In a powerful State of the Union speech, EU Commission President Ursula von der Leyen proposed suspending all payments and partially freezing the EU’s trade partnership with Israel. Citing a “man-made famine” in Gaza and accusing Israel of undermining the two-state solution, von der Leyen called Europe’s lack of action “painful” and urged bold steps.
The proposal includes halting the EU-Israel Association Agreement on trade-related matters and placing sanctions on Israeli ministers and settlers accused of inciting violence. But divisions among EU countries like Germany and Italy could stall these moves.
As the Gaza death toll climbs and pressure grows, will the EU finally act — or remain divided? WooGlobe Ref : WGA666180 For licensing and to use this video, please email licensing@wooglobe.com
