Bonoan’s resignation due to command responsibility — Marcos

President Ferdinand Marcos Jr. on Monday said the resignation of Manuel Bonoan as public works chief was mainly due to “command responsibility.”

Speaking at the sidelines of the Turismo Asenso Loan Program awarding ceremony in Pasay City, Marcos said that Bonoan felt the need to step down because issues surrounding the government’s flood control projects “happened under his watch”.

The President named Transportation Secretary Vivencio “Vince” Dizon as secretary of the Department of Public Works and Highways.

00:09all of these things happened, all of these problems happened under his watch.
00:15So under the principle of command responsibility, he felt that he should leave his post.
00:23And why Vince Nison? Because he's done a very good job at the OTR, and I think he's already set the stage for all of the things that we need to do.
00:38So pwede na niyang iwanan and go to public work because he's also familiar with the workings of the Department of Public Works.
