Two Taiwanese divers, including a diving instructor, have died after an underwater cave dive off Okinawa's main island. The two were pronounced dead at a local hospital after their bodies were recovered following a multi-hour search.

00:00Two Taiwanese divers have been found dead in an underwater cave off the coast of Okinawa.
00:06According to NHK, the men, both in their 20s, one of them a diving instructor,
00:11entered the water Sunday afternoon and lost contact with their group shortly afterward.
00:16After a search lasting more than three hours, they were found unconscious in a cave roughly 30 meters deep
00:22and later pronounced dead at the hospital.
00:25Professional cave divers say many factors could have led to their death.
00:30Cave diving, it actually has a lot of variables that can cause an accident to happen,
00:35such as they might have lost their visibility during the cave,
00:40so they lost their navigation and they couldn't find their way out.
00:43And secondly, there might also be the failure in their gas management,
00:48which they did not plan sufficient gas for their exit.
00:52And thirdly, they might lack the training, the sufficient training for cave diving,
00:57but they dive beyond their limit.
01:01Japanese authorities are investigating the incident.
