A Japanese lawmaker has said he hopes to discuss lifting all import restrictions on the country's agricultural goods with Taiwan's Legislative Speaker Han Kuo-yu later this month.

00:05produce. I heard legislative speaker Han Goyue is visiting Expo 2025 in Japan at the end of
00:14September. I welcome him wholeheartedly and would like to reiterate our request for Taiwan to open
00:19imports of produce from the five prefectures. Taiwan's legislature is discussing lifting a
00:25ban on all food items from areas affected by the 2011 Fukushima nuclear accident.
00:31Furuya was speaking with a delegation of 27 KMT lawmakers from Taiwan looking to boost bilateral
00:37trade ties. Meanwhile, Japan's state minister of agriculture, forestry and fisheries, Takanami
00:43Hirufumi, is in Taiwan, possibly to discuss the ban.
