00:00Yeah, Mike McDaniel speaking to the media, his Monday day after game press conference will start right here.
00:08Here was Mike McDaniel's comments regarding a lot that went wrong yesterday in the Dolphins.
00:14Disastrous start to the season.
00:17The positive is that that was a miserable experience.
00:22It was embarrassing, flat out.
00:25And in that, there's nowhere to hide.
00:28It's almost, you know, within the game, you know, it's almost good that there's that that it wasn't reachable, that there were we were minus four because there's, you know, as as a team, we have to, you know, I was really looking forward to see to seeing the stuff that we've really worked on diligently and I didn't see any of it.
00:57He doesn't have any answers.
00:58And that's the reality.
01:00There's certain guys, you know, we talk about being in the foxhole with someone.
01:03There's certain guys, stuff goes wrong and you go, that guy will fix it.
01:08That guy will get us out of it.
01:11He doesn't have any answers.
01:12And by the way, a lot of the time for the past three years, I've thought that what we get from him in the media sessions has to be somewhat different than what the team gets in meeting rooms and and speeches and coaching wise.
01:27And it's not that's what they're getting.
01:31And if I'm frustrated by that, I mean, that what he just said there, which really to me made no sense, what he said there looks like the guy who would coach a team to look like what the Dolphins looked like yesterday.
01:46Oh, it first thing popped in my mind.
01:49I've told you all the story was Cam Cameron.
01:51And that goofy, the goofiness of the of the game, Washington, they're the commanders now.
01:57Their name was different back then.
01:59When we go to overtime, they kick us the ball.
02:03We go three and out.
02:04They get the ball, drive the ball right down our throat to kick a field goal to win the game.
02:08And this goofy bastard walked into the locker room and said, from the outside looking in, that was a great football game.
02:15Like, what are you talking about?
02:17You're on the inside.
02:18But why?
02:21But that was the 07 season.
02:23I was the one in 15.
02:24See, to your point, Hulk, that was the one in 15 season where that reminds me a lot of this.
02:29It's great to just feel the misery.
02:32Why didn't we prepare for non misery?
02:35It's puzzling right now because he's had success.
02:40We've had success.
02:41I love Mike McDaniel.
02:42I know.
02:42I love Mike McDaniel.
02:44And I love Tua.
02:45I want them both to succeed.
02:46I want to be able to be proud of the team that I root for.
02:50And Mike McDaniel, his responses yesterday after the game, his demeanor during the game, and I don't want to be demeanor guy, but his demeanor during the game was apathetic.
03:03And then that, that just doesn't instill any confidence in me other than, hey, hoping it works out better next week.
03:15Like, I, it does nothing for me.
03:19So I, I, I don't know.
03:22I'm, I'm, I'm, I'm sad because I put a lot of emotional energy behind believing in Mike McDaniel into an increase career this off season when I was swimming upstream on that one.
03:35And man, they made me look like a fool.
03:38I mean, this is year four of Mike McDaniel.
03:41And if they lost yesterday because of things that we hadn't seen before, then like, all right, like these are new issues, but it's a lot of the same stuff that we've been seeing from a team led by Mike McDaniel for the last three plus seasons.
03:53I didn't even mention the, the Tyree kill catch that he 100% got both feet in that Mike McDaniel just didn't challenge, didn't challenge, and he's got a, a track record of being one of the worst at challenges.
04:07Oh, he kept his track record going yesterday by not challenging something that would have gotten overturned.
04:13They, I saw somebody say this and it really put it into perspective for me yesterday's offense with Tua looked like how the offense last year looked like with Tim Boyle.
04:25They played a game at Indianapolis last year and had a better chance of winning led by Tim Boyle.
04:32They were driving at the end with Tim Boyle in a one score game last year, yesterday with Tua Tonga-Vailoa.
04:38And like, that's the thing that's, that's hardest to grapple with for me.
04:42I think I was, I'm, I'm an optimist, sue me.
04:46I've seen Tua play at a really high level in this league.
04:49We all have that guy yesterday.
04:53That is a completely different person.
04:57I don't know the reasons.
04:58Maybe it is all the injuries catching up to him, but like that, that was not a competent NFL quarterback by any stretch of the imagination.
05:07And he has, again, just go back and look at some of the highlights from 2023.
05:13I know he wasn't perfect that whole season, but if you go watch that and compare it to what you saw yesterday, just Tua, not even the ski and not even the, the skill guys around him, just Tua.
05:24It's a different player.
05:25It just is.
05:26I would say, it's funny you say that.
05:29Cause I was going to bring it up.
05:31The, who, uh, the Bradley Chubb thing about, oh, we're just making plays up on the sideline with Tua's performance with Mike McDaniels post game press conference.
05:43There's an aloof to this team that, and you can address that.
05:49Like you can buckle down, go back to last year with Bradley Chubb.
05:53When he said, we act like we want to be tough, but we're not doing anything to be tough.
05:58We're just talking tough.
06:00It's an aloofness that Mike McDaniel has.
06:03Like if I'm, we just got beat by 25 fellas.
06:08I am walking it with, with a Dom capers, with a Mike Nolan, with a Nick Saban, with the guys defensively.
06:15I'm walking into the, to the meeting room with my head down, worried.
06:20We're about to get cussed out.
06:23We just gave up 33 points to Daniel Jones and your head coach walks in and says, oh, well, the great thing about that is that, um, it was miserable all day.
06:32So the misery can get ahold of us.
06:35What did you just say to me?
06:37I get paid to stop points.
06:40We gave up 33 points.
06:41You please cuss me out.
06:44I want to get cussed out today.
06:46There's no cussing out going on in that building.
06:48And then if you're Tua Tunga-Vailoa and you have that performance, you're going to be the guy that's holding the other players accountable in the room after that.
06:57Like, there's just not a lot of credibility with him when it comes to that kind of stuff.
07:03And I'm just, I just feel like I'm eating a lot of crow today.
07:07I'm not trying to like, it is one game, but it is the first game.
07:11And against that particular opponent, the way they look, like, I don't know how, like, oh, well, it's only game one.
07:17Like, I don't know how to keep that perspective.
07:19Normally, I'm able to do that.
07:21But with what we saw yesterday, like, how can you just write that off as a one-off, especially when you've been seeing, like I said, a lot of these same issues going back four years under Mike McDaniel, even when they were a good team.
07:32I'm with you.
07:32All that being said, I'm betting the Dolphins minus two, and I'm betting all the two are over.
07:37Hawk, to your point, Nohawk, I would not be surprised if they beat the Patriots at home Sunday.
07:43Where the guys, where they.
07:45That's the way this league works.
07:47That's how this league works.
07:48And they did this pleasant, friendly camp.
07:52Everybody's enjoying each other.
07:54You know, everybody's joking and playing.
07:56And now there's grown men getting embarrassed by 25-point losses, where some of the leaders have to step up and say, let's tighten up.
08:04They beat, if they beat the Patriots, they're not beating the Bills, let's be honest, fellas.
08:07But they could beat the Patriots.
08:09Oh, wow.
08:10That Bills game, I know, I know exactly how that game is going to go.
08:13You ignore the last 16 points.
08:16I mean, Crowder, it's the Bills on Thursday night in prime time.
08:20When has that ever gone badly for the Dolphins?
08:24Forever.
08:25Forever.
08:26The sideline, by the way, is down to one and a half.
08:28So, if you wanted to lay points with the Dolphins, it's dropping.
08:32So, if you got it in at two, shame on you.
08:34It's down to one and a half.
08:37All right.
08:37What else do you have in the headlines, Sawana?
08:39Since we dipped our toes in the Demeanor River, Tyreek Hill did not seem happy on the sideline either.
08:48If we're reading body language, midway through the first quarter, a couple turnovers from Tuatunga-Iloa.
08:54They tried to get Tyreek involved.
08:56Clearly, nothing over the top.
08:58And Tyreek was notably angry on the sidelines.
09:02Well, over the top of his head.
09:05Flying right over the top of his head.
09:08And I saw some of those Alt-22 clips.
09:10And he was running open on some of these players.
09:12And Tuatunga just wasn't getting in the ball.
09:13One of Tuatunga's worst games ever.
09:16It might be the, like, the worst.
09:19Well, you just said it.
09:20He looked like Tim Boyle.
09:21That looked like the Tim Boyle offense we saw.
09:24And that, I mean, like, there's no chance I would have believed you if you said that Tuatunga could ever have a game like that.
09:30Wouldn't you?
09:31Didn't y'all send me something where Tuatunga's QBR was a three?
09:35So, I had a buddy of mine look this up.
09:38So, Tuatunga-Vailoa was the lowest graded quarterback by PFF yesterday.
09:44However, if you take out the filter for number of snaps, there was one quarterback worse, according to Pro Football Focus yesterday.
09:52And it was Zach Wilson.
09:53So, if I extrapolate that out correctly, Mike McDaniel made the right choice in starting Tuatunga over Zach Wilson.
10:04His QBR was a 2.7.
10:10Y'all sent me that.
10:12Jimmy could get a 2.7.
10:15Probably higher.
10:18Listen, I heard about that sprint speed to the bathroom.
10:22You would have been able to get out of that pocket a couple of times.
10:25I've never seen Jimmy's shovel.
