Seven individuals, including a civil servant and six contractors, have been remanded for five days from Thursday over allegations of submitting false claims totalling RM139,000 last year.

Magistrate N. Sivashangari issued the order at the Ayer Keroh Magistrate’s Court following an application by the Malaysian Anti-Corruption Commission (MACC) in Melaka.

00:25Sources said the suspects, aged 32 to 52, were arrested on Wednesday when they went to
00:32the MACC Malacca office to give statements.
00:35They allegedly submitted supply work documents from six companies to claim 139,100 ringgit
00:42for food and beverage services that were never delivered.
00:47MACC Malacca Director Adi Supyan Shafi confirmed the arrests and remand, saying the case is
00:53being investigated under Section 18 of the MACC Act 2009.
