
00:02These are the two-year-old fillies.
00:04So the gals, they will try to win their way into the Breeders' Cup Juvenile Fillies turf.
00:08I thought Corsia Veloce from the inside comes off of two really nice efforts.
00:13She's two for two.
00:14She wins a local prep race.
00:16She actually beat the boys in her debut, and I believe we have a replay of the win.
00:20It was a pretty professional effort from Corsia Veloce.
00:23What do you think about her and maybe the fillies that come out of that catch a glimpse?
00:27Well, unlike the last race we spoke on, this race doesn't have true, legit sprinter speed in it.
00:33So it's a little bit more murky from a pace perspective.
00:36This is a filly that's bred more to sprint.
00:38She's been really good in her two starts.
00:41Inside draw, not a lot of speed.
00:43Hasn't gotten out of the gate well, but I think her best chance is to be pretty forward in this race, maybe even on the lead.
00:48When you compare the sixth race that we just talked about and this race, they're so different on paper from the race shape
00:54because it looks like there's a bunch of speed in that sixth.
00:57Then in here, not much.
00:58Pina Colada could be one of the horses forwardly placed in here.
01:01She's not that fast early.
01:03She sort of just got the lead by default last time out, though, Scott, and she ran second.
01:08I used the same joke on another one of our colleagues, and I will with you.
01:11Do you like Pina Coladas?
01:14I don't.
01:15I mean, I like them in general, but I didn't like the race in general.
01:19It was a four-horse blanket finish, and she had things her way.
01:24I really don't think much of her chances in here, although Mark Cassie thought enough to debut her in a stakes race, but Pina Colada, Paso.
01:33What makes this race difficult from a handicapping standpoint is you have horses like the three and the four to me that I don't have much to knock on those lightly raced horses.
01:43I don't particularly like them as much as I like some others, but a horse like Sweet Fusion just ran second behind Corcio Veloce.
01:50No reason why that gal can't step forward, and even Dixie Law right next door, that's a good debut win, but this is just a step up, a big field, and a tougher group to deal with.
02:00Yeah, they're both stretching out in distance, both coming from off the pace.
02:03I prefer horses that were on the lead more when they stretch out.
02:06Maybe just a personal thing.
02:08Sweet Fusion's got to get out of the gate better.
02:10Dixie Law, interesting.
02:11This barn doesn't have many horses running at this level.
02:13I wish them the best.
02:14And we move next to Dance to the Music, the number five, Appleby, Godolphin, Buick, top-notch connections.
02:22I thought the group three win was solid.
02:26This horse was close up, kind of shaken up, a little bit green late.
02:30I thought it was like a workman-like type effort, so you can understand why she will be like a measuring stick in here.
02:37I thought there might be some other fun horses to bet, though, on the win end, Scott.
02:41I use this one more underneath.
02:42Yeah, I mean, you know, I'm going to play against the Applebees, because I think, you know, those stats that you gave are true, but he's just three for 25 in North America.
02:52A lot of them were last year and two years ago, right?
02:55Right, over the last 12 months.
02:56So maybe things have cooled off.
02:58Maybe the stock isn't as good, but I'm not as scared of them as I once was.
03:03I think if you can beat either the five Dance to the Music or the ten Deep Learning, it might be because you get in front of those horses early, Scott,
03:11because I think those horses will be sitting and trying to make their one late run.
03:15Hot Mash might be that horse on paper.
03:18She comes out of a really fast race at Ellis Park.
03:21What I liked about her in that race, she was quick, but she showed she could sit off a little bit, so she flipped off.
03:28That makes me think she might be okay trying to ration that speed going a little bit longer.
03:32And then when you look at her pedigree, she's a half-sibling to the grade one Alcibiades winner, Peace and War.
03:37So distance really shouldn't be too much of a problem for her trying to go a little longer.
03:42And you had her, I think, in an underneath spot.
03:44She feels like a real key to this race, at least kind of dictating things with her style.
03:50She was awesome in that race, and she was John Service getting hammered at Ellis.
03:54Not something that happens all the time.
03:56They knew what they had.
03:57But she's bred to be very able to get the added ground, so lots to like.
04:02Star Attraction was a maiden winner most recently over a yielding turf.
04:06Came from off the pace, although her race didn't get really graded very high when you look at speed figures.
04:12Same race that Pina Colada comes out of.
04:15I'm against the race.
04:16She got part of a four-horse blanket finish.
04:18She was three wide throughout to her credit.
04:21We were singing all throughout the show, Scott.
04:23Someone might be in the kitchen with Dinah.
04:24Someone in the kitchen, I know.
04:26Dinah is the next one up here, who was a little disappointing, I would say, as the beaten favorite in that catch a glimpse.
04:33Johnny V is going to jump aboard here.
04:35She's still a maiden.
04:36She hasn't won, but, I mean, she fits with this group.
04:40I just think she's probably going to be a little bit overbet.
04:42Could be, but I think the added ground to anyone's liking as much could be for her.
04:48She's kind of running even in both of her starts, and she is absolutely bred to route, not sprint.
04:53You see three Kevin Attard runners in a row.
04:57We move to another maiden, La Coulasse.
04:59She was third well-beaten last time out.
05:02She's just going to have to show a lot more than she showed in that debut, Scott, to be competitive here.
05:07Clearly, someone liked her.
05:08The barn probably liked her.
05:09A lot of people liked her.
05:10They made her the nine-to-five favorite six-horse field.
05:14But, yeah, that's about the best thing I can say, because she was a well-beaten third in the maiden group.
