North Texas opens the 2025 season with a dominant 51-0 shutout win over Lamar at DATCU Stadium.

Redshirt freshman QB Drew Mestemaker threw for 329 yards and 3 touchdowns while the defense held Lamar to just 31 rushing yards. Ethan Wesloski scored on a fumble recovery as UNT posted its first shutout since 2003 and its largest since 1976.

The Mean Green improve to 1-0 and head to Western Michigan next.
