00:07has been remanded for allegedly misusing the association's funds to pay his wife's legal
00:13and court costs amounting to 84,500 ringgit. Magistrate Uthman Abdul Ghani granted the
00:20remand order until September 7th following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption
00:26Commission, MACC, at the magistrate's court in Ayur Kero on Wednesday. According to MACC sources,
00:35the suspect was arrested at 5.10pm on Tuesday when he appeared to give a statement at the Malacca
00:41MACC headquarters in Alai. He allegedly used the funds last year to cover his wife's court case
00:47expenses. Malacca MACC director Datuk Adi Supyan Shafi confirmed the arrest, adding that the case
00:55is being investigated under Section 23 of the MACC Act 2009.
