The president of Mexico, Claudia Sheinbaum, ruled out u.s. military operations in Mexican territory, expressing her disagreement with an invasion under the pretext of fighting drug trafficking.

00:11The head of state said during a press conference that she had talked about the issue over the

00:16phone with the U.S. President-elect Donald Trump and reiterated that she does not agree

00:21with Washington's military presence in Mexican territory under any circumstances.

00:27Sheinbaum also recalled that former President Andrés Manuel López Obrador had imposed

00:32greater controls on U.S. agencies in Mexico and that this position was and will continue

00:38to be in force.

00:45I told him that with respect to our sovereignty, it was very important that we share information,

00:50that intelligence and investigation work be carried out respecting our sovereignty, and

00:55that we could collaborate in a very important way in that and in other issues.

00:59And he agreed, he said that he thought it was very good and that we would talk about

01:03it in due time.

01:05But of course we do not agree with an invasion or a presence of this type.

01:09Even with President López Obrador, there was much more control of the presence of the

01:14U.S. agencies in our country, which will be maintained.
