00:00And at the top of this hour, we're getting some breaking news.
00:03A SAM showdown over Jamyat visit.
00:05Jamyat team visiting a SAM's Golpara.
00:08A SAM flashpoint over Himanta Biswasarma's eviction drive.
00:12Chief Minister Himanta Biswasarma says cops will strictly monitor the visit.
00:17So it's a SAM government versus the Jamyat over the mega eviction drive.
00:22My colleague Tapas is now joining us with more details on this.
00:25Tapas, what is the objective of the Jamyat team's visit to a SAM's Golpara?
00:34Well, it's basically a solidarity visit by the Jamyat Ullamai Hind delegation.
00:39And we have been given to understand seven-member delegation is already near SAM.
00:42And Mahmood Madani, who happens to be the head of the Jamyat Ullamai Hind,
00:46has already visited a few camps in lower SAM.
00:49And he's all set to visit Golpara.
00:51And what we learned from Jamyat Ullamai Hind sources
00:53that since there have been several eviction drives taking place
00:56where Bengali Muslims were allegedly evicted from their lands
00:59for different reasons.
01:02Either they were illegally procurated or they illegally settled in that area
01:06or they were illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.
01:09So keeping that in mind, it's a visit that was planned long back.
01:12And we had seen a political face-off between the government of SAM
01:18and also Jamyat Ullamai Hind's statements and counter-statements coming up from both the parts.
01:22But now, the chief minister of SAM have taken it to the social media
01:25and categorically stated that they are keeping a close watch
01:28on this very visit of Jamyat Ullamai Hind delegation to lower SAM,
01:33especially in Golpara area.
01:34We know it's a very, very sensitive area.
01:36And ahead of the Borough Territorial Administration elections,
01:39the situation should not spiral out of control.
01:42That's what the concerns are as far as the Lauderdale situation is concerned.
01:46We had seen several protests happening across SAM
01:49given the ongoing drives and eviction drives going on in and around SAM.
01:54So keeping that in mind and also BTR elections is almost long knocking at the door
01:58and a few months from now, SAM is also going for assembly elections in 2026.
02:04So keeping the situation in mind,
02:07the SAM chief minister have also instructed police to keep a close vigil
02:11and if any law and order situation arises,
02:13then punitive action would be taken against those involved in that.
02:16Back to you.
02:17All right, Tapas, thank you for getting us all those details
02:19on the face-off over the mega eviction drive in the state of Assam.

07:52Thank you very much.
13:02Hey ha.
13:09city in the millennium city of Delhi NCR. And why I'm saying that because we had seen
13:16yesterday when it outpoured heavily in Gurgaon, within few hours you had a situation where
13:21the 100 mm rainfall was recorded as per the IMD in Gurgaon. What we saw was hours long
13:29traffic jam that was being experienced by everybody who was stepping out of their offices
13:36or homes and trying to reach their respective destinations. So there's a bigger fear, will
13:41that situation re-occur today? Hopefully not because the offices in Gurgaon, the corporate
13:49offices to be very specific has been asked by the administration and advisory has been already
13:54issued to asking them to shift to work from home mode for today as well as the schools were advised
14:02to hold online classes. So the effort by the administration today seems to be to reduce
14:08the traffic on the road as to when it rains heavily, the heavy downpour happens because remember
14:13it's also an orange yellow day for Gurgaon. So there could be a possibility of heavy rainfall
14:19or it could be all drizzling if it continues to drizzle. I think there shouldn't be a lot
14:23of problem but the moment this drizzling converts into heavy downpour, that's when the concern
14:29or the alarm bells begin in the city of Gurgaon. There's another question that residents of
14:38Gurgaon continuously asking that they are the ones paying heavy taxes. You have the top
14:44offices, corporate offices based out of this cyber city but how come you have a situation
14:50wherein when it rains heavily, there's no drainage system which is capable of controlling that water
14:59flow number one. Number two, the cars on the road have to struggle and battle with the potholes
15:05which become invisible when the roads are inundated. Number three, what we have also seen
15:10is that while the water from the roads have been taken out, what is happening is that at
15:14many places that particular water is being drained into the pedestrian underpasses and subways.
15:21So there's a bigger question, you know, is this a cosmetic relief that's being provided
15:25to this cyber city and if that is happening, the moment it rains heavily, you will again
15:31have a reoccurrence of the nightmare that we saw yesterday.
15:34Right, Amit, those are some pertinent questions that need to be addressed at the earliest in
15:38Gurugram. As of now, I'm being joined by my colleague Sushant Mehra from the Yamuna Bazar area
15:43in Delhi. Sushant, we have seen your ground reports in which there is a lot of water that is
15:49all right. So here we have a lot of water that is in such a place. It's been a lot of water
16:00from the Yamuna Bazar area. As the area of the Yamuna Bazar area, what is the situation
16:07that is in the village of the Yamuna Bazar area? And what is the situation that is in the

18:12This is the area where Mokhmintri Rekha Gupta
18:17has visited some days before and there is a lot of water
18:23and these pictures are seen every year in Yamuna Bazar area.
18:27Is there a long lasting step for this area?
18:32Thank you very much.

21:31So, it will be so much of a bag that will be able to cross the wall and cross the wall.
21:36So, the bag will be able to take the bag and take the bag.
21:42It will be very safe.
21:44The bag will be placed on the top of the bag.
21:46The tent will be placed on the top of the bag.
21:52So rains across North India have wrecked havoc with incidents of landslides and cloudbursts being reported daily.
22:19Guru Gram was heavily waterlogged, leaving several commuters stranded and vehicles stuck.
22:25The downpour led to complete road submersion, disrupting traffic and public movement in several areas.
22:30The continuous rain for the last 10 hours in Uttar Pradesh's Aligarh is now becoming a problem for the people.
22:37Waterlogging from the city to the medical college campus, the weather department has predicted rain for the next 24 hours.
22:43Delhi is reeling under acute rain, causing widespread disruptions.
22:48Yamuna River has crossed the danger mark in Delhi and low-lying areas are at flood risk.
22:53Uttarakhand has been witnessing torrential rains with landslides leading to closure of key roads.
22:59The Uttarakhand government on Monday postponed the Chardham Yatra and Hemkun Sahih Yatra till September 5th in view of the inclement weather in the state.
23:08Meanwhile, Punjab is reeling under severe floods due to swollen Satluj, Bias and Ravi rivers and seasonal rivulets amid heavy rain in their cashmere areas in Himachal Pradesh and Jammu and Kashmir.
23:21So far, more than 1,300 houses were partially damaged as well as 300 houses were completely collapsed.
23:32There are more than 260 roads which have been blocked due to heavy rains followed by landslides and flash floods as well as six national highways are also blocked.
23:43The Uttarakhand government along with the Uttarakhand Disaster Management Authority have been monitoring the situation.
23:51The SCRF, NDRF and VRO personnel along with their machinery are on standby in any case of the landslide event or flat flood.
24:00The forces will move to the ground zero and will start working.
24:05However, people are praying as well as everyone is expecting that the rainfall should stop because it's been very hard days for the people of Uttarakhand living in the hill areas as well as the tourists who are flocking to Uttarakhand in the rainy season.
24:22The IMD has also cautioned the travellers and people to refrain from going to the landslide-thrown areas and do not travel to the mountainous regions specifically during the rainfall period because it may cause the life-threatening situation.
24:38The weather department is continuously monitoring the situation and the next 24 hours are going to be very crucial for the state.
24:45This is Ankit Sharma for India Today, Deerak.
24:52This is Ankit Sharma for India, Deerak.
25:22Submerging houses, villages and vast stretches of cropland.
25:26Over 14,000 people have been reportedly rescued to safety from flood-hit areas by the NDRF, Army, BSF and district authorities.
25:35Now, drones are being used in Ajnala sector to send water, milk powder and dry ration in flood-hit areas of Ajnala Tahsil.
25:43Punjab Chief Minister Bhagawan Tman visited flood-affected areas and took stock of the situation.
25:48Meanwhile, Prime Minister Narendra Modi too spoke to Chief Minister Maan and assured him all support.
25:54Thank you very much.
25:58Thank you very much.
26:28people who are more than a few people.
26:30These are the people who are from the house,
26:36which are from the house.
26:38This is a school in Firozpur.
26:42This is a school that is built.
26:45Here you can see how it is built.
26:47There are food and food.
26:48There are many people who are living here.
26:52They are living here.
26:53They are living here.
26:55And my colleague Aman Bhardwaj is now joining us from Punjab's Firozpur.
27:06Aman, tell us about the current situation, how is the situation over there
27:10and what are the steps that are being taken by the authorities?
27:17See, now the officials and the senior dignitaries are making rounds.
27:21They are visiting the affected area, meeting up people
27:23and trying to know that what else can be done.
27:26Right now, where I am, it's a relief camp in Firozpur
27:29and Punjab's governor Gulabchan Kataria has visited this place
27:33and for four days too, he'll be visiting Firozpur, Amritsar, Taran Taran
27:39and adjoining districts on the borderline.
27:41And he met people, he listened to the demands that people are making after flood effect
27:48and because people are demanding rehabilitation
27:50and also because the villages are on the borderline
27:53and 1,200 villages are affected
27:56and 1 lakh hectare of land, farming land, is being affected by this flood head.
28:03And also, it's a border district.
28:05So, there are several measures that have been taken for the rescue as well
28:09by the BSF army and the Punjab police as well
28:12and the local administration also.
28:14So, all the preparation has been made.
28:16And you see these packets, these relief things, whether it's milk, medicines and all necessary things are tagged into the packets
28:25and will be distributed in the flood affected area.
28:28And after some time, Punjab's governor will be talking to us, he'll definitely describe how the state is going to assess this,
28:37how the governor's office is going to assess the situation and what helps can be made on the administration level
28:45and what helps can be made for the people here in rural Punjab.
28:50Because half of the Punjab, approximately 12 districts, are majorly affected by these floods.
28:55And the next 48 hours also are concerning as per the IMD guidelines.
29:01So, that 48 hours is very crucial and Punjab's, whether it's singers, actors, NGOs, each one is on tractors,
29:11helping out people, even the neighboring villages, which are not affected.
29:15They are helping the ones which are completely affected in the Ajanala, Amritsar, Tarantaran, rural and cities as well.
29:25So, this is a condition.
29:25And right now, Punjab's governor, Gulabchand Katariya, has met the people and he has assessed because 297 people, Anjali,
29:36are living in this relief camp and several districts of Punjab where the flood has had relief camps are being established.
29:44All right, Aman, thank you for getting us all those details from the ground.
29:48We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on the situation in Punjab.
29:51Heavy rains have devastated Manali and the old bridge, connecting the old and new part being collapsed.
29:58Several vehicles were stranded due to the broken bridge.
30:01Here's a ground report.
30:05We are in the old Manali.
30:06You can see this was a motorable road till 26th August.
30:10Then this entire collapse happened.
30:11But a route was opened and from the same route we went to Bang also to cover the damages.
30:17But now, what rains have done is you can see in the visuals that the Byas River is flowing over this collapsed bridge.
30:25It is river and this entire passage which was made by the administration is now washed out.
30:30And a Tempu traveler and a Tempu traveler which was heading towards the bridge that got stuck in the waters.
30:36It is learned that when this incident happened around 8, 8.30 a.m., the police alerted the Tempu traveler that heavy waters were coming in as the Byas is in full speed.
30:48And the drivers were rescued and other people there were rescued.
30:51And the Tempu traveler is stuck there and you can see how the Byas is gushing, how the Byas is in full speed and the entire area is inundated.
30:59It was a dry passage till yesterday but now since the rain last night and the incessant rain since morning, this entire area is almost washed out.
31:09And you can judge from the speed of the water that what kind of speed this water has attained.
31:14And there is no end to the rain.
31:15There is no end to the rain.
31:17It is raining very, very heavily.
31:18It is told to be the orange or the red alert here which means that it will be a rain till late evening as well.
31:24So, these are the latest visuals from Old Manali where you can see the water gushing over the collapsed bridge and the Tempu traveler stuck in there.
31:35We're getting some breaking news from the state of Maharashtra.
31:38Maratha Kota showdown in Mumbai rages.
31:41Jarangay Patil remains defiant, says won't budge.
31:44Manu Jarangay Patil says and I quote,
31:47We will not leave Mumbai till all our demands are met.
31:50Devendra Farnavas, if you respect us, we will respect you for life.
31:54I will not leave Mumbai, even if I die.
31:57I will not leave Mumbai till demands are met.
32:00Protesters should travel by public transport.
32:03Don't bring vehicles, even if I die.
32:05Don't resort to violence.
32:06Follow path of peace for our demands.
32:09That's what Manu Jarangay Patil has said.
32:12After the cops issued notice to the core committee,
32:15the protesters to vacate the Azad Maidan
32:18where they have been staging protests for the Maratha Kota.
32:23But after the court's directive and the cops' notice
32:28for breaching the rules which were made by them
32:33and they have been asked to vacate the Azad Maidan.
32:36But clearly, Manu Jarangay Patil remains defiant.
32:40He says that he won't budge, he won't leave Mumbai
32:43till all the demands that they are raising are met.
32:46People are being convicted of the court of power which is not a crime.
32:51The police say that it's very improvised.
32:57The police say that the cop is not just a crime.
33:02The police say that the cop is not going to be done.
33:04The police say that they have an arrest.
33:06The police say that the cop has been taken from Bilbo.
33:07And my colleague Mustafa Sheikh is now joining us with more details on this.
33:20Mustafa, clearly Manoj Arange Patil remains defiant.
33:24He has said that he and the protesters will not move from the Azaad Maidan
33:28despite the notice that has been issued by the cops.
33:32Well, that's true that Arange Patil has made it clear that he will continue his past on
33:37and even if he dies, he will not move out from Mumbai or Azaad Maidan
33:41until the time his demands of giving Maratha's OBC reservation is met.
33:45He has asked all his protesters to be peaceful.
33:49He has also asked them to travel by public transport and not bring vehicles which are leading to traffic.
33:55He has also asked the government that if you resort to a police action against the protesters
34:02then there will be equal reaction given to it.
34:05He has said that Marathans want respect and people they want to pursue their demands
34:11and the government should also allow it to happen.
34:14So now all eyes on the court hearing which is going to take place this afternoon.
34:19What happens there, what decision court takes will be important
34:23and further course of action will be decided from there.
34:26But the police seems to be tightening their nose around the Jarange Patil and protesters.
34:31All the roads which were fed or jammed by the protesters have now been cleaned
34:37except for one outside Azaad Maidan where the traffic is normal in Mumbai.
34:42So we'll have to see.
34:43But even after solving one stage of the problem which is the traffic issues in Mumbai
34:49the other would be that there are thousands of protesters inside Azaad Maidan
34:55whether they will be asked to move out from Azaad Maidan
35:00and if they refuse to do it what action will police take is something we'll have to wait and see back to you.
35:04All right Mustafa, thank you for those details.
35:08But also tell us about the rules that were violated by Manoj Jarange Patil and the protesters
35:14after which this notice was issued by the Mumbai cops to them.
35:22Well yes sir, it was listed out in the court hearing yesterday
35:26that first the Bombay High Court had not given permission for Jarange Patil to protest in Mumbai.
35:32He was given a location outside Mumbai, Navei Mumbai, Khargar area.
35:37But by the government of Maharashtra, Mumbai police, he was given permission to protest
35:43for one day on 29th of August inside Azaad Maidan from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
35:50But after coming to Azaad Maidan, protesters have not left.
35:54This is one of the violations.
35:57The other violation is that he was not allowed to bring more than 5,000 people.
36:02But as we saw over the weekends and on Monday which was yesterday
36:06that there were thousands and hundreds of people on the roads of Mumbai.
36:10They were entering hotels.
36:11They were entering premises of commercial use.
36:15They were entering art galleries, blocking roads, harassing people, harassing taxi drivers.
36:21So these things which were all these things and the reports which were taken cognizance of
36:26the Bombay High Court.
36:27The Bombay High Court strictly told Manoj Jarange Patil that if you are not able to control
36:31the people you have brought with you, then what assurance can be taken from you.
36:35Since then Manoj Jarange Patil and his team is trying to bring in discipline in the entire
36:40issue.
36:41They are also saying that whatever is being done by the protest should be done peacefully.
36:45They should not bring in their vehicles.
36:47But now Mumbai police this morning has gone one step ahead and they have given a notice
36:51to Jarange Patil that he is illegally sitting in Azad Maidan.
36:55He doesn't have the Mumbai police's permission.
36:58So that opens a different challenge because there are thousands of protesters who are presently
37:03in Mumbai.
37:04How they will be asked to leave if they refuse to leave?
37:07What will happen is something we have to wait and walk back.
37:09All right.
37:10Mustafa, thank you for getting us all those details right from the ground.
37:13We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on this.
37:16As of now, we're shifting focus.
37:17US President Donald Trump is looking increasingly rattled by the Tianjin Tango, the rare show
37:23of unity between Xi Jinping, Narendra Modi and Vladimir Putin at the SCO.
37:29As the three leaders talked stability, trust and rejecting bullying behavior in the world
37:34order, Trump back home went on a tariff rant once again and justified his sudden 50% duties
37:40on Indian goods.
37:41Meanwhile, White House advisor has once again slammed India and called it shameful to see
37:46the country aligning with authoritarian dictators like Vladimir Putin and Xi Jinping.
37:51He also claimed that India is doing so to secure discounted crude oil from Russia and added
37:57that US will never allow this.
37:59Now, this comes after Trump accused India of one-sided trade ties, of charging the highest
38:03tariffs in the world and of selling massive amounts into the US while blocking American
38:09businesses and of still buying most of its oil and weapons from Russia.
38:13Now, this after Xi Jinping flanked by Putin and Modi hit out at global bullying, urged the
38:21world to reject cold war mentality and also declared that despite turbulence, the SCO has
38:26shown success.
38:27For Donald Trump, the coming together of Russia, India and China is a multi-win challenge.
38:33Russia, India, China can trade among themselves, blunting US tariffs, joint ventures cut dependence
38:38on US supply chains and most importantly, Trump's tariff weapon loses bite as India, Russia,
38:44China built alternate trade and energy routes.
39:08China, India, India, India, Russia, Israel, Pakistan and China have the best government
39:13for international
39:30ुच्छ
40:00Constructively, we will be able to move forward and reach the path to the state of the state of the state. This is a complete belief in the state of the state.
40:13Excellency, I will be very grateful to you again.
40:19It is important that the global south or east is the biggest part of the United States.
40:33It is important that the global south or east is the biggest part of the United States.
40:45My name is Mr. Prime Minister, dear friend.
40:47On December 21st, 15th is the opening of a joint statement,
40:53in which the exit of our relations is a special, privileged strategic partner.
40:59My name is Mr. President.
41:02My name is Mr. President.
41:18And you can confidently say that the many-planned Russian-Indian relations are actively developing on these principles.
41:25It was a shame to see Modi getting in bed as the leader of the biggest democracy in the world,
41:39with the two biggest authoritarian dictators in the world in Putin and Xi Jinping.
41:44That doesn't make any sense.
41:46I'm not sure what he's thinking, particularly since India has been in a Cold War
41:52and sometimes a hot war with China for decades.
41:56Putin gives India a discount on crude.
41:59They refine it, sell at premium prices to Europe, Asia and Africa.
42:06It's nothing but profiteering.
42:08India cannot stand on the thin reed that somehow they need this oil to run their cars or cool their homes.
42:16It's false, just simply false.
42:20Here's the problem with India.
42:22It's a two-pronged problem.
42:23There's 50% tariffs on India.
42:2525% of them is a reciprocal tariff because of unfair trade.
42:3025% is the fact that India is buying oil from Russia.
42:34So start with the reciprocal trade tariffs.
42:38The problem is that India literally is the maharaja of tariffs.
42:43It has the highest tariffs of any major country in the world.
42:47And it's in denial about that.
42:49It tries to tell everybody out there that that's not true when it is demonstrably true.
42:56So they should engage with us.
43:00They haven't done that as Japan, Korea, the Philippines, Indonesia, the European Union has.
43:07They simply think they continue having their way with us.
43:12President Trump's not going to allow that.
43:14And now let us understand why the Tianjin Tango rattles United States and Donald Trump.
43:21Now the first and foremost point is that the trade can be redirected.
43:25Now Russia, India, China can trade among themselves.
43:28And this will blunt the US tariffs that have been imposed.
43:33And it will make the impact of the tariffs minimal.
43:37Now the second point is tariff dilution.
43:39Now Russia, India, China ties undercut Trump's tariff strategy.
43:43And it also provides alternate trade and energy routes for the three nations.
43:48The next point is the tech and minerals.
43:50Now the joint ventures between Russia, India and China reduce the reliance on US led supply chains.
43:58And that can also hurt the economy of United States.
44:02Now sanctions shield is also there.
44:05So if one of Russia, India, China is hit, then the others can compensate for it, which will weaken the US coercion.
44:17And ahead of the festive season, the prices of gold have touched an all time high.
44:21While the rupee has fallen to record lows, the rate of gold per 10 gram has crossed the 1,04,000 mark in several parts of the country.
44:29According to analysts, gold prices may see higher swings later this week.
44:33Here's a detailed report.
44:35Even as Prime Minister Narendra Modi was creating headlines in the Chinese showpiece city of Tianjin, grabbing global attention as he met Chinese President Xi Jinping and Russian President Vladimir Putin on the sidelines of the SCO summit, creating a rare trilateral optics at the time of shifting geopolitics.
44:59Back home, India's economic numbers gave markets plenty to talk about.
45:04A day after GDP numbers shocked economic observers, buying return to the Dallal Street, gold and silver hit a record high and the rupee slipped to a record low.
45:15It started on Friday with GDP numbers putting the country's economic growth at its fastest pace in 15 months.
45:24The services sector led the way from IT to financial services, while agriculture showed resilience that few expected.
45:32Huge government spendings helped.
45:35Economists also point to front-loading of exports ahead of new U.S. tariffs, which added momentum to growth.
45:43Meanwhile, precious metals, gold and silver hit record highs as tariff uncertainties, coupled with festive season demand, pull the buyers in.
45:53The yellow metal is seeing a surge in safe haven demand.
45:56Central banks across the world are also piling up on gold.
46:00In India, a weak rupee contributed to the rise as well.
46:05Gold crossed the 1,04,000 mark per 10 grams for the first time in Delhi's spot market, with October futures close to 1,06,000 mark.
46:15Silver, which has been placed in the critical minerals, list by the U.S., leaped past the 1,20,000 rupees per kilo mark, up nearly 6,000 rupees in a single day.
46:28Particularly when things are not going great, when there are earnings down rates or there is uncertainty around the world, this is one segment which, in my opinion, will hold up relatively better off.
46:38So, while one is not giving a directional view on precious metals, I think in the asset allocation for investors who are listening on to this show, the allocation towards these two asset classes, which are equities and precious metals, should certainly be higher on a structural basis than what it has been in the last five years.
46:58But not all the headlines were positive. The Indian rupee slipped to a record low against the U.S. dollar, tracing slide that began on Friday.
47:09The rupee slipped to an all-time low of 88.33 to the dollar before recovering at the end of the trade.
47:16Analysts say the Reserve Bank of India is letting the Indian currency take its own course, with the fall likely to give relief to exporters facing tariff headwinds.
47:29Bureau Report, Business Today Television.
47:34Shifting focus, rescue operations are currently underway in full swing in Afghanistan.
47:39Over 800 people were killed and more than 2,500 were injured in eastern Afghanistan after a 6.0-magnitude quake hit the region late Sunday.
47:49This was followed by a 4.7-magnitude aftershock at a depth of approximately 140 km closer to the epicentre of the initial quake.
47:58Rescue teams are working to locate people trapped under the debris following the powerful earthquake.
48:04Several homes were reduced to rubble and the death toll is now expected to rise further.
48:08Prime Minister Narayan Modi on Monday expressed sorrow over the lives lost in Afghanistan and also assured all possible assistance and support.
48:17Meanwhile, External Affairs Minister Esra Shankar spoke with his Afghan counterpart and started delivering relief materials for earthquake-affected people.
48:25So far, 1,010 and 15 tons of food material have been sent to Qunar province and more relief materials will be sent today.
