British Prime Minister Keir Starmer tells MPs that the suffering in Gaza is "utterly intolerable" as he repeats demands for a ceasefire and states his opposition to West Bank settlements. The UK government has paused free trade negotiations with Israel and slapped new sanctions on West Bank settlers to protest against Israel's actions.

00:00But first, Mr Speaker, I'd like to say something about the horrific situation in Gaza,
00:06where the level of suffering, innocent children being bombed again, is utterly intolerable.
00:13We repeat our demand for a ceasefire as the only way to free the hostages.
00:20We repeat our opposition to settlements in the West Bank.
00:23And we repeat our demand to massively scale up humanitarian assistance into Gaza.
00:31The recent announcement that Israel will allow a basic quantity of food into Gaza,
00:38a basic quantity, is totally and utterly inadequate.
00:44So we must coordinate our response, because this war has gone on for far too long.
00:50We cannot allow the people of Gaza to starve.
