Cattle prices held firm at the Leongatha store sale on Thursday with several northern orders helping to keep a floor under prices

00:00Pretty solid market. There was 4,000 cattle drawn for, but we ended up with more like 3,000 cattle here today, 1,000 cattle less than predicted.

00:08But certainly the better lines of cattle sold to firm rates of last week.

00:14You know, you're sort of $4 and north of that for your heavier feeder cattle and your mid-300s of 420, 30 kilo steers.

00:23Well, they sort of advance around from $4 up to $4.80. Calves under 250 kilo range, back up to $5.00.

00:30So, all in all, a pretty solid result. And certainly the better lines of calves and feeder cattle sold to similar rates as last week.
