00:00Earlier, we did speak to Commodore Chit Rappu Udaybaskar, who is the Director of Society for Political Studies in New Delhi.
00:07But, Michael, I want to turn to you first on this story and find out, is it China and Russia carving out their own sphere of influence, do you think, here?
00:15I think it is a little of that, and I also think it's about owning the narrative.
00:20I think what China, Russia, and India would like to do is set the table and let the world know, specifically an audience of one, President Donald Trump, that they have options.
00:33Now, the reality, however, is I do not believe that they do.
00:38They can enhance trade amongst the three of them, as well as the other 17 countries that are participating.
00:44But the reality is that the U.S. GDP is worth $30 trillion.
00:49Number two is China at $19 trillion.
00:52The U.S. is the market that everybody wants access to.
00:57And why I feel so strongly about this is that if you look at what President Xi said in his comments throughout the day,
01:06there was a lot of rhetoric, much like Donald Trump, and a lack of substance, much like Donald Trump.
01:12And I, again, repeat this, I think it was geared for an audience of one, Donald Trump.
