Wodonga Police observe two minute silence to remember Neal Thompson and Vadim De Waart who were fatally shot in Porepunkah on Tuesday, August 26.

00:00I'm here at Wodonga Police Station where this morning officers came together and
00:05hosted a two-minute silence in honour of their colleagues that were tragically
00:09killed at Pawpunkka on the 26th of August. Detective leading Senior
00:14Constable Neil Thompson and Senior Constable Vadim Devart were fatally
00:18shot in the line of duty. Victoria Police officers at Wodonga and
00:23Wangaratta stations observed two-minute silence at 10.37 a.m. marking the time the
00:29tragedy unfolded the week before. Detective Thompson had worked from
00:33Wangaratta and was just days off retirement while Senior Constable Devart
00:38had been stationed in Wangaratta temporarily. Officers remembered their
00:43fallen colleagues as not just police officers but as fathers, sons, brothers
00:48and friends. The two minutes of silence come as the manhunt for suspected shooter
00:54Desi Freeman reaches day eight and police believe he's being helped while on the
00:58run.
