Members of the Spanish conservative party VOX gathered in Madrid to protest the government's leniency in handling of migrant-related crimes, including the suspected rape of a 14-year-old Spanish girl by a Moroccan youth.

Footage shows various VOX members assembling, holding a placard reading 'Deportations = Security', with police monitoring the event closely near the Hortaleza First Reception Child Protection Centre, a primary reception centre for unaccompanied foreign minors.

“These are the consequences of the migration policies supported by the bipartisan Socialist Party and the Popular Party,” said President of VOX in Castilla-La Mancha, David Moreno, pointing towards incidents where minors at migrant centres reportedly assaulted young girls.

Moreno further criticised the two-party system in Spain, accusing both the Socialist and Popular Parties of implementing the same migration policies across regions.

"Those directly responsible are the politicians of the two-party system represented by the Socialist Party and the Popular Party," he added.

One protester said they were demonstrating, “because of the atrocity committed against a 14-year-old girl, and because the government has done nothing but use us as a political weapon.”

“I don't want these people on my streets or in my country. Either you come here legally and behave yourself, respect the laws, respect the culture and respect the citizens, or you go back to your home," she added.

The 17-year-old suspect has been arrested and, at the request of prosecutors, ordered to remain in a closed juvenile facility while the investigation continues.
