17:37and my resources
17:38to build what lasts forever?
17:40These are the questions
17:41the church that focuses
17:42on eternity
17:43presses upon every heart.
17:45It teaches that success
17:46in this world
17:47means nothing
17:48if it does not lead
17:49to life in the next.
17:51The church that keeps
17:52eternity in focus
17:53does not preach
17:54a shallow gospel.
17:56It does not tell people
17:57what makes them comfortable.
17:58It tells them
17:59what prepares them
18:00for heaven.
18:01It calls them out of sin.
18:02Not because of fear,
18:04but because sin
18:04separates us from the God
18:05we long to spend
18:07eternity with.
18:08It reminds them
18:09that holiness
18:09is not an option.
18:11It is a preparation.
18:13Just as a bride
18:14prepares for her wedding,
18:16so must the church
18:17prepare for eternity
18:18with her Lord.
18:19This preparation
18:20is not about perfection
18:21and human strength,
18:22but about surrender
18:23to the one
18:24who perfects us.
18:26Eternity also brings hope
18:27in times of trial.
18:29Life on earth
18:30can be filled
18:30with suffering,
18:31loss,
18:31and disappointment.

18:49This focus allows believers
18:50to endure hardship
18:51with courage,
18:52knowing that the weight
18:53of suffering
18:54cannot compare
18:55to the joy that awaits.
18:57The church that keeps
18:58eternity at its center
18:59leads people
19:00to live differently.
19:01It calls them
19:02to store treasures
19:03in heaven rather
19:03than on earth,
19:04to invest in souls
19:05rather than in possessions,
19:07and to run the race
19:08of faith with their eyes
19:09fixed on the finish line.
19:11It refuses to let them
19:12settle for temporary satisfaction
19:14when eternal joy
19:16is available.
19:16And when the final moment
19:18of life comes,
19:19when the breath fades
19:20and time gives way
19:21to forever,
19:22those who have been prepared
19:23by this church
19:24will not fear.
19:25They will step with confidence
19:26into the arms
19:27of their Savior,
19:28ready for the eternity
19:30they lived for all along.
