00:00I personally like coming to the Reject Shop because the art supplies are better.
00:03You can't find most of the stuff at Kmart.
00:05We need a bit more competition.
00:07We need to be able to, especially priced Australians,
00:09to be able to save a little bit more money.
00:12It's just more in-game bulk when it comes to the craft stuff,
00:16especially when it comes to kids and toys.
00:18ACM caught up with the Reject Shop customers for their reaction to news
00:21the iconic Aussie brand is set to vanish from shopping centres
00:24as Canadian giant Dollarama announces a rebrand of all 395 stores by 2027.
00:31So how often do you shop here at the Reject Shop?
00:35Like a couple of times a week, like once or twice, just a blending.
00:39Every day.
00:40Every day? Nice one.
00:41We're seeing if there was any sale or four.
00:43Yeah.
00:44So what kind of things do you usually get when you come in?
00:46Knickknacks, food, usually.
00:49Being on a Centrelake payment,
00:51it's a lot easier to get the cheaper chicks and things like that there.
00:54I'm finding that a lot of the chocolates and stuff like that
00:57were also a lot cheaper, so they've made it a lot easier.
01:00What kind of things do you get here when you do come in?
01:02I buy my dog's biscuits, special biscuits, long bone ones.
01:07I usually buy shampoo, kids' toys.
01:10So I personally like coming to the Reject Shop because the art supplies are better.
01:15You can't find most of the stock at Kmart.
01:16They run out of brewery, go and stop a lot.
01:20And it's just more in-game bulk when it comes to the craft stuff,
01:23especially when it comes to kids and toys.
01:26Do you like the fact that the shop space is actually a lot smaller
01:28compared to going to, say, one of the huge department stores?
01:32Art is.
01:32I do appreciate how easy it is to bind everything in there
01:35compared to some of your shops.
01:37Well, I find Kmart really doesn't have toys.
01:40Well, not good quality.
01:41We've got to go to Tenworth to get anything decent.
01:43So I'd love to see it in the fact the range that they did have.
01:47They had a wider range of toners, makeup removers, things like that.
01:53And that seems to have gone off you.
01:55Do you know as much of a difference in the prices
01:57between here and Kmart at Big W?
01:59A little bit.
02:00A little bit.
02:01Some things are kind of similar, but others are half-sincere.
02:06Majority of the stuff at Kmart's been up to price
02:09to match Woolworths and Colors and stuff up.
02:11Yeah.
02:12So, what else would you say about the cost of living
02:14and having places like this to shop at?
02:18I think it's great.
02:19Yep.
02:20You know, some of the prices in the supermarkets,
02:22oh, that's the other thing.
02:23I buy washing liquid.
02:25Oh, right.
02:25Yep.
02:26Because it's twice the price that it's sitting.
02:28By the sounds of things,
02:29I'll be even cheaper once the name change takes in new.
02:32Fingers crossed.
02:33Yeah.
02:33That's what we need.
02:34We need a bit more competition.
02:36We need to be able to, especially priced Australians,
02:38to be able to save a little bit more money.
02:41And if we can get the same item,
02:44the quarter of the price,
02:45to what you can get somewhere else,
02:46you're going to definitely come back here.
