Mexico: President Sheinbaum rejects U.S. intervention to fight drug trafficking

The Mexican government rejected on Tuesday the possibility of U.S. military intervention to combat drug trafficking. During her daily morning press conference, Mexican President Claudia Sheinbaum reaffirmed that such an intervention was unnecessary and emphasized that the fight against organized crime must be based on binational agreements focused on research and cooperation, without compromising national sovereignty. The president reiterated that her administration will never allow any military intervention by the U.S. government, stating that each country must take responsibility for combating crime within its own territory.
