India has enforced a new anti-intruders law to curb illegal foreign residents. Notified by the Home Ministry on September 1, the rule grants the Bureau of Immigration expanded powers to deport foreign nationals living without legal authorization. 02:01Jitendra is now joining us with more details on the anti-intruders law that has come into effect.
02:07Jitendra, over to you. Give us more details.
02:09Jitendra, over to you.
02:15Jitendra, over to you, Jиту Maho.
02:22Jitendra, over to you.
02:25Jitendra, over to you.
02:33Thank you very much.
03:03Thank you very much.
04:07So that's the breaking news that's coming in following the court's directive.
04:11The Mumbai police have now issued a notice to Manohar Jarange Patil for violating the rules.
04:16And since the conditions that were set by the court and the police for holding the protest were violated by Manohar Jarange Patil, the permissions sought by him for the agitation have now been denied.
04:28The Azad Maidan police have served the notice to Jarange Patil's core committee instructing them to vacate Azad Maidan premises at the earliest.
04:38And we're getting some breaking news from the state of Maharashtra.
04:43There was a crackdown on Maratha Kota stir.
04:46Mumbai cops noticed two Kota agitators heat on Manohar Jarange Patil for law breach.
04:53Mumbai cops revoke Nod for Maratha Kota stir.
04:57The charges that the guidelines by the court and the cops were violated and the Mumbai cops have said that and have in fact asked Manohar Jarange Patil to vacate Azad Maidan at the earliest.
05:10So, that's the latest that's coming in as far as the Maratha Kota stir in Mumbai is concerned.
05:16The Mumbai cops have served notice to the Kota agitators and there's heat on Manohar Jarange Patil for law breach.
05:24Now, the Mumbai cops have revoked the Nod for Maratha Kota stir.
05:29My colleague Mustafa is now joining us with more details on this.
05:32Mustafa, tell us more about which were the rules that were violated by Manohar Jarange Patil while protesting for Maratha Kota.
05:47Well, yes, I list all the reasons to you.
05:49But we are at CSTM where this Maratha protest is going out.
05:53And we will see that after the high court order, the roads are now being evacuated by the protesters.
06:00So, we are showing you the reserve force standing on both sides, the police standing on both sides of the roads so that the traffic movement for three to four days which was not happening outside CSTM is seen happening.
06:13So, this is the reserve force and police making sure that people don't cross the roads and the traffic in Mumbai can start because it's a working day.
06:22And you will see as we are panning out that the CSTM station from where the Mumbai cars were getting out for their jobs.
06:31They are going towards their offices.
06:32You can see these visuals right outside the CSTM and where this thing is happening right across.
06:39Now, you can say that Mahapalika Mark is where the protesters have parked their trucks.
06:43This road movement, you will see that there is no movement happening on this Mahapalika Mark.
06:49This is the road now which leads just this, the blue shed you can see is the Azad Meidan where currently Manoj Zarange Patil is sitting for the protest.
06:58The High Court said that specifically the permission which was given was for no more than 5,000 people.
07:06It was given by Mumbai police for one day from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m.
07:10But since Friday, for the last four days, this protest has been going on.
07:15There were many hundreds of people, thousands of people who were spread out across Mumbai, Girgaon, Chopati, Marine Drive, Juhu, going to hotels, going to art galleries.
07:27And there were disruptions in the normal movement of Mumbai.
07:30So that has to stop.
07:32So the compliance is at this afternoon.
07:35The police has to submit a report that all these trucks which are blocking roads in Mumbai, affecting the normal lives in Mumbai, have to go.
07:43Now it was said by the court that not more than 5,000 protesters in the Azad Meidan.
07:48But what we are hearing is that Mumbai police has given notice to Zarange Patil.
07:52His permission for protest has been denied.
07:55He has been asked to move out.
07:57So clearly there is, you can say that one movement on the roads.
08:02But the Mumbai police is now moving towards vacating the entire city for this protest.
08:08We'll have to wait and see how it unfolds.
08:10But the current situation outside CIC station near Azad Meidan, we have showed you on one side, the police has been able to start the roads.
08:16On the other side, the trucks are still parked and they are waiting to be evacuated back to us.
08:21Right.
08:22Mustafa, also after the cops serve notice to the core committee of Manoj Arange Patil, how has the committee or Manoj Arange Patil reacted to it?
08:31Well, now it's clear that they don't have much legal recourse and they'll have to abide by the court orders.
08:42They are still discussing the issue.
08:43As of now, they have not made any announcements.
08:46But for the last few days, Manoj Arange Patil has been very stern on his demand that he will not move till the time the Marathas from the Marathana region of Maharashtra are given the reservation under the OBC.
09:00So that is something which the government is saying is not possible.
09:03And as of now, there has been no middle ground or path within the protesters and the government, no minister from the Fadav's government has come here to speak with the protesters.
09:16So clearly, the reasoning and the discussions are not happening.
09:19The court has taken a strict view.
09:21The police has said that it has to be evacuated.
09:23So rightly, there are some disruptions expected later in the day if you go by what's happening as of now.
09:29So the Maratha leaders have not come out with an official statement, but they have also not said that they will be evacuating or leaving Mumbai.
09:36So these many people you can see on the roads of Mumbai, what happens next is something we'll have to wait and watch for back to you.
09:44All right, Mustafa, thank you for getting us all those details right from the ground.
09:47We'll keep coming back to you for more updates on this.
09:50And we're now getting some more breaking news scenes of destruction in old Manali in Himachal Pradesh, broken bridges, vehicles stranded in Manali.
10:06The picturesque Manali now devastated in floods.
10:10These are the visuals from Himachal Pradesh Manali, where there's the floods have devastated the entire region.
10:18India today is the only channel at the destruction site.
10:22So scenes of destructions and the visuals in old Manali in Himachal Pradesh.
10:26You can see vehicles stranded, the broken bridge.
10:31And clearly the picturesque Manali that we all know about is devastated in these floods, as is evident in these visuals on your screens right now.
10:42So incessant rainfall, floods, landslides have ravaged Manali.
10:52Scenes of destruction and devastation in old Manali.
10:56These are the visuals from old Manali in which you can see a broken bridge, vehicles stranded.
11:02And India today is also the only channel at the destruction site.
11:06So these scenes of destructions being reported from Manali in Himachal Pradesh.
11:12Remember, the entire North India, there's incessant rainfall.
11:16Rainfall has slashed the entire North India.
11:19There are Punjab has been severely impacted.
11:22Himachal Pradesh, Uttarakhand, there have been landslides, floods, cloudbursts.
11:26And these particular visuals are coming from Manali, where the bridges have broken, the vehicles are stranded.
11:35And my colleague Aseem Massey is in fact joining us from Manali with the latest.
11:40Aseem, we're showing our viewers the visuals of broken bridges, vehicles stranded, complete devastation in Manali.
11:48Give us the latest details.
11:49How is the current situation?
11:50Well, I told you that the entire damage has been done by the rains in Himachal Pradesh.
11:58And it is raining since early morning to Rio and it is raining very heavily.
12:02Now, the latest is, we are in the old Manali.
12:05You can see this was a motorable road till 26th August.
12:08Then this entire collapse happened.
12:10But a route was opened.
12:11And from the same route, we went to Bang also to cover the damages.
12:15But now, what rains have done is, you can see in the visuals that the Bias River is flowing over this collapsed bridge.
12:23It is river and this entire passage which was made by the administration is now washed out.
12:28And a Tempu traveler, which was heading towards the bridge that got stuck in the waters.
12:34It is learned that when this incident happened around 8, 8.30 a.m., the police alerted the Tempu traveler that heavy waters were coming in as the Bias is in full spade.
12:46And the drivers were rescued and other people there were rescued.
12:49And the Tempu traveler is stuck there.
12:51And you can see how the Bias is gushing, how the Bias is in full spade and the entire area is inundated.
12:57It was a dry passage till yesterday.
13:01But now, since the rain last night and the incessant rain since morning, this entire area is almost washed out.
13:07And the water, and you can judge from the speed of the water that what kind of speed this water has attained.
13:12And there is no end to the rain.
13:14There is no end to the rain.
13:15It's raining very, very heavily.
13:16It's told to be the orange or the red alert here, which means that it will be a rain till late evening as well.
13:23So, these are the latest visuals from Old Manali, where you can see the water gushing over the collapsed bridge and the Tempu traveler stuck in there.
13:33Right.
13:34Aseem, also tell us about the steps which are being taken by the authorities and about the relief and rescue operations.
13:40What are the challenges being faced by the teams?
13:46Well, definitely, because a lot of connectivity was lost.
13:49And the major challenge was to basically restore the connectivity.
13:53But it was restored that the vehicles were going through this collapsed bridge.
13:57But now, it is a major challenge yet again because, you know, you can see the cops in the frame.
14:02They are alerting the people not to go close to the bridge or not to cross that bridge.
14:06And restoring the traffic, restoring connectivity, restoring the roads has been a major challenge.
14:11Although, the administration was working on a full swing to ensure.
14:14And this way started also.
14:16We ourselves, the India Today team, crossed this bridge to reach Bang.
14:20But now, it is again totally devastated and totally in waters.
14:25And this definitely is a major headache for the Himachal and the administration here.
14:29All right.
14:30Aseem, thank you for getting us all those details right from the ground.
14:35But also, tell us about the area over there.
14:39Have the locals been shifted from there to safer areas?
14:43Yes, definitely.
14:49This is the old Manali area.
14:51And the locals who were residing on the banks of this Bias River have been told to stay away.
14:56You can see the cafes and the houses hanging in the air.
15:01You can see where the water is coming down.
15:02One of those cafes collapsed in front of our eyes two days back.
15:06And we shot that as well.
15:07And now, those old cafes, those old houses which are closed to the Bias and are under threat have been told to,
15:15the people have been told to evacuate and stay away from the river Bias
15:19so that they don't get endangered by this inclement weather in Himachal Pradesh,
15:24which is not coming to end and continues.
15:28All right.
15:29Aseem, thank you for getting us all those details right from the ground.
15:32We'll keep coming back to you for more updates from Manali.
15:35So, clearly, pictures of devastation emerging from Manali.
15:40This is how, on your left, this is how the bridge used to look earlier.
15:45And now, after the floods and the incessant rainfall,
15:48the current situation looks like this in old Manali.
15:51The bridge has been broken.
15:53Vehicle has been stranded.
15:55And clear contrast between how it used to look earlier and how the bridge looks today.
16:05And we have some more breaking news coming in.
16:13E. Palani Swami launches scathing inflation attack on Tamil Nadu Chief Minister M.K. Stalin.
16:19EPS says prices skyrocketed, but Chief Minister worried about his family.
16:24EPS goes on to say that AIDMK allotted 100 crore rupees to tackle inflation.
16:29DMK only concerned about dynasty politics.
16:33Now, EPS targets Stalin over skyrocketing prices in Tamil Nadu,
16:37saying that the Chief Minister is only concerned about his family.
16:42The Chief Minister is now on the surface of this crisis.
16:52The Chief Minister is only concerned about his family.
16:56He has been against his family.
16:57But if we go on, the Chief Minister has been shown by the Chief Minister.
17:01And in the Chief Minister,
17:03he has been among other people.

17:49And my colleague Pramood Madhav is now joining us with more details on this.
18:09Pramood, after the attack on MK Stalin's foreign visit and demanding white paper of the same,
18:14now EPS has made another scathing attack against the Tamil Nadu chief minister over the inflation in the state,
18:21saying that the chief minister only cares about his family and not the state.
18:26Absolutely. It is a kind of like strong criticism against the chief minister by the opposition leader,
18:30Edapati K. Parishwami, who is in his multiple legs of campaign across the state of Tamil Nadu.
18:34And this has been, just like you mentioned, as the chief minister is in Germany.
18:38And when the chief minister is calling Tamil Nadu as the Germany of India,
18:41EPS has made his criticisms much sharper, claiming that while that chief minister is speaking in such manner over there,
18:47inflation has steeply increased over here and the cost of basic immunities have vastly increased.
18:52Already, AIDMK has been concentrating its attack against DMK over the property tax increase,
18:58the EV bills increase and such.
19:00And this is where the chief minister, I mean, Edapati K. Parishwami, the opposition leader,
19:03claims that the chief minister is only worried about giving positions for his family members
19:07and not about the common people.
19:08All right, Pramod, thank you so much for getting us all those details.
19:12And with that, we're now shifting focus. We're getting some more breaking news.
19:24Big face-off over Kerala predator Neta left women students plan letter war,
19:29left student group to send one lakh letters to Sonia Gandhi,
19:34left wants Rahul M to quit as MLA.
19:37Kerala MLA is accused of harassing women.
19:41And now, the left women students plan letter war.
19:45They have decided to send one lakh letters to Sonia Gandhi
19:49as they want Rahul M to quit as an MLA.
19:52And my colleague, Shibimul, is now there to be a
19:57And my colleague, Shibimul, is now there to be a
20:22joining us with more details on this.
20:25Shibimul, it seems like trouble is mounting for the Congress party with the left now,
20:29left women now planning to send one lakh letters to Sonia Gandhi
20:34over the quitting of Rahul M as an MLA.
20:38Well, Anjali, that's been the strong demand raised by the CPIM and the BJP in the state
20:45that Rahul should no longer continue as an MLA.
20:47Like, you know, if you remove him from the Youth Congress State President post
20:51or if you suspend him from the party also, it's more like your party's own decision.
20:55But what about the kind of, you know, he as an MLA, as a member of the Kerala Legislative
21:02Assembly, has a responsibility to people also.
21:05So that moral responsibility is completed only if he resigns as an MLA
21:09is what the left and the BJP has been raising.
21:12Now, the Congress has been targeting both the left and the BJP saying that,
21:16especially the left saying that, you know, we have taken action,
21:19we have taken strong action against our MLA by suspending him.
21:22You have not done something like that. Your MLA's are still walking free
21:26is what the Congress have been defending this.
21:30But now the left, the Students Wing plans to, you know, strengthen its campaign
21:34saying that Rahul should resign as an MLA and they say that they will be sending
21:38around one lakh letters via mail to Sonia Gandhi.
21:41The campaign has been named Mass Mail Campaign.
21:44So unlike female students of the SFI will be sending this mail is what we're understanding.
21:48The CPIM says that, you know, there have been many allegations against multiple leaders
21:54in various parties in the state, but this is a very rare case.
21:57It's not just one or two, but many, many women coming out and raising issues.
22:02Some of them have come out in the open revealing their identity,
22:04but there are many women inside who's not yet, you know, revealing their identity,
22:08but has raised serious allegations.
22:09So this is one of the rarest of rare cases and he should resign is what the CPIM has strongly been saying,
22:15especially even Chief Minister Pindrai Vijay came out saying that, you know,
22:18he doesn't deserve to continue as an MLA.
22:21There's some moral responsibility that should be held up by him as an individual
22:24and also by Congress as a political party.
22:28He will continue as an MLA.
22:30In fact, after two weeks, the assembly session is going to start.
22:32So we'll have to see if he's going to come there as Congress has suspended him.
22:36So he is no longer going to represent the Congress party.
22:38He will have to sit as just as an MLA without representing the party.
22:43So how things are going to work out, there's multiple discussions inside the Congress party
22:47asking whether he should, you know, he should attend the session or he should not attend the session.
22:52That's when this campaign has been launched by the SFI.
22:55We'll have to see in the coming days if he actually,
22:57or the Congress party will actually take a decision and ask him to resign from the post of MLA.
23:01All right. Shibimul, thank you so much for getting us all those details and for that context.
23:06And with that, it is a wrap on this bulletin.
