00:01Previously on Project Runway,
00:03the challenge is to design an outfit to be worn by Heidi
00:07on the cover of Marie Claire.
00:09The cover!
00:11They're gonna be pretty short.
00:13I mean, you don't want it to look like clown clothes.
00:15I don't completely know what it's gonna look like.
00:18That worries me.
00:19Come on.
00:20I'm probably gonna screw myself.
00:26You did one shoulder in a new way.
00:28Anthony.
00:30You are the winner.
00:33It's like three ingredients
00:35that leave you feeling nauseous.
00:37Anna, you're out.
00:39Mila, which one of them will be in
00:42and which one will be out?
00:44I think I'm gonna give Carrie a shot.
00:47I'm sorry, Casey.
00:48You're out.
00:49This is Project Runway.
00:50Yes!
00:51I am fashion.
00:52Look at me.
00:53It's cut or be cut.
00:54Just make it work.
00:56Great clothes.
00:57Great style.
00:58The finalists will make it to Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week.
01:01Well, I won't do anything to win.
01:02I will.
01:03But only one can be the winner.
01:05My weapon of choice.
01:07For these 16 designers,
01:09Project Runway is the chance of a lifetime.
01:12The winner of Project Runway will receive a fashion spread in Marie-Claire magazine.
01:17An opportunity to sell their line on bluefly.com.
01:21A $50,000 technology suite to create, design, and run their business from HP and Intel.
01:27One at $100,000 from L'Oreal Paris to launch their line.
01:36Are you gonna be talking?
01:37Good morning, gorgeous.
01:39What?
01:40Being in the bottom three twice, it does a lot to your spirit.
01:44So, it feels so awesome to win, but I didn't get immunity.
01:49So, I gotta keep my eye on the prize and stay focused.
01:53Could you imagine what it's like for Anthony?
01:54Yeah.
01:55Being on the bar twice and then winning.
01:57I'm just so drained.
01:59I had the attention of the editor-in-chief of Marie-Claire, and she really hated what I put out there.
02:08God.
02:09I'm playing it safe today.
02:12Careful, because safe could get you kicked off.
02:15I'm getting to the point where being safe or being in the bottom is not an option.
02:18Oh, lord.
02:19And I've gotta start showing that I'm strong enough to be in competition with these other designers.
02:23Come on, Janine.
02:24We have a date with Heidi on the runway.
02:26Let's go.
02:27What are you guys waiting for?
02:28Come on, guys.
02:29Let's go to Parsons.
02:34Hello.
02:35Hi.
02:36For your next challenge, you will have new models.
02:38These models may not have that much experience, but they are definitely a very attractive little group.
02:47Hello.
02:48Would you like to meet them?
02:50Yes.
02:51Let's bring them out, then.
03:00Oh, crap.
03:02This is gonna be a nightmare.
03:04Your next challenge is to create a kid's look.
03:07It must be age-appropriate and, of course, fashionable.
03:11The whole thing changes.
03:12The proportion changes.
03:13The fit changes.
03:14You gotta figure out what it is that you wanna bring to a child to make them feel special.
03:19We have randomly paired each of you with one of these adorable little girls.
03:23My name is Ava.
03:24My designer is Jesse.
03:26Hey, Ava.
03:27My designer is Steph.
03:31Being a father myself, I know there's lots of things that kids are really specific about and things they hate.
03:39And I know what those are.
03:40My designer's name is Maya.
03:41My designer's name is Jay.
03:42My designer's name is Janice.
03:43My designer's name is Janice.
03:44My designer is Ben.
03:45My name is Lexi and my designer is Ansi.
03:46My designer is Nita.
03:47My designer is Jonathan.
03:48I am scared of children.
03:49I don't surround myself with children.
03:51I don't have any children.
03:52I don't have any children.
03:53They are very small.
03:54My name is Lauren and my designer is Emilio.
03:56My designer's name is Amy.
03:57I am completely ecstatic.
03:58I love mini clothes.
03:59Okay, designers.
04:00Tim will meet you in the workbook.
04:01I am completely ecstatic.
04:02I love mini clothes.
04:04Okay, designers.
04:05Tim will meet you in the workroom and fill you in on all of the details.
04:08All right, girls.
04:09Let's go.
04:10Hi.
04:11Hi.
04:12Hi.
04:13Hi.
04:14Hi.
04:15Hi.
04:16Hi.
04:17Hi.
04:18Hi.
04:19Hi.
04:20Hi.
04:21Hi.
04:22Hi.
04:23Hi.
04:24Hi.
04:25Hi.
04:26Hi.
04:27Hi.
04:28Hi.
04:29Hi.
04:30Hi.
04:31Hi.
04:32Hi.
04:33Hi.
04:34Hi.
04:35Hi, look.
04:36Hi.
04:37Hi.
04:38And look how small mine is.
04:39We've got these itty bitty little dress forms.
04:40Chest 26, 24, 27 and a half?
04:43They're itty bitty little girls.
04:46Good morning, everybody.
04:47So you met your adorable new clients?
04:50Yes.
04:50You each have a card with your model's measurements on it.
04:54You will have 30 minutes to sketch.
04:56Then we're going to Mod we will have a budget of $50.
05:01You have until midnight tonight for this challenge.
05:03and you will not see your new clients again until tomorrow.
05:08Happy sketching.
05:11Okay, what is she wanting to wear right now?
05:14I can't even draw kids.
05:17Designers that have been winning the challenges
05:19are really taking a chance,
05:21doing something that's a little more innovative.
05:23Designing a kimono sleeve romper.
05:26Maybe that's the head space I need to get into.
05:28Really just try to push myself,
05:30creating something that's a little more unusual.
05:32Find a way to interject Anthony into a little girl's dress
05:36when I celebrate the feminine silhouette and the volume.
05:39Honey, these little girls ain't got no booties or no breasts,
05:41so I'm not exactly sure how this is gonna work.
05:43And you know, I'm so about what's appropriate.
05:46The thing that's coming to my mind is a trip I took to Paris,
05:49and there were a lot of school children
05:52sketching at the Pompidou Center.
05:54So I've got this sort of schoolgirl Madeline
05:56kind of theme going.
05:59This is a tricky challenge.
06:00Anyone can go home on this one.
06:02I think all the designers are gonna try to be innovative
06:05and put too much of themselves into the design.
06:08And I'm just going the opposite way.
06:11I'm designing a pretty little dress.
06:14It's a very quiet room.
06:16We're concentrating.
06:17It's a very difficult challenge.
06:19Well, you can still concentrate,
06:19but you have to leave your table,
06:20because we're going to move.
06:22All right, designers,
06:23your 30 minutes starts right now.
06:26All right.
06:27You have the PS of that.
06:29The most key element in this design
06:33is going to be the best hoodie.
06:37And I want to do it out of black checker or houndstooth.
06:40It needs to be black and white.
06:41You know, it's basic stretch cotton.
06:44Where is it?
06:45If I was a little girl,
06:48I would wear green.
06:50I like that right there.
06:53Oh, I like that.
06:54Ah!
06:55Oh, look up.
06:56That's a pretty color for her.
07:00I think pink might be a cliché.
07:03Half a yard of yellow.
07:04I think we need to be a little bit more forward.
07:07Designers, you have 10 minutes remaining.
07:10Where's this black and white checker?
07:12They don't have it.
07:13That'll be the purple one.
07:15One minute remains.
07:19I'm hauling ass,
07:20and I come across the houndstooth.
07:24Find it upstairs in the wool knit.
07:27All right, this is all I'm going to stretch it.
07:29Time's up.
07:30No more shopping.
07:31You have to get a line now.
07:33I got it.
07:34Thank you, Mood.
07:35Now it's entirely up to me to deliver that vision.
07:39This weird draping seems like it's a lot quicker on a form
07:44that doesn't have any shape.
07:46There's a lot of black in this room for kids.
07:51Children nowadays are very fashion-forward,
07:56especially when you're eight.
07:58When you're at that age,
07:59you move on to wearing sophisticated pieces.
08:02So I'm going for something like a plum color
08:06grounded with navy blue.
08:09At this point, I'm feeling pretty great
08:11about the piece that I have.
08:13You know what, Jonathan?
08:15You'd save a lot of time if you just bought fabric.
08:17You're always making it, being all creative.
08:19I will not limit myself to what the fabric store sells.
08:23I'm going to do a dress under a short bolero jacket.
08:28And the short bolero jacket will have some strips
08:31of different colors of organdy.
08:32I think Michael Kors is really going to like it.
08:35He's like, she looks like a seven-year-old waitress
08:38from Benihara.
08:40The look in the end will be fun
08:42and at the same time be sophisticated and modern.
08:44It's as if memoirs of a geisha met Barney.
08:47Since I really like color-blocking,
09:00I just decided to do an A-line dress,
09:03something kind of 60s.
09:04It's modelicious.
09:05And it's color-blocked.
09:06Imagine that.
09:07When I first started Project Runway,
09:09I wasn't getting along with people.
09:12Oh, good, nobody dared go near my machine.
09:15Top two, top two.
09:19But now that I'm more centered in the workroom,
09:22I'm getting along much better with other designers.
09:25Add some color-blocking to your life.
09:27Mmm!
09:28Oh!
09:29Color-blocking.
09:30Has color-blocked.
09:31The pain.
09:32That could be a sermon.
09:33My design is very simple.
09:43When my sister and I were like seven,
09:45she was in a school play and she was a butterfly.
09:48And she wore this little red romper thing
09:50and I was always so jealous of her.
09:52I need to make that.
09:53You know, people are going all out on this.
09:56You know, lots of seaming, lots of details.
09:59But this needs to be something that a little girl would want.
10:04Your model's going to be such a badass in that.
10:07She's going to beat up my model in the playground.
10:09She's going to be hardcore.
10:10This is what they learn.
10:11And how old is your daughter?
10:12She's 11 now.
10:13She went through this phase
10:14and they still kind of do this pop-rock stuff.
10:16I know, I like traditional little kids stuff.
10:19Kids want to be interested in their clothes.
10:21They don't want some dull, boring Easter dress.
10:24They want socks, they want hoodies, they want layers.
10:28Make the clothes fun.
10:30Am I going to eliminate it because I'm a kid?
10:32That's what I'm saying.
10:43What the?
10:44Too big.
10:45Too big.
10:46I think it's really odd
10:48that we haven't seen Tim all day.
10:50Do we think we're going to get a little twist
10:52thrown into this challenge or what?
10:53Who knows?
10:54That's reasonable.
10:55If there's a twist in this challenge,
10:57I actually feel pretty good about where I'm at.
11:00Crap.
11:01But I think some other people
11:03would be completely thrown for a loop.
11:06I just feel like it's so yellow.
11:08When I leave the workroom,
11:09I'm a little bit worried.
11:10I don't think this is going to be enough for the judges.
11:13I know it's not extremely innovative as a design,
11:17but I'm hoping they'll see
11:18that it's appropriate for children's wear.
11:23that it's probably too light.
11:24I'm talking about
11:48little bit worried. Jordan, hi, it's me. Being away from my husband is really hard. I miss you,
11:56I wish I was with you right now. It's nice to have encouragement when you're really trying
12:02at something and you're struggling. I just would die for a hug and a kiss right now. I love you.
12:08Thanks, honey.
12:08Good morning, designers. Good morning, Tim. How is everybody? Good. I have a nice surprise for you.
12:22Whenever Tim comes in with that sly little look on his face and his eyes gleaming, you know there's
12:28trouble. These looks will not be walking the runway today. Really? Really? What? They'll be walking
12:38the runway tomorrow. Okay. With a corresponding look for your model. It's good news. It's a great,
12:48great, great challenge. But it's not to be a maxi me from a mini me. You really have to reconceive
12:54this for an adult. You will have 15 minutes to sketch. Okay. Then we're going to mood where you'll
12:59have a budget of $100. And I'm also very pleased to tell you that the winner of this challenge will
13:04have immunity. Okay? Okay. Thanks. Have fun.
13:07Jadam. What am I going to come up with that's going to correspond with a pink cupcake?
13:15How am I going to translate this little five-year-old princess dress for my model Holly, who's like
13:20six foot tall, Amazon. I am screwed.
13:24I'm really excited about this because then I have a chance to do something that's more elaborate
13:33and create an entire new look that will enhance the children's world look a little bit.
13:38Necklines can get lower. Hemlines can get higher. We can do more of like the sexy high fashion things
13:44that we're normally used to doing.
13:46Are you not sketching?
13:50No. I took all my likes and put it into child's. It's everything that I love to do. So to translate
13:58that from child to adult, I think it's going to be pretty simple.
14:03All right, everyone. Let's head off to mood. Let's go.
14:10All right, everyone. I have your $100 and you have 20 minutes to shop. It'll be plenty of time.
14:16Your 20 minutes begins now.
14:21What the hell happened to that?
14:25When I think of the word companion piece, I think it needs to be in the same show.
14:30It needs to be in the same season, the same color story. It needs to have that same sensibility.
14:35Ten minutes, everybody.
14:37They don't have anything that's a gray and red mixture in a print.
14:40This is kind of interesting.
14:41But I do find a black and white paisley design.
14:44I feel like it has sort of that French flair a little bit still.
14:47I'm just going with my gut.
14:49Designers, that's it.
14:50He's ringing me up.
14:51Everybody has to get in line now.
14:55Thank you, mood.
15:01This is a hard challenge because I felt like I put so much into this first outfit.
15:04And then you've got to, like, make another look that's just as strong.
15:08I know.
15:08You want even more genius?
15:10God.
15:12Ooh.
15:12Whoa.
15:14Yeah, a little close, but we will see.
15:17I just really like the idea of going from a skirt to a pant.
15:20I have all these colors that I'm trying to work with and arrange and create a kind of graphic
15:25element, but I have no clue at all how it's going to come all together.
15:30My feet hurt.
15:41I feel like I work in the chicken shack or something today.
15:46Y'all, my mom has a bad cough.
15:49So everybody in church is like, who was that hacking out they lungs during service?
15:54When Anthony opens his mouth, he'll weave a story.
15:58In your mind, you can tell she's like, damn.
16:03Please, you made me forget my measurement there.
16:05I'm sorry, sister.
16:06I won't talk no more.
16:07Yeah, right.
16:08Are y'all, like, trying to bit me how long I can go without talking?
16:11I'm putting down for 22 minutes.
16:14Seven minutes at the most.
16:15I said five.
16:16Let's go now.
16:18Wait a minute.
16:18Wait.
16:18You can't even do it.
16:20We challenged him to see how far he could go without having to say anything.
16:33Let me give you some lips.
16:39Let's see if you can use my tongue.
16:44Okay.
16:50I don't want to hear any more about me being quiet.
17:00Oh my gosh, you can get a lot down when you shut the hell up.
17:02I'm still not going to talk to y'all.
17:06No one panic.
17:07No twists.
17:08Just me.
17:09Jonathan, I love what you've done here.
17:12The cotton organza was a last night decision.
17:16I thought the dress was very plain and it was very yellow.
17:19I'm okay.
17:19I'm with you.
17:20So what's going on with the look for your model?
17:22Okay.
17:22So this is just the base right now and I bought more of the white cotton organza and this
17:27is actually going to be over the entire dress.
17:29Well, it's going to be an attention grabber.
17:31Absolutely.
17:32All right.
17:33Thank you, Jonathan.
17:33Thank you, Tim.
17:35For the older version, I'm using that fabric twice.
17:38I really love it.
17:39You are really rocking Halloween here with the black and this corally orange.
17:44I see these colors as being pink and black and white.
17:47I would never design something inspired by Halloween because I hate Halloween.
17:51Just be prepared for a response to that.
17:55So, Amy.
17:55Hi, Tim.
17:56You have a little factory here.
17:58What are you doing?
17:58Yeah.
17:58So, to go back to my little girl's look, taking that same type of petal shape, mixing up the
18:05colors and actually laying it onto another fabric and making it into a loose fitting pant.
18:11These pants will either stop the show or it's going to be clown clothes.
18:15I completely understand that I'm running that risk right now.
18:18And I'm thrilled that you are.
18:20You know, it's a lot better than playing it safe.
18:22We'll see.
18:23I'm not going to waste any more of your time.
18:25Do it.
18:25Okay.
18:27This is my completed child's look, including small handbag.
18:31My daughter, she collects handbags at this age.
18:33She had like 200 of them.
18:35What?
18:35Yeah.
18:36Let's look at your other look.
18:37Okay.
18:38What I have done is stitched on to create a hound's, you know, it's not houndstooth.
18:44No, but it's.
18:45But it gives it that effect.
18:46I'm really excited about what you all are doing.
18:49Thank you, Seth Aaron.
18:50All right, designers.
18:51Your models are going to be coming in shortly, both of them.
18:54And I want you to know I am profoundly wowed.
18:59Wowed.
19:00Thank you, everybody.
19:01Make it work.
19:02Thanks, Tim.
19:02Work with mine.
19:05Beautiful.
19:06Oh, I hug.
19:07I'm out of the leg.
19:08I love you.
19:09Tough fits you, too.
19:10Like, I don't need to do a lot.
19:12Wow.
19:13You like that?
19:14Sylvia says she likes it.
19:16I just like to get a smile out of her.
19:18I think you will win.
19:19Well, no matter what happens, it's going to be a lot of fun.
19:22Wait a minute.
19:25Where y'all mama?
19:26What?
19:27Oh, that's perfect.
19:29Fabriana feels a little like this about her dress.
19:33Meh.
19:34Work it, girl.
19:35See ya.
19:36See you tomorrow.
19:37That one little child made me so nervous that I now stay.
19:42Oh, it's creeping up, huh?
19:44Midnight.
19:45Fabriana is slowing down.
19:48I'm still cutting out petals right now.
19:50I just really wish I had at least one leg done so I could kind of see what this whole thing
19:55is going to look like.
19:56I think it's definitely going to be a close one this time.
19:58You're running out of fabric?
19:59Yeah.
19:59Just because Holly is so tall and I'm making this so long.
20:04I am very concerned over this challenge.
20:08I'm not showing it, though.
20:09I never let them see me sweat.
20:11But I'm feeling like I'm going to at least be safe for the runway.
20:17I've been on the bottom before and I've had a scathing review and I just want to get through
20:25this one.
20:26We have until 1030, right?
20:38Yeah.
20:39Okay, so I'll get as much as I can done, done, done, done, done, done.
20:44The models are coming in and then the kids are coming in, so I know that I'm not going
20:48to have the entire time to be working on stuff, so I'm kind of nervous about that.
20:53I'm taking a risk right now.
20:59I'm going to either be in the top three or the bottom three.
21:01I'm not running anywhere in the middle because it's going to be a standout piece.
21:06You know, Amy's pants are really designed and I just don't know how those are going to
21:10look once they're out there.
21:12That's why I'm here.
21:13I want to stand out.
21:19Good morning, Tim.
21:20Good morning, designers.
21:21I'm about to send in your models.
21:24You will have an hour each to send them to the Garnier Hair Salon and the L'Oreal Paris
21:28Makeup Room.
21:29Use the bluefly.com wall.
21:31Very thoughtfully, very strategically.
21:33It's the source for your accessories.
21:35Thank you, everybody.
21:36I'm going to send in your models.
21:38The workroom is a little bit like Romper Room on crack.
21:52There's little girls cutting some random scraps of fabric.
21:55They're making accessories for each other.
21:56The designers are having heart palpitations.
21:59It's all over the place.
22:03Oh, they back.
22:04My dog's 77.
22:06How they up?
22:07I am just completely not custom to dealing with so many little children.
22:12My older sister is my dog.
22:15Your older sister's your dog?
22:17I'm absolutely amazed by their conversations.
22:20I just started first grade.
22:22My dog, don't do that in your dog.
22:25Do y'all have an off switch?
22:26What's an off switch?
22:28Exactly.
22:30Well, all right, girls.
22:31I'll see y'all later.
22:32Yeah, we're coming back.
22:34For re-take?
22:35Okay.
22:35All right, well.
22:40Very together, Bob.
22:43Oh, I do.
22:43We'll pay it this time, but it's perfect.
22:46Her dress is covered in cotton organza petal.
22:55Are you done yet?
22:57I'm going to have to go back in the storing room, okay?
22:59That's okay.
23:00I think Janine might have some trouble because her look is just simple.
23:02It just isn't as designed, I think, as everybody else's.
23:06I like it.
23:07I like the pant.
23:07I love the tank.
23:08And I like the jacket shape.
23:10I hope it's enough for the judges.
23:13This has been my strategy all along, to be safe to about the halfway point, and then
23:18to really start pulling out the big tricks for the judges.
23:21Do you think my mom's going to like it?
23:23I think she might.
23:27Allison, ready for the circus?
23:29Woo-hoo!
23:32Designers, models, and young lady models.
23:36In 10 minutes, we're going down to the runway, and we want a nice, smooth exit.
23:42I'll be back in 10 minutes.
23:48I'm not 100% confident.
23:50I'm more 75%, and for me, that's rare.
23:52But I think there's worse because there's over-design.
23:56Jonathan's mother dress just went to a whole other place.
24:00All right.
24:05Let's go down to the runway, everybody.
24:07This could either be a ridiculous runway show because we're all going to march out some weird-ass
24:13costume, or this could all be genius.
24:15Is that it?
24:16All right, everybody.
24:17Welcome to the runway.
24:26As you know, in fashion, one day you're in, and the next day, you're out.
24:31There are 11 of you here, and after tonight, there will be 10.
24:34Now, more than ever, children are becoming little fashionistas.
24:40So with that in mind, the first part of your challenge was to design an age-appropriate
24:45and fashionable children's look.
24:47Then we gave you a little twist.
24:48We asked you to create a companion look for an adult.
24:52All right, let's meet the judges.
24:53First, we have top American designer, Michael Kors.
24:57Hey, guys.
24:58Hi, Michael.
25:00Fashion director of Marie Claire magazine, Nina Garcia.
25:03Hello.
25:04American designer whose lifestyle brand is very popular among women of all ages, including
25:11little girls.
25:12Tory Burch.
25:13Yay.
25:14Welcome.
25:15Hi.
25:15How are you?
25:17We will score your designs as they come down the runway.
25:20One of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
25:25Let's start the show.
25:31Two looks that I created are very cohesive through style lines, coloring, the ruffle detail,
25:37all of those things.
25:39It looks really beautiful on the runway.
25:47When they came out, it was so graphic and fun.
25:49I don't know how it's going to be received, but I know that it's creative, it's different,
25:55and it's inspiring.
26:03I'm extremely pleased with the two looks and think that I kept my inspiration and my design
26:09intact, and I'm very proud of that.
26:11I'm ecstatic.
26:16It's exactly what I was going for.
26:18Now whether they're going to see my interpretation as I see it, that's yet to be decided.
26:24I mean, I wouldn't change a damn thing.
26:25Everything looks really good up there on the runway.
26:33Everything is moving really well.
26:35When you get it onto the runway, you're not always sure how well it's going to move.
26:38It looks like a comfortable and cute little girl's outfit.
26:41I think Alexis looks great.
26:42The dress really fits her perfectly, so I'm super excited about that.
26:45Seeing Brandeis' dress on the runway is like such a wow moment for me.
26:55The petals are moving the way they were supposed to.
26:58The color looks gorgeous on her, and it's just really stunning.
27:05I'm so excited about my two outfits.
27:07It's my first time doing children's wear, and I think she looks absolutely great.
27:10I'm so happy with my jacket.
27:13It was such a risk with such a bright color, but I think I really turned it out.
27:21When I see Hailey and Carrie together completely dressed, I think they look so adorable.
27:26They just look so cute, and I'm very pleased with the way the two outfits look together.
27:40Lauren, she was so adorable on that runway, and she looked like a little princess,
27:45and Hailey looked like a very, very well-kept, expensive mother.
27:56I'm happy.
27:57I mean, I know that it's a really simple look, and I think they look great together.
28:02You know, they look like they belong together.
28:03I'm feeling very happy.
28:12I've created two amazing outfits.
28:14They're sewn perfectly, and I need to win this.
28:17I'm going to win this.
28:18I better win this.
28:25If I call your name, please step forward.
28:28Jay.
28:29Amy.
28:32Jonathan.
28:33Seth Aaron.
28:35Jesse.
28:37Janine.
28:39If I have not called your name, congratulations.
28:43Your scores have qualified you to move on to the next challenge.
28:46You can leave the runway.
28:51Jonathan.
28:53Amy.
28:54And Janine.
28:56The three of you have the lowest scores.
28:58We're going to talk to the ones with the highest scores first, and then I'm going to call you back.
29:05You can leave the runway.
29:14Let's bring out your models.
29:15Jesse, tell us about your two looks.
29:24Well, first, the big red coat kind of popped into my head, and then I wanted to match it with just something a little bit more interesting.
29:30So I did the A-line section kind of skewed.
29:33And then, with the next day challenge, I decided just to kind of do the very streamlined and tailored look.
29:39I think you did a good job.
29:40I would have preferred the dress to be straight.
29:44Well, with the detail in the back, it's actually skewed.
29:46I think that informs the whole thing a little bit more.
29:48I think it's a job well done.
29:52I love the color combos.
29:54And also, you attempted to do some real tailoring with that coat.
29:57I like that you chose gray because I like unusual colors on little girls.
30:02Reva, how do you like your outfit?
30:05A lot.
30:06I think it looks adorable.
30:08I think the hair accessories is adorable.
30:11And I think the model mom looks pretty good.
30:15Seth Aaron, tell us about your two looks.
30:17It's all about comfort, so all my fabrics are really soft.
30:21That was important.
30:22Coarse pink and white, a must, denim.
30:24And I just added my wave flare to it, which is zippers, hardware, and then we've got to put the stars with the labels.
30:32And so pulling off that inspiration, I was able to step into my mod, new wave feel, hardware, skinnies, and zipper details.
30:43First, I want to know from Sydney, how do you like your outfit?
30:45I like it.
30:47What do you like about it?
30:48What about the purse?
30:50You have an adult's look and a child's look that are both really super and strong.
30:57And I have to say, this jacket is the best tailored garment we have seen this season.
31:03Wow.
31:04This outfit on a little girl seems to me like something that a little girl would dream of wearing.
31:10And it's not something that I've seen before.
31:12You thought about the purse.
31:14You thought about integrating your style into this.
31:18So, bravo.
31:20It's really good.
31:21Jay, tell us about your two looks.
31:23Savannah is my model.
31:24She's eight.
31:25So, I did this drop waist dress with the ruffling around the hip.
31:28And then I paired it back to a pair of denim with the gold lurek.
31:32And then with my model, I mimicked the ruffling detail.
31:36I wanted to make her more adult and more sophisticated.
31:40So, I've decided to go with the blacks.
31:42A lot of design and a lot of thought has gone into it.
31:45It's not just like a simple little dress.
31:47I think that Monique and Savannah, they look really chic.
31:52When I first saw it, I said, wow, you know, that's a couple, mother, daughter, that I would notice walking down the street.
31:58Together, they look like a really striking pair.
32:01And it's that feeling of modern, urban, New York, and cool.
32:06Savannah, do you like your look?
32:08Mm-hmm.
32:08I really do.
32:10You also did a fantastic job on the runway today.
32:13Good job.
32:13Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
32:15Now we're going to talk to the ones with the lowest scores.
32:18And then we'll bring you back out.
32:19You can leave the runway.
32:29Janine, tell us about your two looks.
32:31When I started thinking about children's wear, I thought about being comfortable, being active.
32:37I just wanted something that she could run around in all day and it would be like her favorite dress.
32:42I'm not sure if I like the fact that it was so plain.
32:47I think I would have liked to see more whimsy.
32:51But it's too simple.
32:53It's a design competition.
32:54The whole combination is awful.
32:56It looks like a cheap mall outfit.
32:57And that has nothing to do with you.
32:59You did a fantastic job on the runway today.
33:02I like leggings on a little girl.
33:05But I think a different top would have been better.
33:08Something that was a little more unusual, a little different.
33:10The jacket just looks really like a home ec project.
33:14There's nothing polished about that jacket.
33:17Jonathan, tell us about your looks.
33:19Well, I started with the fabulous Fabriana.
33:22I wanted to give her an outfit that was a little girl's dress, but with an edge.
33:27When we worked backwards into the adult look, I chose to create a textile with cotton organza,
33:32using the same sleeve treatment, and actually the same silver cotton sateen,
33:36which is the jacket of Fabriana's outfit.
33:39It looks so uncomfortable, that little bolera.
33:41Is that comfortable?
33:44It's kind of like pushing into my skin.
33:47I think you had the opposite problem than Janine.
33:50You went too sophisticated, too conceptual.
33:53I understood that this was a risk.
33:55I definitely wanted to take a risk.
33:57You know, I get what you were going for here, but she literally looks like she got caught
34:03in a tornado of toilet paper.
34:04And think about the body.
34:06My God, if she looks like toilet paper, what is a normal woman going to look like?
34:10Amy, tell us about your look.
34:12For beautiful Caitlin, I did a little petal skirt.
34:15I kind of created the textile myself using tonal oranges.
34:19And for Allison, I used the same color palette, and I used the same shape as the petals.
34:24And I'm actually really excited about it.
34:27I have a feeling, Amy, that it wasn't intentional.
34:31Caitlin looks like the house was on fire, and she grabbed every garment in the house.
34:36And she just ran out of the house.
34:38And then Mom!
34:40I mean, those pants are just a train wreck.
34:44The entire effect is very confusing, circus-like.
34:49It's weird.
34:52I think it's hideous.
34:53It's just bizarre.
34:56I actually like it a little bit.
34:57What's your favorite piece?
34:59It would be the sweater.
35:00But would you wear it together?
35:01With Amy, I would trust her fashion sense.
35:04Okay.
35:05I think my biggest problem with it is the color palette.
35:08And it's really throwing me, because I don't really feel those colors work together.
35:13I don't find it necessarily that unappealing, but I do think it's a different color combination, definitely.
35:21Okay, we've heard what you had to say.
35:23We're going to have a little chat, and then we call you back out.
35:26You can leave the runway.
35:28Okay, let's talk about the designers with the highest scores.
35:37Let's start with Jesse.
35:38Yes, it was a very traditional outfit, and he managed to give it a little bit of a sense of humor.
35:45He made a hair accessory.
35:47I thought that was nice, too.
35:48And, yeah, we're forgetting.
35:50We're forgetting.
35:51He made a tailored wool coat.
35:54The mom was so sexy, and then you have this traditional, beautiful little girl.
35:58I don't think I've ever noticed the model Alexis as much as today.
36:02I agree.
36:02The dress was really pretty rocking.
36:07Let's move on to Seth Aaron.
36:09It was a much more sophisticated take, more hard edge, but then when we got to the child's look, it had whimsy.
36:16I think kids love to have a little fun with their clothes.
36:19A little girl would love to wear that outfit.
36:22Yes.
36:22A child would be like, Mommy, buy that for me.
36:25Yeah.
36:28Let's move on to Jay.
36:30Even though it was that sophisticated, it still was youthful.
36:33It still had charm.
36:34The knit pants I love.
36:35I think they're really chic.
36:37Yeah.
36:37You had pieces that were great on their own.
36:39The styling was key here.
36:45Okay, let's move on to the designers with the lowest scores.
36:48Let's start with Amy.
36:50Oh.
36:50If we would have had to guess today who everyone's outfit is, I would have never thought that this is from Amy.
36:57Different is nice, but it sure isn't pretty.
36:59This was just different for difference' sake.
37:01I'm not sure that blue and orange are that complimentary.
37:04Do you think so?
37:05No.
37:05No.
37:07Let's move on to Janine.
37:12To me, it just looked like stuff you bought on Markdown.
37:14Yeah, the jacket is really the worst for me.
37:17This children's outfit was $50.
37:19I think you could buy that for $10.
37:26Jonathan, on the other hand, was very ambitious, and he wanted to do a lot of things in two days.
37:30The conceptual toilet paper twins.
37:32And you're going to put her in a little bolero.
37:35Where are we going?
37:36Let's forget the bolero.
37:37I don't really love the dress.
37:40He did not know how to balance it.
37:45Okay, so we've made our decision.
37:49Okay, let's bring them back out.
37:51The six of you represent the best and the worst.
37:59One of you will be named the winner, and one of you will be out.
38:05The six of you have the highest and the lowest scores.
38:14One of you will be named the winner.
38:15And one of you will be out.
38:19Jesse, you're in.
38:22You can leave the runway.
38:27Seth Aaron, both of your looks were fantastic.
38:31Your adult model looked chic and polished, and your little girl looked fresh, age-appropriate.
38:37And her outfit also had a sense of humor.
38:41Congratulations.
38:43You are the winner of this challenge.
38:45You can leave the runway.
38:50My daughter's going to be so happy.
38:52Thank you so much.
38:56I was really happy that, if anything, that they got it.
39:01I wanted to win badly, and I think it showed.
39:07Jay, you're in.
39:09Well done.
39:10You can leave the runway.
39:15Jonathan, you're in.
39:21You can leave the runway.
39:22Thank you so much.
39:23Amy, your color palette for both looks was bizarre and mismatched.
39:34Your child's outfit looked like she got dressed in the dark, and your adult look was clownish.
39:39I think that you missed the big picture, and ended up with a mess.
39:42Janine, your looks bored us.
39:47For the adult look, the jacket and pants were terribly tailored.
39:52The girl's outfit basically had no design to it.
39:56The final result was blah.
40:02Amy, you're in.
40:08You can leave the runway.
40:09I'm sorry, Janine.
40:10I'm sorry, Janine.
40:14That means you're out.
40:15I'm sorry, Janine.
40:19That means you're out.
40:20You're doing great.
40:22Auf Wiedersehen.
40:24Thank you so much.
40:25The judges absolutely hated it.
40:34I hated it.
40:36Sucked while it was happening.
40:38But that's gonna make me better.
40:41Janine, I have to send you the workroom to clean up your space.
40:44I'm not stopping because Daddy Gloom said she wouldn't wear any of my pieces.
40:50I'm gonna be international in the next two years.
40:52Not huge, but I'll be around.
